Sure it does. That's what science is all about. Doing cool stuff for the hell of it. Don't listen to all that boring philosophical crap.

Not really

EDIs one of a kind. Of course characters are going to talk about her. I like that her body is lampshaded.

Besides, as I said, it's clearly written to be humorous and endearing, not sexually enticing.

Well, it kind of fails in the humorous and endearing zone.

Hmmm... It also occurs to me that somehow managing to endow EDI with the physical sensation of pleasure would also mean endowing her with the ability to feel pain.

Sure it is. Why do you think we spent billions putting a man on a moon? Because we can. It's a learning experience, yes, but every new experience is a learning experience.

I think it was the in your face sexualized ion of EDi. The gigantic breasts, Miranda sized ass, and the plainly obvious ****** that annoy us. An infiltration unit shouldn't be drawing unnecessary attention. There was no need to turn EDI into a sexbot, but they did it anyway.

I'm sure that depends on which supporter you ask.

I mean, hell, maybe their capability to understand organics also means they can cherry-pick the sensations they want to experience.

Are you sure? She may have altered her programming to take more enjoyment from sex. I hardly see why its my business to tell Joker and EDI what's best for them or not, if they genuinely like each other. EDI certainly seems to be interested for purposes other than research.

Well, she doesn't have much hormones so it's really difficult to get high on it.

It is anthropomorphic to make an entity that is completely inhuman human. I like it more if differences amd diversity are celebrated. That an entity like EDI would plainly not have the interests biological organisms have. She might find human behaviour weird and thus interested in understanding how it works, but otherwise an AI might like calculating PI or counting atoms more because we are talking about an entirely non biological intelligence devoid of limitations of body and even mind. She's doing stuff humans cannot even imagine,
And if she gets a body, let her treat it like what it is to her: A disposable asset. Have her hack a combat mech for convenience, switch into the security systems for better surveillance, download back into an escape vehicle and shortcircuit an opposing gunship...

That's the potential! But sure, let's make a sexbot and comic relief out of it... That's interesting  and not dull at all...:pinched:

And let's hammer home that the nerdy cripple won't get a real girlfriend... that's not a bit iffy at all :pinched:

And it's not like I'm rallying the PC band wagon here. I just found it the cheapest and cheesiest narration to go about it.

There's no need to make character attractive, but they did it anyway.

. And it doesn't mesh well IMO,  its like what they did with Ashley.  Giving someone sex appeal, when it has been previously established that the person did not value raw sex appeal.

I found it more interesting that so many fans found Edi's body interesting... But does Edi have a soul?

Hey, we're talking pre-green beam here. No understanding as of yet.

At least I am.

Hell even in the art book about Ash, they literally said giving Ashley more sex appeal

Perhaps a little more combat-ification would be in order, though she may look a bit too threatening to just walk around the Citadel.

Edi didn't 'design' her bod, it came that way. Besides, Joker liked it, so why not?

Does she dream of electric sheep?

Would her dreams be any different now that she has a physical platform?

Speaking of which, the visor never made much sense to me. She certainly didn't need it when disguised as Dr. Eva.

I dislike EDI's visor as much as I dislike Kai Leng's visor thing

They both felt unnecessary

Edi did state she couldn't do anything with her hair, maybe the visor is just prothstetic? Image IPB

She can't do anything with her hair if its wet, but otherwise she can change the style of the hair

Eye protection maybe? The body was also designed for combat .
