FemShep, no one in ME1, Garrus in ME2 and ME3. You'll thank me later. >>

I toss my support behind this statement. Image IPB Image IPB

I think we're all biased in this instance, given that we all have our likes and dislikes to the relationships - I personally find the story of MaleShepard and Kaidan the best of them all because of the roundabout way it takes to happen and what I fill in the gaps with, while I despise Liara's romance because I see her as making her life revolve around Shepard, to the point of putting Shepard on a pedestal and never letting him/her fall from it, which doesn't seem healthy in any way to me. Those are my biases, and I'm sure that others have biases against mine.

Really, just figure out what you're interested in. Really, I recommend playing through as many of the romances as you feel comfortable with, as you learn a LOT more about the characters when you romance them than you do when you just friend them. If you need to, write the names of all the romanceable characters down, toss them in a hat, and pick one to romance.

I think I'm going to imagine Shep doing this from now on.

Feeling lonely staring at the fish tank... reaching for the helmet filled with names...

"Hmm... Who is it today?"

Well, thats probably what Gamer-poop Shepard does. I mean, his catch phrase is "we'll bang, okay"

Liara romance is outstanding in the ME2 "Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC". That's what makes the difference to me. ME1 is pretty equal for everyone, ME3 clearly favors Talimancers.

really? i thought tali didn't appear until about 1/2 - 2/3rd into the game?

There is a load of Liara dialogue in the game, but 95% of that does not depend on romance at all. The only scene in a level recognizing the romance that I can think of is on Mars at the beginning, other than that there is just very little on the Normandy when you specificly talk to Liara- in the end Liara even suddenly talks about being "just friends" on the Citadel to make you feel like you are just initiating the romance despite they may have been together for years now.

For Tali, almost every scene reflects the romance, like on the Geth dreadnought or on Rannoch when you attack the Reaper (and the latter scene is even referenced back again later).

I can agree on that. I have seen all the romances. That extra dialogue made Tali romance feel that much more natural than all others.

Just romance everyone. There are enough combinations of classes and gender to cover all the romance options.

My advice:
ME1: Ash/Kaidan (Nothing against liara other than that they're more... accepting of the LI change)
ME2/3: Tali/Garrus

Ash's romance in ME1 is far more interesting.

Actually, so is her character. She shoots her mouth off so much more.

Right up until ME3 where she essentially turns into a monosyllabic parrot. Image IPB

FemShep - ME1: Kaidan or no one, ME2: Garrus, ME3: Garrus. I have a Kaidan/Thane/Kaidan PT as well, but Bioware outdid themselves with the Garrusmance. From what I've seen the FemShep/Traynor romance is adorable, but suffers from not being able to take her with you on missions.

MaleShep - ME1: Ashley or no one, ME2: Tali, ME3: Tali or Kaidan. This is based strictly on watching videos, haven't played a male Shepard myself.
