The Reaper/Catalyst version of chaos is organic life. And that chaos is solved by annihilation.

ME1: "Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident."
"We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it."
ME2: "We are your salvation through destruction."
ME3: "You represent chaos. We represent order."

Chaos in the Reaper sense is NOT synthetics destroying organics or vice versa. Chaos is organic life that is not under reaper control.

no, it's synthetic life "under" organic control...

we represent chaos when we destroy that what we create. Not unlike mother nature it's self.. if you think about all those garden planets sucked into black holes for instance..what a waste.(IF you're organic that is ;)

note: I think the catalyst is an organic computer myself. Makes sense that Leviathan would make one, being is their tech is organic, like their globes seems to be. The MEU is rife with organic gone synthetic. Might be what confuses the catalyst and possibly the organics. Food for thought? (the catalyst might just be edible..)

But since the killing all robots angle was added in to make the other choices at all palpable I stopped caring.

That's the only reason it was added in: to make control and synthesis at all palpable. I destroy Mac's "art".

The synthetics in Javik's cycle were the result of self inflicted synthesis.

"They resorted to implants to enhance their intelligence."
"The AI seized the physical body. It could alter the genetic material at the deepest level.
In time the offspring were molded into a slave race. Few organic traces were left. They were monsters."

If there's just a slight chance that would happen by picking synthesis, Shepard would be wise to consider the other options first.

No,

What the Za were doing is just the same as what all organics do, create synthetic elements to combat organic mortality, which eventually leads to the creation of enotionless synthetic life, the combination of organic fear of their immortal creation and the synthetic lack of implicit value for organic life results in conflict.

Synthesis in the context of the end choice is a synthetic framework that auguments organics allowing them to run software and make upgrades in similar ways to pure synthetics _without_ stripping them of their own feelings (All other organic/synthetic hybrids eventually had this problem) and gives synthetics a framework that adds actual implicit feelings allowing them to understand the value of life (The "Understanding of organics" part)

Synthesis is _not_ just tech-bits-in-organics that has been done in this cycle and many times previous.

Whoa, I have a difficult time making sense out of that.

So nature is chaos because nature destroys what it created before... but Reapers are order because they trick nature by turning us into abominations before we destroy our creations?

And how does the Catalyst being organic play into this? And edible? Who would want to eat an ancient organic genocide computer that likes to look like a child?

Uuh... I am really confused
