I've been thinking about what killed ME3 MP the most...

Besides... the game isn't even remotely dead. There are still a bunch of new players showing up in EVERY PUG on Xbox... N7 20-80 is actually a pretty common sight on XBL. PC may be a different story... so maybe it was a good decision for it to be a multi-platform game after all then, since it's obviously gotten a much longer life on Xbox.

you said PC may be a different story but then you assume it.megabeast37215 wrote...

PC is getting a steady flow as well. Not as populous, but consistent.

That's good to hear
The only reason I assume it... is b/c the ones saying "the game is dead" are typically PC players. I'm glad if that's not the case however.

I'm a new MP player with less than 2 days of playtime and I actually like the RNG store. It's so much fun when you unlock that weapon/character you've been anxiously waiting to get your hands on.RNG store is pretty bad... but sometimes I cannot tell if it helps the game or hurts the game. Maybe 50/50

It's a pleasant grind until you've unlocked everything but URs. Then it starts becoming really, really, really annoying. I have a full manifest, and when i look back i just wonder how i could do it. The hatable thing about it isn't so much the time needed to fill the manifest as the uncertainty when you open the packs.

Which comes back to consoles preventing BW from releasing patches that could have been used to improve the game.
ME3 would have survived much longer as PC only imo.
You are so wrong... If this game was PC only then it would be dead allready.... Where do you think the most money is earned? I can give you a hint... It's not on PC.

BioWare started on PC. Without PC there would be no BW (and no ME). We could argue so far as to invention of wheel and lever. Who cares?Tupexi wrote...

The game is like an interstate highway...some hours the traffic is heavy other hours the traffic is light, but i've never been in a lobby that took forever to fill up. I'm always able to find pug games and while i do see alot of low level N7's playing, that could actually be a good sign that new players are still picking up the game and playing it.
My only concern with the last DLC was that i wish they added more maps...the only characters i use from reckoning are the AIU and Juggy and i rarely use those kits..my main kits are the phoenix and slayer vanguards...and Destroyer and Human engineers. Overall tho, there is still a nice variety of kits to be had, especially for new players that are just getting into the game.

The PC even has Mass Effect because of the Xbox 360. The console.

1) AIU wasnt that good to begin with. The shotgun damage bonus doesnt even work offhost and stimpacks are far better than repair matrix anyway. The repair matrix was overhyped and it did not take long for people to express their "humble opinion" about it. As a result the AIU got nerfed really hard to the point that the RM's shield regen is worthless, its duration without upgrading is worthless and it is grenade wasting power. I dont even see any AIUs anymore.
2) This is a singular example. If your friend asks if the ME3MP is any good, are you going to say "oh there is a so and so shotgun out of a dozen others in the game which kills the entire multiplayer". You go to a shopping store where in addition to hundreds of other things they are selling a certain brand of biscuits. Are you going to say that the entire store sucks because they sell 250gram packs of a certain flavour of a certain brand of biscuits? What kind of a nonsensical arguement is that.
And raider is more broken than reegar. L2P.
3) What do you mean by the word "deserve"? Who are you to decide how other people "deserve" to play the game. Juggernauts dont cause any inconvenience to anyone, unlike shockwave, biotic/electrical slash kits etc.
4) Do you realise that mass effect started on xbox? Mass effect is primarily an xbox thing. The xbox community is 3 times larger than pc. Mass effect 3 wouldnt even exist if previous mass effect games had not succeeded on xbox.
All multiplatform games have the problem of consoles holding back pc version of games. Mass effect 3 is no exception. Console versions holding back pc version is the norm; it is a baseline. It is true for all games and so cannot be used as an arguement against any particular game.

Behold the PC Master Race.
The Master Race's insistence on shiny graphics has held back the industry more than consoles IMO. Thanks for making the 'floating gun and two hands' genre so popular.

So you're saying that if the XBox had never existed that Bioware would never have even cam up with the idea, or would have simply released it as a PC only standalone?
Just becasue all multiplatform games have issues where the console restricts new content doesn't mean it's a non-issue. I don't want to deviate from the arguement, but to take another example, since many games contain sexist tropes and portrayals of women, does that mean that it's alright?

How many did they release? 5? Well that last one barely counts cause it fixed one thing.
How many patches have been released for Starcraft? For TF2? I don't know about SC2, but as of May 2nd there have been a total of 359 updates to TF2. Valve tried to keep TF2 in line with consoles, but the PS3 never got a patch, the XBox got barely any. TF2 is a great example of how a game that allows devs complete freedom of modification of their products can be hugely successful, even after 6 years. If the console companies were not so hell bent on milking their audiences for every cent then we could have seen some real fixes to real issues that exist within the MP. (e.g. Talon Fixes, fixing the warp + incendiary ammo bug, to name a few.)

I'd say the r n g store was a major factor too . Far too difficult to get ultra rares
But I'm still playing and I still see plenty of pug playing on x box

Yeah Geth Juggernaut is an over sized crutch. It doesn't do much for teaching new players the finer points of the game, it just lets them cruise through a Gold match without going down much. Great I guess if all they want to do is farm credits to unlock some cooler kits, but definitely not a good learning class.
There's more to this game than farming credits?

It doesn't feel dead to me. Besides the fact that I'm a newer player, I find a pug within 30 seconds guaranteed no matter the time of day on PS3.
But are they good pug's? PS3 is my system and the pugs lately have been horrible. And hosting has sucked bigtime lately. You can sit for half an hour trying to host plat and end up without playing anything because it's so dead. Or you get new players with starter gear trying to join platinum, which is just as bad as having an empty lobby.
