By the way, I love the poll you've got set up, OP. Not biased at all, is it?

I transcended the meaning of the medium that is a poll. It shall now not only serve to ask the opinion of others, it also expresses my own in a very elegant way. It's... beautiful.

The fact that it's obviously sexualized doesn't bother me one bit. I imagined that it was built by some Male Cerberus scientists in some private lab somewhere. The result isn't lorebreaking at all.
Jim: "Damnit... we're supposed to build an Infiltration bot. How the hell is that supposed to look like?"
Tim: "I have no idea... "
*Jane, the female member of the team enters the room*
Jane: "Gah... did you see the last model show on the extranet? That **** totally shouldn't have won... I mean, just because she's got huge boobs doesn't make her any better person or any more likable!"
*Jim and Tim goes silent and looks at each other.*

the sex bot moniker came from none other than Jack. Edi made her insecure?
What does Jack have to do with anything? I'm talking about Julia's apparent bitterness over Joker's refusal to sex up her Shepard.
Well when if you play hetero femShep, and didn't romance Garrus in ME2, and if you happened to romance Thane (he dies), or Jacob (he cheats), and saved Ashley (Virmire), ALL of your romances in ME3 are lesbian. Then in the Citadel DLC James gives you a pity f*** then feels dirty about it. It's not that I even like Joker. That's not the point.
Male Shepard, on the other hand, has no issues like that.

Here's the logic I'm seeing.
It's perfectly okay for a woman to have the sexually appealing trait of pretty eyes.
It's perfectly okay for a woman to have the sexually appealing trait of flawless skin.
It's perfectly okay for a woman to have the sexually appealing trait of sleek and shiny hair.
It's perfectly okay for a woman to have the sexually appealing trait of a well-structured face.
It's perfectly okay for a woman to have the sexually appealing trait of being slender.
It's perfectly okay for a woman to have the sexually appealing trait of being tall.
All of these are undeniably sexually appealing traits.
But if a character has the sexually appealing trait of full breasts, well, gosh, it must be because the developers want to bring in 13 year old boys and basement dwellers. It must be because they want to advertise. There's no possible other reason or explanation. And any character who has full breasts is a dumb sl(u)t, because having full breasts 'detracts' from them? There's been no mention of breasts in the thread
I belive that that is a lie.

There's something creepy and off about Joker's face in ME3 so I voted for "Joker is creepy". I don't care about their relationship but his waving when talking to EDI on the Citadel was a little creepy too. It might just be his face *shrugs*

Does her physically attractive appearance alter her personality? No, not really. Her having a physical body does, but it's not because it is "pretty". In fact, about the only thing her appearance is used for is to create a source of comedic banter that npc's have, and nothing more.
What I am more interested about is the obsession people have with how she looks, over who she is as a character, to the point of judging her a bad squadmate solely on her appearance. That is what has happened in this thread, and it is honestly more sexist than any amount of sexualization I have seen to date.

That she would have a body and that the whole Joker thing would happen was pretty much expected going in, so...
I do wish her body wasn't default naked. That's my only complaint. But it's a little one. It's not like the precedent for over-sexualization hasn't been set by Miranda, Benezia, Samara, or the video game industry itself.

I think you mistake something. I'm judging Bioware on the basis of thinking that players can only deal with hot women. I find EDI's personality great regardless of a body so why did they think they needed to shove a pseudo naked women in your face as the avatar of a character whose special thing is that she's without an actual body?
You can ask the same about Ashley who looks like an anorexic with a pretty big makeover when her character was more that of a practical person and Liara who seemingly got herself a boob job. Miranda goes without saying but she at least started out this way when she was introduced.

The only part that really bugs me about Miranda is the "ass-cam" everywhere. It's not inappropriate to do this at all, but it shouldn't be done for no reason. When somebody actually looks at someone's butt like in that femshep/samantha scene, no problem, but otherwise it's not a good idea. Otherwise, the difference is that in EDI's case, nobody will shut up about how attractive she is supposed to be.

On the other hand I like a sexy voice with no matching appearance, even better if it is a ship.
And honestly I thought EDI was not as pretty as she could be, I would prefer if she had hair and flesh and was romanceable

But when it comes to EDI, this is not the hill I'm willing to die on. The alternatives to "sexbot" body are odd. What would you choose? A mech? An old school blockish robot? Having a human and "teasing" body fits EDI's personality. Like I said, the only real gripe, for me, is the lack of clothes.
@Argolas, I get what you're saying. That's true. For Miranda, I'd also throw in the skin tight clothes bit. But that's fairly universe wide. Jacob's clothes are also skin tight. However, the camera never seems to be focusing on his crotch.

I would've gave her a humanoid body too and her Alternate Appearance Pack outfit makes me more ok with her body
