Ultimate ideal would be Uniform 2 above, low bun, and Ajax armor.

Awesome work, guys.

Uniform 2 will required more editing than it took with uniform 1 (far left).  The hips on uniform 2 are tremendously different than uniform 1 (much higher/wider).  I'll get around to doing that one and I will even try the ME1 armor in the picture.

I'm going to be getting an art commission of Ashley with a long ponytail and wearing an Alliance hoodie

Someone made a long ponytail mod for FemShep, I'd love it if someone made a long ponytail mod for Ash, something like this - http://www.deviantar...liams-215862101

Just added my Allers edits to the mod list in the OP. Will be doing an update on Miranda again as I've found a handful of pcc files I missed.

Allers is, as yet, untested.  Someone, anyone, please let me know if they work in game.

I will now take some time to test the Ashley alliance uniform and then the hoodie. Talk amongst yourselves.

Hmmm. Ok, good new and a boo-boo. I put the Alliance uniform on Ashley in the usually troublesom NC.pcc. It worked without glitches BUT...apparently the texture mapping is wrong on the uniform so the uniform texture is horribly mis-mapped. The good news is that it is easily (though tediously) fixed. Here's the screenshot of the uniform with mis-mapped texture:

I'll make the needed changes the try again. Next time should provide a solid and glitch-free screenshot. That can be followed by a mod.

May be a problem...after changing the texture and norm for the uniform and trying to save the changes, every single time Texplorer crashes on me before it can complete the process.

OK...I've tried and tried. Every time I try and save the alliance texture in place of the ASHa texture (default uniform) it gets perhaps halfway through and then ME3Explorer crashes. I've updated svn, re-imported the texture...no good. Crashy. The result is that the above images remain.

This may require a combo of mod and Texmod to get Ashley's default uniform fully changed to an Alliance uniform.  Mod for the mesh, Texmod for the correct texture.

Getting closer (I think). I am rebuilding the Texplorer database as it thinks there are some pcc files that no longer exist (copies) so I am wondering if that is crashing it. In the meantime, I have also swapped in a ponytail hair for Ashley and gave it a go. Transparency is still screwing it up for appearance but it looks like it might not be bad if it looks good after I eliminate transparency on the hair texture.   Some apparent weighting issues on the shoulder boards...I'll try reskinning again with different settings in 3ds.  I deleted the original uniform's bones and reboned it with Ashley's default uniform bones.  That seems to have fixed the arm issue from before.

I think from what I remember the furthest anyone got with this was Inquiring on the ME3explorer forums, where he got the texture/mesh to appear perfectly, but the arms didn't have a texture or something.

That was Survivor_686 and we fixed his issue and the armor he was working with, the Ajax, is now working for Ashley.  I am currently having only a texture issue as the mesh itself if working fine.  I am fairly certain that this issue is beatable and that I will be able to offer a mod that replaces Ashley's default uniform with an Alliance standard uniform.

I'm wondering why didn't Bioware just give Ashley an Alliance standard uniform in the first place instead of that catsuit?

Why did they give EDI a blatantly sexualized voluptuous body? Why was Jack virtually topless (pasties with a string)? They bigged up the boobs and ballooned up the curves for the sake of a fanboy segment. The same people who loved the Tomb Raider games because they got to have a close-up shot, often, of a hot pants wearing Croft in a half-shirt.

I think most designers see it as a catch 22: if they create idolized beautiful women, they'll be seen as sexist. However if they create ugly, unattractive women then they'll come off as being misogynistic. From that, they decide on the lesser of two evils. Now you may be asking yourself an important question: "instead of going for 100% beauty or 100% ugly, why don't we see more middle ground design?" I wish I had an answer for that but I don't.

The culture of female characters seen as the lesser of the two sexes, or the object of desire has been around for a long time. Unfortunately evident by the fighting game controversy and women still receiving less pay then a man in the same job. As the game industry becomes more ingrained in popular culture, these issues are going to have to come to a head at some point. Many women don't feel comfortable working in those industries and with how many gamers treat female characters and to some extent women, it's no wonder why.

Well according to the art book, it was to give her "sex appeal"  as if she didn't have it before.

::Sigh::  When will developers learn that one can create an attractive, realistic-looking female charactger without turning her into a supermodel?

How bad is it that I still find that a step up form the outfit Bioware gave her?

The developers did what they did. If that was their "evolved' vision of the character than so be it. However, at least the developers are allowing (I mean I don't think they could NOT allow it, but anyway) fan edits like this to occur.

Not all characters are created equal and not all characters will be catered to all fans.

That being said:
DA2 - I found Aveline far more "attractive" as a character than Isabel.
ME3 - I had no problems with "catsuit" Ashley, but I would have loved the hair bun look. Which with modding, is possible.

PS to Getorex:

Fantastic work on your part, sir.  Continued success with your edits and glad some people can benefit from them.

I have the far left uniform edited for Ashley and ready to go in but I have to find the right uniform to replace it with. I cannot simply replace the default uniform with it without causing problems. The one thing holding me back from that is that for some unknown reason, one of the pcc files that contains the default uniform, BioH_Ashley_00_NC.pcc, will not accept any other uniform than the default. It will take an edited version of the default but so far only the default. So, the other way to get the alliance uniform in is to sacrifice one of her other options, like perhaps one of her alternate appearance pack uniforms. I have one in mind to try but not everyone has the same alternate appearance packs.

What ME3 version do you have? Collectors Edition? Vanilla? If we are lucky you and I have the same set and then I could swap in the alliance uniform and give it to you and everyone else with the same set. I'll also take another run at the problem pcc mentioned above and see if I can get it in. As for hair...I have several variants I'm trying in addition to the ponytail. There is at least one pcc/location in the game where I can't just drop in a new hair as is. It looks horrible so I need to see which hairs will look good in general with transparency cut out of the hair texture.

By the way, I even have Ashley's original ME1 hair out and modified to fit her head in ME3. It is not even close to the complexity of all ME3 hairs. But I will see how it looks anyway.

Simply don't replace BIoH_Ashley_00_NC.pcc because it's forbidden by developers with purpose to show off their helluva job making her look sexy. Replace the same uniform in Ashley_00 and Ashley_00_Explore so we can see her wearing this uniform at the Normandy. I wonder what pcc exactly contains Normandy-only meshes. Not combat. Like in ME1. Alliance uniform on the Normandy, Armor elsewhere.

I have no problem with female characters being attractive.  I want them to be attractive just as I prefer the character I play through to be an attractive male.  Or at least not ugly or fat or...  I just don't care for in-your-face blatantly sexed up female characters unless that is their role, ie the particular character is a hooker or is written to be some trailertrashy low rent sleaze.  None of the characters in the game fall into that category so they shouldn't be physically presented as sex bombs.

I too fall into the group who doesn't mind the so-called catsuit, however, except that Ash is active military and that uniform is unique in the game and its military.  Not a single other military character in the game has that uniform, hence it isn't a "uniform".  A goof but one I can ignore overall.

It's not that simple because I cannot also only replace the texture in the other pcc files where I replace her uniform.  Texplorer is all or nothing.  You can replace all the textures with hi res or different textures or replace none.  That means the catsuit at the beginning gets wrapped in the wrong texture, causing a visual mess, or the alliance uniform on Ashley gets the wrong texture throughout the game.  It's all or nothing.

Progress. Of a sort. I finally got ALL the ASHa uniform (catsuit) textures replaced by the Alliance uniform, normal, and speculars. I also stuck a ponytail on her. I need to replace her default hair texture with the ponytail texture and give it a go again. So, with her default uniform textures replaced, I get this glowing girl. Not being a texture guy I have no idea from where it derives or what I need to do to the texture to eliminate this effect. Anyone who knows want to pipe in an tell me what I need to do?  The weighting issue still exists on her shoulders (that's why the shoulder boards are bent in the middle).  I know why that is happening and one way or another I can fix that.  It's the texture thing that I am at a loss over.

Incidently, the rank on this uniform is incorrect.  It is Commander rank (two stripes/bars) rather than LC rank which, presumably and in accordance with modern rank depiction systems, should probably be ONE stripe, or some variation like fat stripe, thin stripe.

it's kinda funny how Ash's uniform is all white and has blue/purple arms, as if she dyed them that way. LOL

The texture issue can be fixed, I just need to enlist some help to do it because I'm stoopid when it comes to textures. I'll soon start the game again and get a shot with Ashley's hair using the correct texture for the ponytail to see how it looks. The uniform will still be glowing because that issue hasn't been dealt with as yet.

Impressive work. I'm especially interested in a femshep muscular model, the default skinny body on a vanguard looks ridiculous.
