Does the helmet has some unique parts in his code? So I can identify it and not to install.

Yes but I'll have to check it.  It's the address of the change in the files being altered.  It would be a nice feature to have in mod maker to present the name of the mesh being affected...I'll have to ask if that could be added to the preview option.  The mesh being changed is HGR objects (head gear I suppose).

I'll have info and mini mods up within an hour.

OK...I've just created a Clear-Face-Helmet mod that I will be posting to the OP momentarily. It includes the Ashley and James helmet edits (for now). I'll add other characters to it as I get those meshes altered.

@Getorex

If I recall correctly, isn't the Ashley_00_NC also used when she is aboard the Normandy? Or Citadel?

Also my sympathies regarding running the opening scenario over and over again. At this point you've probably got the whole thing memorized. Or have begun to hate every character in those scenes.

@Getorex

Also just to confirm

LOD1: 165
LOD2: 250

Correct? (Am now replacing the Blue suit with the Ajax suit in combat situations)

That will work...it seems to actually be a bit more fluid than that.  SOME meshes in the game seem to have an LOD that is closer than ~150 while others are farther.  I use those two distances as an aim point and decide on the fly if I use LOD above for LOD 2 or LOD 3 in the game.  I sometimes use hires mesh for the first two and use UDK's LOD1  (equivalent to LOD2 in ME) as LOD3 in the game.

Hair seems to be all LOD0 in the game, for instance.

I go to the bathroom, get a cup of coffee, check email, etc, while I wait for the part I'm interested in.  Just as bad is checking the romance scene.  To check if the second half is OK I have to go through the final dream sequence again and again.  I can't leave at that point because I have to push Shepard through it to the end.  Ugh. I would LOVE for someone to find a way to mod that so we can skip dream sequences.

For some reason I can't find Ashley big mod and Ashley-Romance-Hospital.mod doesn't have a download link.

Damn forum editor...sometimes it deletes my links leaving only useless text there.  The  Giant mod link works again...it was updated this morning and is even giant-er now.

I've gotten most of the low-hanging fruit at the moment which means I will start focusing on DLC mods (EDI's edits, for instance, only affect her default and 1st alternate body...not alternates provided by Alt Appearance Packs in DLC though I do have edits ready to go into the DLC. It wont be as simple as running mod maker though.

The hoodie for Ashley, the alliance uniform, are paused at the moment until texture issues are corrected.

OK...just for grins and giggles I put the hoodie into BioH_Ashley_00_NC.pcc and ran it. No texture change so it looks bizarre with her default uniform texture wrapped around it but then I was interested in if it worked properly, didn't have any cleavage bleedthrough, or wonky limbs. All is fine with the mesh itself. I don't like it for this scene though because 1) they're in a high headquarters, admirals and other high rankers all over the place; 2) EVERYONE else is in a proper formal uniform but she's going to hang out in casual, frumpy sweats?  I think not.  The texture is another for another day:

OK...here are shots of my first DLC mesh edit change. I altered Liara's alternate appearance uniform by removing the goofy flip tail on the coat. You can see it is now pretty much like her default uniform in the back. I reduced the bulk of the forearm covers and reduced her breasts and butt. EDI's alt appearance armor is edited to narrow the hips, reduce the breasts a bit. I will offer this up as a zip file of the Default.sfar file from DLC_CON_APP01. The pccs inside it are already altered as needed and the PCConsoleTOC file already updated. It SHOULD drop in and work...provided you use WarrantyVoider's ME3 DLC bypass executable. It may spit out that you are missing updates to, or missing certain DLC but it should still work.

Well, everyone but James

But yeah, it looks pretty good.  Throw in some cargo pants like Shep has and that would be a great casual atire for her.

The hoodie comes with cargo/fatigue pants. There's no changing that from the model I was working with.

NOTICE! NOTICE! NOTICE!

I have updated the OP with this information too. There is a truly sucky, killer bug in the most recent versions of ME3Explorer, both "stable" release and the SVN. It makes it impossible to do both mesh mods AND texture mods. If you do any mesh mod and then try to do any texture mod or swap textures via Texplorer, you will screw the textures in the game for the associated character.

It happens if you run a mesh mod or import a upk into a pcc yourself and then to TOCbinUpdater yourself, or if you take a copy of a pcc that has a mesh mod in it and run TOCbinUpdater.  Texture mods by Mod Maker or Texplorer replacement will be DOA.

To run mesh mods you can use the most recent versions of ME3Explorer but to do texture mods you must use an OLD version. See Ottemis' texture thread for details. This means you must NOT use the textures I supply in the OP to go with the mesh mods using the same ME3Explorer.

I wasn't sure if by "cargo pants" you meant "jeans".  The hoodie looks like it is being worn over one or the other alliance uniforms, but given the shoulders are not bulked up I assume it is the "middle" alliance uniform from the earlier picture rather than the far left one.

In any case, such alterations look to be pretty DOA at the moment as texture mods are a total mess right now with the latest versions of ME3Explorer.  It's almost to the point of recommending everyone go back to using Texmod.

You do fine work, Getorex, no doubt.

But, even after I use your mods and your (updated) instructions, my game just ups and crashes no matter which version of MExplorer I use.  Initially, it just crashed opening Priority Mars (as I could see your mesh "corrections" everywhere else, even DLC), now it crashes pretty much constantly.  Remove your mods and the game runs perfectly.  Add 'em - boom.  That's including your new alterations.

Kinda sucks, because what I did see looked pretty damn good.  I probably have the one mutant copy of the CE or something, which would completely figure.

Just wanted to say, nice job (obviously it runs for somebody) and keep on keeping on.  ME3 can't but get better modded.

OK...does mars crash immediatly or at a certain point?  Which mods have you applied?  There is the Ashley mega mod that directly affects Mars, there's the new helmet mod for James that could affect things.  Later, in the facilitity you could run into Liara mod problems.  Let me know.   If it is Ashley's mega mod, I'll run it on myself again and try mars.

Some progress on the Ashley alliance uniform mod. I have been adjusting weights on her shoulders to try to reduce the bending of the shoulder boards on the uniform. Here's the latest (no texture...default Ashley uniform texture wrapped on it so it looks bizarre).

The shoulder boards no longer bend at a sharp angle in the middle between her neck and outer shoulder. They do still curve too much right at the ends but now I know what to do to fix that.

Shepard tells 'em to slap on the gear then it transitions... straight to crash.

 Which mods have you applied?

I applied the Mega mod for Ash initially.  Crash.  Took it off, fine.  On, crash.  Could be the helmets, as that had been my initial thought.  Any playthrough already past Mars loaded perfectly well.  Haven't had a chance to try the hospital one, am about to actually.  One moment...

The "Ashley-Romance-Hospital" mod seems to work fine - just went to see her in Huerta and aside from a minor clipping issue (hand in stomach), it ran without a hitch.  Unfortunately I don't have any saves that lead directly to her romance scene before Chronos, so I can't say as to the rest of it.

There is the Ashley mega mod that directly affects Mars, there's the new helmet mod for James that could affect things.

Such had been my thinking.  If you had that mod with the helmet for both Ash and James being optional, it'd be easier to test, certainly.

Later, in the facilitity you could run into Liara mod problems.

I had applied the Liara mod, but never got into Mars to test it.  I can tell you that her romance culmination before Chronos crashes every time.

Let me know.   If it is Ashley's mega mod, I'll run it on myself again and try mars.

So told.  Hopefully it's not something serious.

OK...there's a few pccs I modded that I'm suspicious about. They are helmet mods applied to pcc files that contain LOC_INT in their name. They were recently added to the giant ashley mod but I haven't had a chance to test yet. They are sets where the helmet is more of a prop than an active piece of equipment being worn.

I'll apply the big mod myself and run my mars mission.

OK...initially it looks like Ashley's helmet mod is broken but not James' or Shepard's. WTF? It worked as in imported upk. I will recreate the mod again and keep it separate from the big mod entirely.

Crap and double crap. I have taken down the Ashley Giant Mod, the ME1 face mod and the Helmet mod because, as they apply to Ashley, they are buggy. The upks of all items, the head, mask, armor, works perfectly on my system but the mods are dorked. Either there are sporadic errors during creation of the mods or during their application.

Shepard:

Incidently, animation of the faces behind the masks does occur...most of the time but sometimes you can hear them talking but see no movement.

I will be cutting the big mods down to smaller chunks again. ME3Explorer can't seem to do big mod lists.

Back to my PC... Should have time to tinker soon again. I'm kinda wondering if I should replace the Ashley's armour with Ajax. It's stupid that they didn't give it to Ashley too. Kaidan has it, James has variant of it and Shep has it. But not Ashley... Someone did the converting for it so that Ashley's cleavage does not show up?

Ajax is the armour of choice for my Shep in ME3, it would be nice to have matching outfits.

Modified Kaidan look, highly prefer it to stock.
