Disclaimer: My apologies if this has been asked before, but after two hours of googling and searching the forums, I found nada on the subject.

Now... everything was going well with my game, till i decided to delete the old characters and make new ones. Suddenly, all Human and Elf characters got the exact same dialogue when they meet King Cailan (something about them being from a farmland near Redcliffe) and the Dwarf characters get the generic Dwarf dialogue (meant for Dwarf Commoner?). Note that the game has been updated to 1.02 but it worked perfectly before i deleted the chars.

The toolset won't work on linux, so editing the appropriate value in the save is not an option. Does anyone know of a fix, cheat, console code or even mod that would enable me to manually set the origin i want in game?

Failing that, anyone knows why this is happening? (and if this has been addressed before, do point me in the right direction)

EDIT: Just went through the Landsmeet scene... and the weirdest thing happened... back at Arl Eamon's estate, I talked to Anora and she recognised my character as a Cousland, even said she'd marry him.

then, the Landsmeet... suddenly Alistair is the king-to-be and my char is.. well, nada... curious, I play through it (even have him fight Loghain to make sure he won't marry Anora) and the scene after starts. My character is once again a Cousland, only now he's ...breaking up with Alistair because apparently he's a she?!

Do you have any mods installed? Particularly anything that messes with your characters starting stats? Some of those are known to clear some of the variables that are used to track origin.

i have one that does exactly that actually.. and apparently it is time for it to go the way of the dodo

just re-install that mod after you've finished at ostagar, I'd bet the read-me in the mod says so.
