It works beautifully. Here's the full face view helmet mod on Ashley. I will now make it work for other crewmembers too.

I just updated the OP with a Miranda bundle that covers all the Miranda pcc files outside of DLC (DLC mods to come in near future). Also included the above Ashley helmet edit into the big Ashley mod.

Ignore what I said earlier, I had brain fart there. Or actually I blame posting and reading with phone. :P Yeah, it works for Shep but not for squad mates.

Too bad.  MUCH easier to do a coalesced edit than a mesh edit.  I was going to add that you would HAVE to do a mesh edit if the helmet you wanted to swap didn't fit the new character properly but I guess it is simply you HAVE to do a mesh edit.  Period.

I am currently editing James' helmet to be the same as Ashley's.  I had hoped I would be able to use the same edit and just propagate it along but...Ashley's is not quite the same as James' so ... doing it again.  I should have a mod for it within an hour.

Thank you, but if you could see the mesh...  That was my learning curve.  James' helmet was done better.  I'll have to try again to swap them to see if I can give Ashley the new James shell.  The glass visor is a bit better and smoother than Ashley's.  I suppose if I cannot tell the difference when I test them both in a minute or two I'll just leave it be.

I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask for the UDK package regarding Ashley's ME1 hairstyle?

Am trying to apply it to the Ajax armour set for her (Thank you again for reboning the mesh and for all the advice)

Also I have to ask, how did you find her "Norm" textures? I checked the BIOG_HMF_ARM_ASH_R/HGRa folder and there is only the diff and spec textures. Weird huh?

Even weirder if you check the HGRb folder (the one that contains her pink and white gas mask) there is only the diff texture.

I'm not sure where it would be.  There is no character-specific HGR (headgear/helmet) textures for Norm or Spec.  I suspect that they are centrally located and the only thing that any character needs would be a diff for things like Blue, pink, grey, etc basic colors.

I haven't yet passed it through UDK.  I did the edits in 3ds for grins and as a prelim to possibly trying it in ME3 later.  I can make it real fast and put it up for you to download.  Give me a few minutes.

Oh and if you meant her hair texture rather than her helmet texture, then those textures all have HIR in their names.  If you do a texture advanced search in Texplorer by entering "HIR" you will get a list of all the hair textures.  Ashley has her own specific one.  The short hair, sexy hair, ponytail hair, etc, are a generic texture applied across the game for all characters that use them.

Uh...I looked and it doesn't appear I saved the ME1 hair after I edited it.  I used it to make the screenshot but only have the psk.  I'd have to do the edit all over again...but I wont get to that for a bit, until I've gotten the ponytail (at least) working for her.  I may lengthen that ponytail a bit too before I give it to her in a mod.

I have an Ashley hoodie edit sitting here, finished a day or so ago. I took the Femshep hoodie and overlay it on Ashley's hospital body and filled out the breasts and lats so that the dimensions were correct but I have no idea where to put it.

I suppose I could devise a way to have her wearing the hoodie on the Normandy and nowhere else. Since I figured out how to have Ashley have a ponytail in most scenes but have her hair down in the romance scene the same method would presumably work for the Hoodie. Copy all the Ashley default uniform pcc files to a backup location, run a mod that replaces it with the hoodie, then replace all the pcc files that aren't used on the Normandy with the backed up pcc files, run TOCbinUpdater and done.

I think.

OK...the ponytail doesn't work in BioH_Ashley_00_NC.pcc. It is invisible there but works fairly well in the romance scene. So I can possibly change her hair fairly broadly to a ponytail but have to leave a few pccs untouched with her default long hair.

I also edited the ponytail so it is longer than the default game ponytail. I'll try and get a good screenshot of it working (hopefully) elsewhere in the game other than on Earth at the beginning.

A hoodie would be a cool alternative to her catsuit.

Well I am close with the alliance uniform. I manually weighted the shoulder boards because skin wrapping wasn't getting it right. I now need to test the mesh in game though the texture is still not right. Ottemis was taking a look at it to see if she could fix it but she is also loaded with redoing all her previous texture mods to work with recent changes to me3explorer. It may be a bitbefore she can deal with it. Plus we both have run into a painful bug in texture modding.

Finally, I have a problem with a blanket replacement of Ash's default with a hoodie. She would ALWAYS be in a hoodie when not in armor. Not very military professional.

Would it be safe to assume you're working with Ashley_00_NC.pcc? With regards to altering it for use with Alliance uniform?

Also with regards to me3explorer. I haven't updated my SVN since this weekend. Am kinda leery of updating it now with all the bugs that are popping up.

So, could all helmets be converted to the glass version? Shepard and companions?

And do they animate with in the glass version? lip movement and such.

... NOOB QUESTION INCOMING...

What is SF or SVN I keep hearing in regards to Me3explorer?

Great work as always!

SF is the sourceforge release, basically official 'stable' version releases.
SVN is 'development' release, that one can auto update on change. Not always handy for users.

Why? What if I don't need that? How do I know exactly what to install? Is there a preview option in Mod Maker?

That pcc is one I often test with though I'm only certain of it being used on earth at the beginning.  That means I always have to go through the intro in full every time I test something in it.  Can't skip past things to get to Ashley and ca't create a save just prior.

As for svn that is probably not a bad policy.  I am in fairly close contact with its lead developer so when he contacts me and asks me to try his latest code I do.  His work is mesh handling, not textures and his updates usually help rather than hurt.

The particular N7 helmet Imodded can be used across all characters that have that helmet option.  I believe that the james version would work with the males and ashley's would work for females...with reboning.  Ashley has extra bones associated with her long hair.

Ok...I'll go back and also make the helmet a single mod.  It doesn't hurt to rerun the mod to get the addition and there is a preview of sorts though it only shows the script for installing and the hex data being imported.  You can install only parts of the mod with the "select some" option in the "Run" menu...the helmet mod would be part of the last of the list of selections not involving any hospital or Nor131_Rom_ pcc.  Check sometime later this today for posting individual mods in the OP.

Does the helmet has some unique parts in his code? So I can identify it and not to install.
