Would prismatic dragon armor be a lot of trouble to make?

AD, I was just kidding on the clones front. However, if you want to use the dragon heads and you don't want to shrink them too much how about using them for the back of the dragonscale helmet (assuming you are going to do one).

TR

I might just use them for helmets, we'll see.  I would like to include them, because we all know someone's character that likes to wear as many dead creature parts on them as possible.

AD, could you make a quick arm piece
(possibly off the loose and flaired model) so that the top has something
the mesh with?

I just might. We'll see how much time I have once I've finished the parts I want to make.

There's a "rainbow/oiled/whatever" color in the metal palletes that would possibly work with the same model as the metallics...just use that instead of gold/silver/copper/brass/bronze.  Closest thing I can think of for the prismatic theme.

As far as using a prismatic dragon head in the work (like I want to do with chromatics and metallics), probably not.  I've never really cared for the NWN prismatic dragons, and they just don't fit in with the classic 5 metallics and 5 chromatics.

Well, (and this would be plan B) OTR, if you are really bored, and you'd like to take a look into the model/animations, I'd be glad to send them to you! ;)

I can't, unfortunately.  I'm not set up for it at the moment.

NP, OTR. It was just an idea for a maybe quick solution, which came to my mind.
When changing back into the toon-appearance and "remount", all looks well again. So it's not a real problem.

I decided to add a evil one, even when I know perfectly that oriental dragons are always good and wise beings, incarnations of heavens and nature's powers....

Not necessarily... Many dragons were good, buuut! There were some japanese dragons said to eat humans, for what I perceive as, "for sh*ts and giggles".. =] Doesn't seem very heavenly to me. Then chinese dragons, they were generally good as long as humans were loyal to them, which is pretty much, they viewed it as, if you angered a dragon by not giving them what they want, you could bring upon a drought on your land. Japanese dragons having more to do with bad sea weather than rain, since Japan didn't really care about rain. I don't know enough about korean dragons to say anything about them, but they were probably much the same.

So basically, "good" not so much all the time, "wise" sure, "incarnations of heavens and nature's powers" they were magical beasts, who varied just as much as you and I it seems. Now, the only remaining question is, which of us eats human beings for sh*ts and giggles? :o

I do know they ascend to heaven or what-not, but they aren't exactly the heavenly things we see in our minds now, it seems! Heavenly would mean, they're good-aligned, no? They seem more to vary good to neutral to evil..

Either way, all the lovely work is very nice! And visually and representatively, the oriental dragons are very nice! The evil one, I so would've made black, but hey! *Shrug!*

Also I likely won't be able to get into this month's challenge, because of some outer things in RL, and a busy schedule in general, for my max. But that's okay! :crying:

Current work in progress.

Done:
- chest, belt, shoulders, forearms, shins
- 2da entries for model numbers 219, 220, 221

To Do:
- make inventory icons for chests, shoulders, belts
- make versions of each for female, large pheno, and large pheno female
- run through NWN Armory for versions for other races
- compile all models

Quick toolset screenshot.  Ignore the scale hovering infront of the NPC, it's just base scale used for building each piece and will be removed for the final versions.

@ TAD: I like those suits and I'm looking forward to be using them IG! Any chance for at least one female model - maybe even after the May-CCC?

:P

Boob space is the most work in scaling/shaping for females.  It's a lot of overlapping layers and vertices.  So far, so good.

Like I mentioned a while ago, this won't be your typical armor where suddenly half of it vanishes when a female puts it on.

B) I guess, it was late and my eyes half shut... :innocent:
And I like the idea of having a full cover armor for females, too, not just an uber protective bikini model! ^_^

<lounging about...>

I've only managed to give Cestus a few hours at the forge, so our metallic dragon remake is just not gonna happen this month. I'm sorry about that.

Especially since it means the blasted dwarf has nearly drunk my cellars dry. :-/

After migration, I will be returning to this, bumping it ahead of the ABC: Into the Green, Baba Yaga's hut (the skin-mesh creature version) and the Damned.

I'm just too busy :-(

Y'all got a few more days to get your stuff in. I'm not done with my own quite yet. :P

If anyone wants to sneak something in quick, there's still plenty of non-model things that can be done...prefab NPCs, items, conversations, cutscenes, encounters, areas, new dragon-related scripts, etc. :)

<dancing a little...>

Well, I *did* add a couple custom anims to the green dragon - pounce & sleep. I guess I could toss that in :-) They're rough, still, but useable.

I'll wing them your way :-)

Rolo, could you export your anims as c_drganim instead of c_drggreen?

<feeling terribly...>

Feedback (meant positively): I really like the texturing and the new shape of the head, but the dragon somehow gives me the impression of being young or barely adult. *shrug*
There's a place for that, of course, but it just doesn't feel hoary and ancient to me :-P

The model is actually c_drg_atgrn because I didn't want to overwrite the drggreen supermodel. I wanted something ahead of it, so c_drg_atgrn supermodels c_drggreen.

If I hadn't already sent it in, I'd go back and rename it :-P
I'll do so for the update (the anims are pretty rough). I also want a good wing-buffet and tail-whip and a better stomp...

Added back some details from the original texture (is a pain because my UVs are distributed more evenly, so having to do a lot of stretching to wrap it around). Close-up of the face...

Because I was taking WIP screenshots anyway...I'm finally done with the female versions of the armor pieces.

Yes, I know the belt doesn't line up well for them. I blame the default hip-to-the-side stance, which makes lining things up almost impossible on females unless you're making a robe.  If you really want your females to wear the armor, I suggest they leave off the belt.

Working on inventory icons.  Yuck.  These were much easier for weapon models, since I didn't have to deal with 10 layers for every chest, shoulder, and belt.

I may or may not get to large phenotypes before this is released to the public.  We'll see if I can scrounge more NWN time in the next few days or so after I finish the icons (real life has been interfering a lot recently).

Declared/Hinted Projects:

Eastern Style Metallic Dragons - Cestus Dei
Zombie Dragon - Pstemarie

Downloaded/Received:
Oriental Dragons - Shemsu-Heru
Dragon Deity Holy Symbols - Shemsu-Heru
Enhanced Green Dragon - Cestus Dei
Mounted Dragons - TheOneBlackRider
Dragonscale Armor - The Amethyst Dragon
Dragon-related Prefab Items - The Amethyst Dragon
Skinmeshed Dragons - _six

And yes, I'm one of the stragglers.  Just finished icons, but I still need to run the models through NWN Armory to produce armor for other races besides human, then compile and package them. I'm leaving out large phenotype models for now just to get the content out, but will add it in an addendum or something soon.

Files are online and ready for downloading at the new Vault.

I was missing only a zombie dragon, so I went ahead and uploaded the files.

For _six's dragons, I included both the original versions and alternative versions that I compiled and turned the textures into .dds files.

I whipped up 14 prefab items for the theme as well.  10 dragonscale armors (which require my new dragonscale armor models, but have the best scale colors preselected) and 4 non-hak items (a misc. small gem that summons a dragon, a large shield, an outfit for those sacrificial virgins intended for dragons, and a greatsword).
