Back to my PC... Should have time to tinker soon again. I'm kinda wondering if I should replace the Ashley's armour with Ajax. It's stupid that they didn't give it to Ashley too. Kaidan has it, James has variant of it and Shep has it. But not Ashley... Someone did the converting for it so that Ashley's cleavage does not show up?

Ajax is the armour of choice for my Shep in ME3, it would be nice to have matching outfits.

Modified Kaidan look, highly prefer it to stock.

I helped Survivor_686 get the Ajax setup for Ashley.  As far as I know it works as a replacement for the Red/pink catsuit but I suggested he do a mod to replace her standard armor (which is the same as Liara's) with the Ajax so people could choose one way or another.  I believe he offers the upk and even the texture for it in his thread.  Beware of issues with modding meshes AND textures with later versions of ME3Exp.

Plus, the Ajax armor is in the collector's edition, not in all editions. I didn't have it until Survivor_686 brought it to me to help him get it working.

Getorex is being too modest. Without Getorex's help the project wouldn't have stalled out.

Yes, there is a mod that replace's Ashley's pink and white catsuit with an Alliance colored version of the Ajax suit. Whilst I still consider it a Work In Progress, it is serviceable enough for gameplay and cutscenes. Am right now trying to convince a proper helmet onto it.

Here is the project page:
http://social.biowar...m/project/8912/

Word of Advice: Make sure textplorer has indexed the DLC files. Run the MOD twice. The first time around only replaces the textures. Please let me know how it goes.

By the end of the week I should have the whole thing working. Failing that I'll just transfer the mod to replace the default blue-hardsuit.

OK...OP is updated with most mods broken back down into pieces. Run one, test a save game to make sure it doesn't break the game, then try another, etc. All I can do is repeat the same process again and again and hope that THIS time ME3Explorer wont bork the mod. These edits work on my system as upk imports (I cannot test the female shepard clear N7 helmet but the male shepard mod works - it is the same as James. Ashley and femshep share the same helmet too).  Also, Ashley's default armor is the same as Liara's with different textures applied.  Both work for me.

Here's a link to the ME3 explorer files am using (updated only Friday July 26, 2013). Should be the most stable version before the last SVN

Old.zip (27.7 MB)
https://mega.co.nz/#...XFc93NzvN7Oo_bg

Should work for the interim

More of the big mods have been broken down into parts for easier bug identification. PLEASE try them and let me know when/if one of them leads to a crash or infinite load screen. Mars is an excellent place to test the helmet mod for Shep, James, and Ash, Ashley's armor, Liara's default uniform, and the N7 prop mod (there is at least one location on Mars that uses the LOC_INT pcc that contains a prop N7 helmet).

If any have applied mesh mods using a fairly recent version of ME3Explorer AND you keep up with Ottemis' texture mods, then you know there is an issue with the recent versions of ME3Explorer. I go into it in the OP near the top and today I have added an entry on fixing the issue temporarily if you are using a very recent ME3Explorer...otherwise try the older version I link to in the same area of the OP. It seems to avoid the error.

New version of Liara's mods, broken up into multiple mods available, including an edited romance body texture based upon Ashley's to make Liara biologically correct.

ME3Explorer is hopelessly broken. Do not do any mesh mods at all if you want to be able to do texture mods. Even with the "correction" I mentioned in the OP to re-add the missing entry for "CustTextures0.tfc" it doesn't work. It is IMPOSSIBLE to add texture mods once you have done a mesh mod with any recent vintage of ME3Explorer.

I am quitting for now. No more mesh mods because it ruins any future texture modding capability. It does not help to go back to an older version of ME3Explorer if you have already used a recent version...unless you reinstall ME3 entirely. It cannot handle the reading and updating of PCConsoleTOC.bin.

That's very sad. This thread had a shining development. I hope Explorer will be able to stand on it's feet again.

Am gonna hold up on Modding for a while too as well. At least until this issue gets resolved (At the very least the coders know what is going on and they at least have the option of reverting to the older version of textplorer)

@ShepASSassin

It may take some time, but me3explorer will never die.

Sorry to hear that you gave up on the modding. :( I know the feeling too.

I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask for the Clear helmet mesh? Am experimenting with adding to my attempt with Ash's collector's edition uniform.

No prob.  I'll send you the link to the upk...or do you want the 3ds?

That helmet is the female version - it cannot be adapted to male versions. The neck is too small for one thing. I have a James helmet of the same type for males. I just swap bones as needed and do skin swaps in 3ds.

Thanks for the meshes and 3ds. Did you also apply a new texture with it or used an existing one? I might need those textures too please.

I didn't mess with textures for them. No need. I had Ottemis textures installed, they are the default texture for the default helmet so they are just drop-in replacement meshes. You only need to replace a texture if you replace a mesh with a totally different one. All my edits work with existing textures, I just add a few textures when it seems appropriate to fix the original (Ashley's romance texture, Liara's romance texture, Ashley's hospital texture). If I go with an Alliance uniform swap for Ashley's default uniform then there will need to be full texture swaps too.

Also, you cannot simply drop in new textures to go with a new replacement body/armor, etc. It will work sometimes (like the Ajax armor and texture SHOULD work as a drop-in replacement set for Ashley's default armor and texture) but other times there is something...different...about the environment that a particular pcc works for. The BioD_Ashley_00_NC.pcc is one. If you put any other uniform into that pcc and give it the correct texture then the texture will appear all wrong (glow brightly or have weird reflection effects). Ottemis knows of a few other pcc/locations where textures don't behave as expected (Javik's room on the Normandy is one such location, apparently).

Thanks for the meshes... Installed them. The textures are not working (thats on my end, I got to find the texture sources). Though her hair keeps poking through the helmet. Suspect that there is an option am supposed to toggle or something.

Here's some picture to show it in game.

Once I get the textures working and fix the hair issue it should be perfect

Funny thing I noticed when I first ran the clear face on everyone (on Mars). You can often see their mouths move when they talk but sometimes there is no movement. I noticed it on the shuttle ride from the Normandy to Mars with James in the pilot seat. He talks but his lips are motionless. Later in the scene, lips do move. Seems a minor and sporadic thing. Unless you are in a position to look a character in the face fairly closely when they talk, you wont notice anything.

The texture name has, I think, an HGRa in the name. Just do an advanced search for HGRa in Texplorer and look at it.

Not sure what the hair issue is related to. It doesn't occur with her default armor...there's nothing that you need to do at all, just replace the original helmet with the new. I'd think the helmet would be "worn" the same way the hair is worn so that it is one or the other. If helmet then no hair. If hair then no helmet.

HMF_ASH_HGRa diff and spec (don't know where the norm is).
