 So I just finished ME3 and I had never played the first two games. Come to find out there is so much more if you play through all. I did the Liara romance and it was decent. Do anyone have any suggestions on who to romance in the series? Can I hook up with one person in ME1 then another in 2 & 3? Should I just go one character to the end? Who's got the best romance content?

Yes you can change who you romance in ME1, ME2, and ME3.

Personally I think Kaidan's is the best, but I admit I'm biased.

Ash's romance in ME1 is far more interesting.

Actually, so is her character. She shoots her mouth off so much more.

MaleShep, go with no romance in Mass Effect. Then pick Tali in Mass Effect 2 & 3.

I romance Ashley in ME1.

Miranda in ME2.

Then Ashley in ME3.

I feel that it flows pretty well with the story presented.

Male Shepard but I might consider Fem. I'm not playing for just the romance but just want a rich story.

Depends on what you play and your preference, my cannon femshep romanced Liara in all 3 and I have another femshep that romanced no one in 1 and Garrus in 2 and 3. I personally find those two romances as the most enjoyable but you have lots of options.

Just some content to get my attention.  Someone said Jack has the deeper story but you never see her and she isin't a squadmate. Tali is what I most likley will do but she doesin't come in till the end. Then again they put a lot of content for Liara, way way more than all the others, and you can have her relationship tin all 3 games....I dunno

Yeah, I pick my romance options to have the best overall story as well.

I just think that Ashley in ME1, Miranda in ME2, and Ashley again in ME3 fits perfectly with the story.

Play a paragade vanguard femShep, romance Garrus. It takes some time getting off the ground, but it flows very well, and unlike the OTHER most spoiled LI (Liara), he never forgets you're a thing. And he gets a ton of content. 

I'm not just saying that because I loved the metric blazes out of that playthrough. But I did.

Oh yea that, I do actually like Garrus' romance a little more in that aspect though I usually just headcannon some stuff for Liara, it's silly that I have to but not a big deal to me

Not to mention that the conversation between Shepard and romanced Garrus before the run to the beam in ME3 is, IMHO, among the best moments of the entire trilogy.

I actually think they are all amazing, heck I've never romanced her but Tali's was particularly heartwrenching

The best is really subjective, but for my main Male Shepard I found the Ashley romance best. It is a rough road to go down with her since there is a point of darkness in it but it shows that not all things are just given to Shepard. He has to fight for her and I like that.

My main Female Shepard romanced Liara and even that can be frustrating at times. In ME2 there are moments that she turns a cold shoulder and in ME3 you are friend zoned alot. But its worth it in the end.

Personally, I think all of the romances have something to offer for story telling purposes ... even Jacob, Thane, Kelly and Samara allow different options to Shepard's story.

Liara romance is outstanding in the ME2 "Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC". That's what makes the difference to me. ME1 is pretty equal for everyone, ME3 clearly favors Talimancers.
