Yup, exactly like what was suggested in that thread! Unfortunate that it never got made, though...

Regardless, thanks for the link!

Would be a bit weird if you have Alenko in the game and you as shepard look just like him. Shep is a special case because he is the only morphable character with no hard set face. There is the default face which MIGHT be changeable...

I believe that with the less-than-desireable fix for Me3explorer problems I will go ahead and start in on mods again...but keep any texture mods that go with them separate and with an advisory. I will look at replacing default EDI with EVA, including swapping EVA's head in for EDI's. It is structurally the same except for the hair mesh. Should be fairly straight forward.

You mean like this? I honestly dont see the difference, i mean Shepard had to face his own clone who had his face from the last ME3 DLC.

Thanks! I'll see to it that you receive many internets!

This is a mod I've been wishing for for months, so I'd be extremely grateful!

OK...the EVA-EDI head swap may be a bit more complex than I anticipated. I may be able to do it but I cannot promise anything. It involves combining parts from the two heads into a new conglomeration. I haven't done that before.

I have the EVA-EDI head hybrid completed at the mesh level. EDI has hair instead of a plastic-like hair helmet. She has ears instead of round...hearing devices. I'll have to tweak EVA's texture to work like EDI's did. It will take a few days to know whether this is workable or not.

Am also continuing to update mods in the OP. Several have defective components and I am re-creating them to try and get versions that are solid. The EDI-EVA-combo mod is particularly bugged out. ME3Explorer really makes a lot of mistakes in making mods.

Here's EDI's new head thus far - no texture applied (it will need a good bit of doctoring to make it work with the new hair).  Noticing now that EVA has some truly enormous ears.  I'll see about shrinking them down a bit but right now the head itself is done and reskinned.  At that level it looks good.  The trick is textures now:

^ Wow! You, sir, are amazing! Good luck with the texturing.

In the meantime, I'm going to try applying the Ashley romance texture. So, should I be using the older me3explorer for that, as you said? And is it applied through texplorer or mod maker?

Edit: Okaaaay, I think I did something wrong. I ran the mod under mod maker, looked at the romance scene, and Ash's face in "the morning after" was... scary. Lol. Also, her bra was still on.

I tried running it with the old ME3explorer linked by ottemis, but I think I got lost somewhere in between. I backed up my pre-modded CookedPCC folder and am replacing it with that at the moment.

Ah...the texture needs to be recreated with the OLD ME3explorer.  The new one will screw things up.  Ashley's face was scary in the morning after?!  I've never seen that but I can check the model to see if what I think happened may have happened.   Could you post a screen shot?

Aww, I wish I would've gotten one, but I was so traumatized (I'm a hardcore Ashmancer. LOL), I immediately canned the CookedPCC folder and replaced it with my backed up one... it works normally, now.

Basically... it looked like her face got burnt up and then healed over. Also, her eyes were lacking texture. It was quite traumatic. Oh, and her bra was still on. LOL

But yeah, probably recreating the mod with the old me3explorer might fix the issue.

Ok, since you asked (and you've been SO awesome about creating the alt Eva head for EDI), I thought I might as well repay the favor!

:)

I re-installed the mod and went back in and brought this back after using some epic photoshop skills to cleverly disguise my Shepard as Yao Ming.

Ah...I recall that. There was something wrong with the mesh model used, a texture was baked into the skin and there was no way to remove it so I had to start from scratch. I obviously goofed here and used the old model again (I thought I had deleted that damned thing). I'll give it another go.

In the meantime I THINK I'm making progress in jiggering the EDI textures with EVA textures so that I can get the head properly textured with hair while still within the hard confines of the number of textures that are available for the EDI model.  Basically, EVA is a "normal" character mesh with a full head and a separate hair mesh that goes onto the head.  EDI, on the other hand, has a head, period, that has a shell of hair that we are familiar with.  It means that she has one less texture than EVA has and there is no way I know of as yet to change that.  I tried hex editing in an extra texture into one of her pcc files but that resulted in crashing ME3Explorer and no way was I going to try it in game.  I then tried replacing her visor texture with a hair texture but that resulted in the same thing.  Now I am trying to combine the hair texture into her eyelash texture (doubling the texture image size) so that they will both be textured as hair.  I SEEM to be close to success, at least in Blender.  I then need to translate that over the 3ds and then UDK.

Really?  Does that mean you will pingpong back into a scramble to get your mods updated to 473 now?  Do you know if texture mods put together in 472 will function as intended when applied with 473?

Because all version between 462 and 472 had that dlccache dependency on the treegeneration for the basegame, it's highly advised to rebuild anything with the fixed version as that doesn't have the dependency anymore (it required everyone to have scanned the dlc in the past even if they only wanted to exchange basegame textures).
I'm vanilla-ing my install atm, to start rebuilding my mods after with the new version. Any residual issues should go directly to the bugreport forums. I can report back once I've started if you'd like.

Please.  I wont get to the textures here until I've fixed a few of the remaining mesh issues.  On that note, I will get the Ashley romance mod fixed later this evening...after I've purged my system of the bugged out model that caused it.

Sweet! Should I continue to use the old ME3explorer for the texture or am I reading Ottemis's post correctly that WarrantyVoider and company fixed the issue with textures in a recent edition of ME3explorer?
