Haven't chimed in here for a while now, got to say that you did a tremendous job there, sir. Tali's somewhat screwed up alternate outfit was a definite way for me to confirm that it does work in-game.
Speaking from my first impressions, the changes are subtle and very well done. I did run into a number of crashes as well as the game being stuck in load-screens, though that may also be Origin acting up. Then again, haven't booted up ME3 in a while...

I was wondering whether you are planning to update your project-page at some point? May make for a clearer location for downloads as well as further instructions.

I would suggest that you download the latest mods as they have changed recently as I was also finding issues and trying to resolve them.  Please tell me where the crashes or stuck loadscreens occur but after to get the current mods as they stand now.

Ottemis had provided a nice instruction set for reweighting mesh skins so I went through and reskinned the various meshes I thought could cause problems.  I. Hope I got them fixed.

At this time I have had no issues with Ashley's uniform, armor, or her hospital edit.  I've also had no issues with EDI's alternate uniform (that I must admit I like much better after my mod), or Liara's default uniform.  I presume her default armor will work as well as Ashley's as the are the same with different textures.

I will go back to the OP soon and put a date of upload on each mod so people can see if the have the latest versions.

Well, I tried having a look at Tali, T'Soni, EDI and Williams while deployed in Fusion Reactor - one of those side-missions also available in MP -, and got quite a number of outright crashes there right before squad selection and before loadout (certain patterns emerged, Liara's alternate metal combat-armour would crash every time for one), and otherwise the game would be stuck in the load-screen loop after all that leaving me to tap back to desktop.
That last one happened quite a bit, yet I did manage to get into the mission proper a couple times.

This may have something to do with the .pcc-files modded being excessively larger than the original ones. I ran into similar problems merely editing audio-files within .pcc - which somehow keep turning up in the wake of Origin-updates.
Just noticed that now checking your romance-body modification, which may or may not conflict with the one audio-mod I did for that, although I doubt it, as the scene keeps freezing up on me in like manner every time even after dropping those two modified .pcc back into place.
Ah well, reason enough for me to pick that project up again.

If you're editing audio files, could you take a look at a little bug?  The Barrier power in Single-player is soundless when you discharge the barrier.  Could that be rectified?

Or is there maybe a way to hax the Coalesced.ini to use the multiplayer data (and make Barrier a bit less paltry compared to the other defense powers)? Does it make a proper discharge sound in MP?  I've never played MP alas...

Chashan, if you are using any of the upk files I initially released then stop. Many are nonviable. Second, I would ask that you re-run the mods that seem associated with trouble a second time but individually, not en masse, and retest. In the meantime I will test them. At this time I haven't released alt armor mods for Ash or Liara, only EDI and Tali have alternates released.

Mesh mods are still quite unreliable, there doesn't have to be a problem with the .MOD per say if you experience crashes or infinite load errors. There's several things one might try. I've written a troubleshoot area on my blog about it.

So to anyone testing these mods, they will NOT be as stable as texture mods are, mesh replacement is very fresh and they often cause issues with the TOC.bin resulting in crashes and infinite load issues.
From what I have noticed, once you have managed to apply one correctly it won't cause any issues, it's just potentially migraine inducing to get them working.

OK, it looks like Liara's default armor is crashy. I see that EDI's default and 1st alternate works (I'd forgotten there is yet another "alternate" that I'll have to work on):

I'll redo her armor setup.

I also just realized what's wrong with Liara's armor. It IS the same as Ashley's and that means it also has Ashley's bones which are somewhat different from Liaras. I will do a quick rebone and skin-wrap of Liara's default armor and give it another try.

That did it. Liara's armor now works. I'll upload the replacement mod in a few minutes and put today's date on it like I have with Ashley's romance body mod (new).

I've also discovered that I must have missed a pcc somewhere. EDI's default and alternate BLACK uniform are modded by my edits but the other alternate EDI with the white instead of black is not changed...but it is the same mesh as the black version. I'll have to search around to find it as well as EDI's 3rd alternate uniform.

And update: I've found the two other EDI variants in the DLCs.  I cannot produce a mod file to replace those meshes and I will need to do some research on methods to alter DLC.  My first attempt at the mesh import caused Origin to not allow the affected DLC to be loaded.

Why default Tali has 3 MOD files? Is it one mod that has 3 parts or what?

Because her default is used more widely than others and when I tried to combine them into bigger mods ME3explorer crashed, so I didn't trust the result.  So I decided to be safe rather than efficient.

Hey Getorex, I know I am late to the party, just wanted to say, great work on the mesh modding front!

Of course I have a very selfish reason for posting, but this seems to be the place where all the mesh/texture experts hang out and I thought it can't hurt to ask my question here as well. :)

In principle, I want to make models (especially Shepard) invisible in game, mainly for video recordings for other mods. Does anyone know how this could be achieved in an efficient way?
Here is the post I made about this on the ME3Explorer forums. I thought maybe this happened to someone here by accident while experimenting with meshes. If anyone can help out, it'd be much appreciated. Cheers and keep up the great work!

I can think of one way immediately because it has happened a few time to people, including me, by accident. It does involve working with the mesh - swapping surface normals so thaey all point inward instead of out.  I've never done it intentionally so I'm not certain if it would go far enough to do what you want and when it has happened accidently it has affected just portions of the mesh.  Those affected parts become transparent/invisible.

Well, easiest way is to wear armour/outfit without mesh assigned to it i.e. blank piece. You can do it with coalesced.bin editing. There might console command for it too. For Shepard that is. Getting rid of head is probably possible with save game editing. This of course does not apply to NPC's.

Tup3xi, that certainly sounds easier.

On another note of coalesced.bin editing...I have finished tweaking and Alliance uniform intended to work with Ashley - her head comes with a cleavage attached and part of that cleavage pokes through the default Alliance female meshes so I expanded the breasts on a uniform mesh just enough to hid/cover the cleavage - plus I added Ashley's bones to the mesh in replacement of the default. It is easy enough to simply import that mesh into required pcc files but it is something else to reassign the correct texture to go with it. I cannot eliminate the default Ashley uniform - it cannot be changed in BioH_Ashley_00_NC.pcc thus far because ANY other body gets a bit wrecked in the game even when weighting is corrected. Thus I cannot simply swap out default uniform texture for the texture for the Alliance uniform because it would end up wrapping on Ashley's default uniform at the beginning of the game. So it would seem it easiest to replace the default Alliance mesh with the new one for Ashley and then people would use edits to coalesced.bin to give it to Ashley...I guess, but I'm not an expert in coalesced editing.

Anyone who knows this part (the texturing part or coalesced editing) have ideas or suggestions?

Oh, of course! That trick with the coalesced sounds perfect for my purposes. I should have remembered this since I used to do it a lot with ME2 when I did outfit modding there. Will try it. Thanks heaps.

Here's a few shots of short "cute" hair on Ashley (hospital scene tends to be my main test-run scene for this stuff). I am also working on re-scaling a ponytail and another hair called "sexy" in the model list.

I think so too.  I'm also currently trying to get a "sexy" hair working but it was clearly designed for a character with a lot more scalp texture to underlay it because on Ashley it looks like she's either well into chemotherapy or suffered massive burns...thinned/barren hair spots.  I'm working with it to try and fill in the gaps in hopes it will work.

I like what you're doing with her hair. Any chance of getting the ME1/2 bun back?

Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to get the hospital shirt mod to work. I'll wait for the next release with the hair changes and try again.

I don't know about that specific bun but there are a couple buns available to try in ME3.  I'll see what I can pull from ME2 though.

Looks good geto! now you need to do that to Khalisah Bint Sinan al-Jilani and give her back her default hair.

instead of this

BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Hair_Short02.HMF_HIR_PROShort_MDL
BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Hair_Short02.HMF_HIR_PROShort_Diff

this is Khalisah's default hair code

Khalisah's old hair looks awful, it looks like it was painted onto her head
