I don't mind her in ME3, but I prefer her ME2 form. Same with the Geth.

I always have to laugh about the people complaining that she's a "sexbot" and all that...

Even if bioware gave her that body for that reason...YOU are still the one seeing only that.

EDI was fine when she was just the ship. I'm OK with the idea of giving her a body, but not one that's incredibly sexualized. I'd even be OK with a bot that has the option to become "sexy," but her permanently walking around in that body annoyed me.

Pretty much all this.

Did they have to turn EDI into yet another doll in the Mass Effect Barbie collection?

If a woman gets breast implants...does that make her nothing more than a sex object?

Now...maybe that woman wanted implants to indeed be nothing more than a sex object.

However, whether she is one in your eyes in your opinion.

As for the character we're talking about...

To me...it's EDI with a body.

To others...it's a sexbot.

So the only person you should be upset with is yourself for not being able to look beyond that.

Bioware keeps smashing it in our face. Every time someone refers to EDI's body, it's about how attractive it's supposed to be. And I don't like that.

Read the artbook please. It's specifically mentioned that she was built to be... sexy.

Ironically enough, the people who call her a sexbot are the ones who think the whole body thing was ridiculous.

Why? Certainly it's a major difference from her previous body.

On multiple occasions, reference to EDI's body as being sexy are made by various crewmen. Kaiden says she's "looking good", Donnelly comments on her "padding", Joker says "sexy robot body", and even Brooks in the Citadel DLC calls her a "sexbot". Overall, this is not a major issue for me, but I thought it was something to point out, and at times fairly amusing. Her being a robot does make it a different case, but the same design fault is clearly seen with Ashley. I guess she must've taken a trip to Brazil if she survived Vermire, 'cause homegirl didn't look like that in the beginning lol

Well...I do have to agree with Argolas on this one.

Even the first thing Dr. Chakwas says about EDI's new body is in reference to her sex appeal.

You must not have paid attention to the game. On multiple occasions, reference to EDI's body as being sexy are made by various crewmen. Kaiden says she's "looking good", Donnelly comments on her "padding", Joker says "sexy robot body", and even Brooks in the Citadel DLC calls her a "sexbot". This isn't something that bugs me a whole lot because it's mostly kind of amusing to me, but it does go to some of the design faults with ME3. If Ashley survives Vermire rather than Kaiden, it's obvious that Ashley flew to Brazil to get something done, 'cause homegirl didn't like that when she was on my team last lol.

I'm not talking about what other NPC are saying.

I'm talking about you...the player.

Sure...bioware didn't need to make every single NPC drool over EDI's new body...however...

My point is that...it doesn't matter how many other people may see EDI as nothing more than a sex bot...if you see her that way...you only have yourself to blame for not being able to look past that.

I personally love edi as a character, like that she got a body, and truly do like the story the writers told and where they took her character, endings aside. I find a lot of the complaining about how edi looks rather sexist in itself, since it disregards what edi's character actually is and seems to promote that how she looks is more important than how she is.

But that poll was hilarious, so props where props are due OP.

For organics, the body is a part of you. For synthetics, the body should not mean anything. I mean, the Normandy is EDI's body and the Normandy has toilets, so does this mean the whole crew relieves itself on EDI? No, because bodies don't mean the same things to synthetics as they do to us, and they should not. I also don't like it when everyone keeps talking about how "hot" a character is all the time. When the crew talks about EDI, it should be about EDI and not about a meaningless expandable platform she happens to use.

If EDI should have gotten a humanoid body in ME3 at all, it should have been one that EDI designed for herself, at least then it would have something to do with EDI herself and not just be a tool she decided to use. And oversexualizing that character was pointless and done poorly. Make a robot sexy, fine. Design a robot to be sexy and fail (IMO) but have every second character in the game say how gorgeous it is supposed to be- bad idea. They didn't even let me ignore the body like I ignore Samara's "uniform" because nobody will shut the f*ck up about it.

This is exactly way EDI does things like taking over a body without asking. She's a synthetic that is evolving and wants a body, but organics don't want her to have one.

Who says synthetic/organic conflict doesn't exist?

Read my post above. I don't have anything against her having a body. I do have something against what it turned out like.

Your entire point makes no sense. You just finished going on a long lengthy discussion on how organics and synthetics view their bodies differently. And now you are saying that the normandy crew, a bunch of organics, should have acted like a bunch of synthetics, in regards to reacting to edi's body, despite them having very vast differences in how they view a body.

If anything your point explains how edi isn't affected by what the crew says, since she views her mobile platform as that, a mobile platform serving a utalitarian purpose.

2nd leading vote is:

"I prefered her just being the ship."

Just as organics, synthetics don't like being held back. It's basically the reason why they turn on their creators.

It makes perfect sense how the Normandy's crew reacted. That doesn't make the body good, neither in its design nor in its background. I would have LOVED to see EDI creating a body for herself the way she wants to look like, a body that reflects her growing personality, a body that she made for herself because she wished to interact with people, especially Joker. A physical reflection of her wish to be a person. Not a meaningless platform that she took over from Cerberus to provide fire support and doesn't mean anything other than "sexy".

Is that right?

So is that just EDI, or is it any attractive character?
