I know that this could of been already posted somewhere. However I've not been able to find it. So yes I'm making another thread. (yes I know it's a bit late)

[i]First I just want to say that I'm replaying the game for the umpteenth time. Several things have stood out before but I've never wanted to ask a question about them until now. It's because I can't find a post about it. Hence the new post/thread.

Hawke's Estate is fairly large. We know this due to the fact from Act 1.

1- When we enter the Estate/House what level are we on? Are we on the main level of the Estate/House?
Or a upper level?

I ask because of the layout of the Estate/House. If you look out the upper windows where the family crests are you can see statues of birds and an outside balcony. However everything with else says its a lower level because of placement of things. (yes I know bedrooms can be on the main floor)

Part of the first question brings me to question two.

2- So when you walk around outside of Hightown. Why can't you see the bird statues or balcony that you see when in Hawke's Estate/House?

I know that the balcony could be out of view due to location. However the bird statues are big enough to be seen. Even if its just the top of the head. That would indicate what window and direction Hawke looks out when inside the Estate/House. Yes I know it could be overlooked. I just don't see why something like that can be overlooked. While other things just as tiny aren't.
So do you have any other thoughts or things that bug you about Hawke's Estate/House?
If there is anything else I missed that you want to point out please feel free to do so. If you could post a screen shot of location of it or anything relating to the above two questions that would also be helpful appreciated.
I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this and asked the same questions. Yes I get it's just a game and whatnot.

Anyways thank you all for all your input and time....

Please keep it clean and respectful.

Personally, I'm disappointed at Hawke's estate. It looks big on the outside but is rather small inside, especially compared to the other homes in Hightown. I know it has other areas but not being able to access any other parts of the house sucked. It's like they only wanted to design two rooms and call it a day.

Yeah I was also. I always thought that it should of been more like Fenris but in better shape. Like how when you first have to clear out the demons before Fenris takes over the house.

That was one of the reason I asked the question about what level of the house is shown. Like first floor v. second floor. Private quarters v. public quarters.

I believe it's a level above ground floor because of the placement of what you see out the windows. However some things just don't add up.

So yeah it should or could of been done better. They could of even recycled a house and just flipped the layout and maybe added a room to make it different. Not much work to do that.

Thanks for the input. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who was like wtf.

I didn't mind the size of the estate, as I tend to get lost easily. I remember getting constantly turned around inside Reaver's House and Castle Albion in Fable 2.

The only thing that bugged me about Hawke's house was the lack of a side door. I didn't need access to the kitchens, I just wish there was a door I could pretend accessed the kitchens. Just helps with immersion.

Well, in fairness, you did have to clear slavers out of the basement.

In regards to the bold underlined part.

That is true. However what I should of said was how you was able to go through much of the house. Not necesserely clearing out the slavers or the demons.
Having to be able to go from room to room and it not just be on one section of the house. Frenis house was not a great example.
A better example would be one of two of the houses during Act 2.
Both houses have a similar layout. One is during the quest you do with Sabastian. The other is during the quest called Prime Suspect.
I liked the layout of the one with Sabastian more so then the other. It just had a better layout and feel to it. Like something Hawke would live in.

It also would be nice if they had the two sections of Hawkes house that you did get to see in Act 2 separate. So like where Bodhan and Sandal stand should be separate from the bedrooms.
I say this because Bodhan is acting the part of the manservant. Taking messages and greeting you as you arrive and Sandal has his enchantment.
Like using the little hall with the bench for people to wait kinda like Frenis does when he is waiting to talk to Hawke after one of the quest for him.
It just works better I believe that way. Give the separation of private and public even if your in a small layout.

I do understand that you don't have to go to the kitchen but just knowing there is a door that shows that the house has more then what we see would also be great.

Thank you so much for your input and time.
