Bioware can't even keep track of their own lore. They can stay the balls away from Warhammer 40k.

Don't Worry, I heard Matt Ward will be one of the lead writers

How is bioware going to do their rag tag team story in a universe where pretty much every race is homicidally racist against eachother?

Also, if this is true, than I fear for all the elf romance demand threads that will arise.

It will be a series of misunderstandings.

Bioware is too hippie to make something out of Warhammer 40k without adulterating the nonsense of it.

Matt Ward knows Bioware could make his dreams of romancing Ultramarines come true.

Is the W40K lore consistent as it is?

They made a handwave that anything that isn't consistent could just be propaganda from one of the sides or made up stories

Bioware's Mass Effect 3 team and Ward
I can hardly think of better Custodians for the Canon of Warhammer 40k

Doubt it. If anything, EA is scaling back and is in self preservation mode. No Tiger Woods title next year (until 2016), and no Madden this year for Nintendo after claiming a 'strong partnership'. Unless a new IP purchase is a cause of this shuffling.

That website from the link in the OP redirected me to a porn site after connecting to the article, guessing source isn't so reliable then? Theres different houses in Bioware now, so maybe its legit. Perhaps this will end up being some kindof Facebook game.
If its true, maybe Bioware can smack whoever was trying to lay claim to "Space Marine" if they try to bully any authors again.

It's not class...  IT'S PRIVILEGE

But how would such a game work? Horus Heresy? The Great Crusade? ...

Just think.

In the game we can meet and befriend a Necron Lord, who will keep asking us if it has a soul, we'll have a Tau engineer that joins up as part of some right of passage, and she'll love to use made up curse words. An Eldar scientist, who's real shy and specializes in studying the Old Ones will join up as well, followed by an old Ork Warboss, an unsanctioned psyker with a troubled childhood, a couple other space marines, and one imperial guardsmen who doesn't like authority, and is kinda a loner.

Together you and your motley crew must stop the Chaos Gods from destroying the galaxy.

I'd buy it.

Well, as long as we have the option murder-chainknife them for the Emprah, I'm all for it.

Use in universe propoganda to make us the good guys. It's easy, creative and fits with the universe. Of course, it won't work with those familiar with the 40K universe, but for those who aren't, or who haven't heard about it at all it would make a nice twist to see how the world works.

Let's say we're part of the Imperium. Through out the game we are convinced that the Tau are evil, they're jerks, they're against humanity and want to kill us all. We have a motive to fight, we have a reason to believe that what we're doing is right. Yet, in the long run, we aren't.

Of course, the propoganda has to be subtle. BioWare haven't really tried subtle since KOTOR, but they better pour their hearts into it if they want it to work. No BioShock Infinte stuff that just spelt indoctrination and ideological tool from the moment we saw Comstock (love the game, no hate <3.) This has to be all "ravens and quills" or it won't have the same impact.

As for working together... I can see some of the races doing so against Chaos. Hell, in the Dawn of War 2 game we have an Inquisitor working with an Orc for a bit so there's BioWare's chance. Still, I'd rather not see their formula in here, I'd like to see BioWare stretch out, especially if they're using 40K as their next IP. There's so much to that world that can be made into gaming gold.

They haven't really tried. Though subtley is expelled the moment you used the same technique over and over.

Yeah, subtlety is the word that is least associated with 40K. Granted, their non-subtely lies on the completely opposite end of the scale from Bioware's.

Don't suggest them to interfere in a badass universe they don't belong to!
