I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm watching the game slowly dying.
i've been wondering about what killed it the most.
I have a few choices that i've narrowed it down to.
1) The AIU, one of the dumbest design decisions i've ever seen in a game.
2)  The Reegar Carbine, so obviously broken yet nothing was done.
3) Juggernauts, all these fools who don't deserve to play silver thinking they can play Gold. It deeply saddens me every time I see one in a lobby.
4) Consoles. No offense to anyone who plays on a console, you guys are great, but rather the companies. Making it nearly impossible for Bioware to release new content for the game. And Bioware's policy of keeping the game consistent across all platforms means that the game never truly could reach it's full potential.

In closing, I want to say that this is nothing against Bioware, or the game, it just sadens me that this game which I have grown to love end in such a way. But all things must end, and all things must move on.

Oh and this isnt a goodbye either, im still playing, just not nearly as frequently and for as long time spans.

Which comes back to consoles preventing BW from releasing patches that could have been used to improve the game.
ME3 would have survived much longer as PC only imo.

THIS. Last I checked quite a few of us are still a good amount and there have been a few rather large infusions of new players.

Times killing the game. Its 14 moths old you cant expect people to play it forever. Juggernauts and well the poor job they did on the reckoning dlc as a whole has made many lose interest quicker.

My sentiment is the exact same.

Besides, the OP only has four, the other thread had seven.

Well I once had a fl with over 50 who played actively 2 months ago.  Now its down to 16 and usually only 1-2 still actively play ME3 so many have left and the newer players arent outnumbering those who left.

My point is theres no reason that couldnt have been extended to say 2 years.
Its better for bioware its better for us.

Add new people?

I actually have more friends on my list that play ME3 these days compared to six or eight months ago.

As someone who stopped playing frequently as I use to. I just got burnt out when no more challenges or balance changes were announced. That and I was fairly disappointed with the last dlc. It was hyped as the biggest of all the dlcs and I found it short and sorta gimmicky. But I do play the occasional game from time to time.

Well we won't play it forever, especially after the company itself 'killed' support/balance changes/weekend events.

Personally, I still have a very active FL compared to last year once I started adding people from here.
And I'm still playing to try and accomplish some challenges I've set for myself :]

Good points, its not dead yet though, it still has some life in it, but I no longer look forward to playing it, and I no longer even refuse to consider playing other games anymore. I will be on and off for awhile yet (still going back through, got to do every class, with one of each gender -.-, starting in ME1), but I no longer find the same enjoyment of the game as I used to. I used to love playing QFI Widow, but now, I can`t hardly ever play that without feeling like I`m slicing my wrists in terms of damage output. I honestly wish that Bioware had never released the GI, or the TGI, or the AIU. Which is something I honestly thought I would never say, wishing somebody had not given more options to players. :(

You should blame piracy for companies like BioWare making multiplatform games rather than PC only games. If there was no PC Piracy no company in there right mind would want to make limited watered down games for consoles and as a result no one would buy consoles. Nonetheless PC should not suffer due to Microsoft & Sony's stupid & restrictive patching policies and many other companies do infact patch and support the PC version better than what BioWare did.

I find pick up games all time. Sometimes they're bad, most times they're fine. I think that judging a games playerbase by one's friendslist might not be an accurate overall assessment of a games popularity. Like yourself most of the people on my FL don't play any longer or that often. Still, there appears to be an active playerbase around.

This. I'm still enjoying the multiplayer. Trying old characters again, trying to max my manifest.

These days the only people that are still playing a game's multiplayer after two years are the hardcores and diehards.  Especially on console.

Or, if you count something like COD4, modders.

The majority of gamers these days don't have the attention span to play the same game for so long.  There's always some new game or big DLC coming out pretty much every week.

I think GJ is very harmful to overall game longevity with new players.
RNG store is pretty bad... but sometimes I cannot tell if it helps the game or hurts the game. Maybe 50/50

Its not just my fl I used to fill a lobby right away to host now they take 15+ minutes to fill and sometimes dont even fill up.  The quality of he player base in pugs has diminishined considerably since reckoning's release.  Before reckoning we could find great pugs even for platinum.  Now getting someone not using a juggy or sporting even a lvl 1 rare and gear equiped is cause for a celebration.

Yeah Geth Juggernaut is an over sized crutch. It doesn't do much for teaching new players the finer points of the game, it just lets them cruise through a Gold match without going down much. Great I guess if all they want to do is farm credits to unlock some cooler kits, but definitely not a good learning class.

If anything the juggy, AIU, TGI, and the other crutch classes are keeping this game alive. People with lesser gaming skill (which is a big portion of the playerbase) would have quit a long time ago if they couldn't play gold or plat for credits. I think the biggest reason it's dying is because instead of flooding every DLC with new kits (especially reckoning) they should have added more maps and missions.
People are getting bored running around on the same maps spamming the same powers over and over.
Personally I still love it
