Not that I'm ungrateful for any mod regarding Tali's face, but I can't help but feel that, perhaps the concept of a mod that put's Tali's face there all the time throughout all the times she is present, is perhaps not a good thing.

Thinking back to the fan feedback from after ME3 was launched, the key points were that we never got to see Tali's face revealed. And the two times in ME3 where this reveal would have had the most impact were, by and large, the time when Tali took off her mask on Rannoch, and/or Shepard's and Tali's love scene.

Not a critisism. More of a question as to how the designer of Tali's face see's how to incorporate this mod in the largley cinematic galaxy of ME3. Because I can see how having her face revealed is a plus..... but having it revealed all the time, from the first time we see her? I just wonder if the mod will cater to the cinematic aspect of ME3, or be a mod where Tali's face is always "on"?

Well the beautiful aspect of any mod is that if you aren't interested in what it does, you don't have to use the mod. :)

Personally, I'd like to see her face through all three games and consider the whole mystery aspect behind the quarian faces to be fun but ultimately too silly. They've only been exiled for 300 years, technology would have plausibly kept record of what the quarians looked like before the suits and really there is no practical reason for the masks to be so - concealing.

Perhaps use Eva's face texture on EDI's face too so she has flesh rather. Than grey plastic.

If so, make a one without her mole near lips too, It may look ok on Eva, but not on EDI (although strange since it's the same body), but for some reason I just don't like it.

It's been a while since I came around here, but IIRC the normal map for the Ashley romance mod was... half-baked. The original has more contoured skin in the normal maps, and those are just baked out in the replacer's.

I opted to try photoshoppin' on the original normal to scrub out the bra as best I could, and do some other work. If I can re-learn how to extract the speculars or any other shader textures, I might be able to scrub the bra out of them too.

However, I can't seem to get the hang of installing textures... if I do the texture works, could you or someone else re-pack the topless Ashley romance package with the better textures?

That would be fine. I'd always welcome texture help or improvements.  As it is I'm thinking of revisiting the Ashley romance mod.  It has been a while and my mesh modding skills have improved since I first did her. It has also been a while since I played the game but I recall there having been some minor issue with texture shafing across seams.  I think I can correct that at this point - it's a mesh issue, not a texture issue.

In short, if you do the texture improvements you mention, i'd be happy to pack them up for use (it really is simple).

On that note, the Ash romance mod is giving me an error when ME3Explorer installs it:

Couldn't find entry: F:\\Origin\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\CookedPCConsole\\CustTextures0.tfc in PCConsoleTOC.bin.

Should I be concerned?

What version of me3explorer are you using?  Hopefully the latest svn.  Two things to try. First is just create an empty file there with that name with notepad, run TOCbinUpdater and try installing the mod again or, more likely necessary, delete your me3explorer entirely, run turtle svn and redownload the latest svn of me3explorer and then start texplorer, let it do its database creation (get coffee, browse the web, get drunk, whatever, while it goes) and then install the mod/textures. That error should disappear.  Note: I had to do the second thing recently for same reason. Now all is well.

When you get that error it is highly unlikely that any texture you just tried to install actually installed.:pinched:

Quick update...I started over with the EDI-n-Eva head combination mod. I got into a painful dead-end with the previous attempt trying to get UV maps untangled and setup properly so...started over and am almost done with the main part:

Image IPB

This is EDI's face on Eva's head (scalp). I haven't done the eyeball or eyelash texture mapping yet and this is her head/scalp...the hair is a separate mesh (right now). I am trying to decide if I will delete the actual scalp portion of Eva's head and replace it with the hair mesh or leave the hair mesh as separate.  If I stick the hair on as part of the head (removing the scalp) then I will also probably give EDI her visor back as well.  This is also just a test-drive of Eva's skin texture over EDI's face.  If I go this way in the final I will eliminate the mole on her upper right lip. I may try another version with the standard EDI grey skin and change the hair color (and eyebrows) to simple black. I intend to give EDI her normal eye texture too rather than Eva's eyes.

Quickly imported Eva's hair and colored it black to give a suggestion of what it would look like:

To hell with it. I deleted the scalp section of the mesh and imported the hair mesh and combined it all into one head mesh for EDI. This is it currently:

Image IPB

Next up, mapping the eyes and eyelashes.  THEN retexture the face using EDI's grey skin color to decide which version to go with for the mod.

I have the ME3Explorer version made on November 12, 2013. Is that the latest?

Perhaps MEHEM is monkey wrenching the works?  Should I have ME3Explorer do its inventory thing after installing that?

MEHEM shouldn't hurt ME3explorer.  Your ME3explorer is pretty recent so not sure why you get the issue.  You would be better off to simply delete ME3explorer, directory and all because Texplorer is such a pain the butt to fix once it goes off.  Use TurtleSVN to download the svn version, do not use a static version, and then run texplorer.  It will build up the database from zero and create the missing file.  You will likely be able to save some time if you have a DLC cache created by texplorer before.  In any case, no texture mod will work without that stupid broken file.  A very recent version should even have a new button on it to rebuild the texture database so if this happens again, you can rebuild it without deleting, re-downloading, reinstalling.

Eva to EDI blend mod is nearly finished (for the flesh-toned version). I've mapped everything and now need to weight the head/face for animation. I'm using EDI's eyes, Kasumi's eyelashes (look funny here, in-game lashes render properly), Eva's skin and hair.

TortoiseSVN is not an option because of a router with closed ports that is beyond my control.

Drat.

OK, then you are stuck downloading the most recent version you can get.  A December build, if possible.  THE most recent version has a "rebuild database" option in Texplorer so you could simply click on that if there's a problem and (hopefully) get the whole thing corrected without deleting/reinstalling.

@Geto, could you possibly change her hair by mesh or texture to add to EDI with human skin the fringe to her hairstyle? She has the illusion of the fringe on her default metal look with dark stripe on her forehead from her left to right and I think that's what makes EDI more attractive than Dr. Eva.

ShepAssassin: Let me finish the current version first and then I could try a different hair mesh (I have an idea for an alternate that isn't radically different from Eva's but provides the part and bangs for EDI).

I am currently doing an EDI-the-Grey vetsion where I go with the same head and face as above but use EDI's default grey skin tone and, so far, I like it more than Fleshbot EDI, plus it keeps her more closely tied to original but with ears and hair.

First draft, EDI the Grey:

Need to tweak the scalp texture a bit yet to get it to more closely match her face but this is close.

Taking a small break to clear my palate, I'm making progress on a silly project:

Mass Effect: Human Revolution mod. Bringing Adam Jensen to ME3...at some point for some reason. All boned up (with Kaiden's skeleton) and taking weights.

I have his face/head texture but not his body.  If anyone has access to a body mesh texture for Adam, would you please pass it along?  :D

It's happening... B)

Hah!  Nice.  As it turns out, I DO have all the textures required to get him rendered in 3ds and in the game.  Still doing the body weighting though that is the easy part and nearly complete.  The hard part is cutting him up into UV maps to work with the textures...they are fairly complex (lots of pieces and parts).

VERY close now for EDI the Grey. Tweaked her scalp texture to closely match her default face texture. A few finishing touches on her face weighting and then I'm ready to test her in the game.

She works! Mostly. All I've got to deal with is some texture issues it seems. I missed a few somewhere so they are not applying properly, or fully, but the head with hair works. I didn't replace the visor texture with an eyelash texture (yet) so the visor texture applies to the eyelashes in the shots...I'm almost thinking that could be a decent variant on the mod. One with proper eyelashes, one with the glowy eyelashes...thoughts?

Lookin' good, I'd have to see the eyelashes in a "completed" version to offer an opinion but I'm down with visor replacements.

Change but not really for the better. I HATE texture stuff. It makes no sense to me and is not simple and straight-forward so I have no idea how anything I do will turn out in operation. Now the scalp portion (neck, upper forehead, hair) glow but at least the diff image and norm seem to be working.

I think I got all my problems sorted. Just needed to purge everything completely: Explorer, CustTextures, DLC mods, the works.

I notice that Kaidan doesn't have a clear-face helmet mod... Was he overlooked?

Finally. I got EDI with head mod to render properly in-game. I had to turn the spec map black to do so but I got it. What's left now is a version with actual eyelashes, some minor edits to her lip weighting, tweaking her teeth to be white(er) and show, and to get the normal map to apply to the full head of hair rather than just the front bangs.
