Ortan Thaig fell in the Exalted Age during the blight which places that date between 5:12 and 5:20. Even if we suppose Orta was born at the beginning of the dragon age that's still 388 to 380 years.
Meaning the three generations preceeding Orta, including her Great Grandmother, would have to live an average of between 129.3 and 126.3 years each. And that isn't taking into account the fact that her ancestor was in training at the time and not a baby.

Also.
www.youtube.com/watch
Her Great Grandmother and her husband, that seems to be quite name specific, like a family tree.

It's even worse than that... it's not living on average 129-126 years... it's 129-126 years on average until having a child. For the math to go together, they must all be fertile into well beyond s human's lifespan and could easily mean a lifespan of some 250-300 years if it's anything remotely like humanity...

I'll concede the point however, the mention of the husband well dismisses my objections on that account. Now it definantely must be her full name (and her husbands).

It raises a few annoying questions though...

How come noone remembered where the thaig was if it's just been 4 generations since...

How come Orta's grandmother's word was not good enough for the shaperate/assembly?

How come noone ever noticed that dwarves seems to live akin to 10 human generations and metnioned it?

and worst of all... how did Orta's relatives in Ortan thaig that were mentioned 400 years ago handle the fact that orzammar abandoned everything outside it's own walls 1000 years ago?

And how come Vartag Gavorn claims the 4th blight was 16 dwarven generations ago?

I'll admit that Orta's great grandmother living 400 years ago seems legit. It's either intentional or whoever wrote that quest messed up.

Like Ilen's father, I'm just suspicious because they seem to be pretty isolated instances and nobody ever remarks upon dwarves having such fantastic longevity.  It's just odd.

True, but i don't know how to explain away this, other than it being a writting error.

What's the writting error in the video???

Basically Orta's dialogue and the tablet implies that four generations of her family lived during a 400 + year time period. That means that Mary Kirby's statement about the Qunari only having longer lifespans is not true or that there's a writting error in Orta's quest due to the time implying that her family (Dwarves) are long lived.

Although as I mentioned before even though the post starts "All the races" she only actually names Qunari, Elves and Humans in the post. There's no mention of Dwarves, potentailly leaving that open to being an oversight and she simply left them out, or Dwarves having the capacity for longer lives.

I think it might be the former while Orta's quest contradicts the statement.

So as she didn't mention Dwarves in her post it seems fairly safe to believe that evidence of long Dwarven lifespans doesn't contradict her statement about the other races.

The thing people have to realize is that just because one mage is evil does not justify the oppression of every mage

DA2 had every mage except a few go batpoop crazy by the time the game was over. Even that mage lady you rescue looses it too. I could go on, but I'm sure thats been layed out here and in countless other threads.
