I beat the three waves of enemies, heard Lord Tavorick's scream, and rushed upstairs. I helped the two guardsman fight off the mephits there, but Tavorick did not appear.
I understand that he can be killed at this point, but if so, he's supposed to have a death speech where he sends you after Melia. He doesn't appear alive or dead, and the guards are still just telling me to "Keep Tavorick safe"

iirc it lets Melia know you're done at the Tavorick estate. ie, I hope it's enough to advance the plot ( at the Moonstone Mask )
