Liara's helmet for her standard outfits works great (so much better than that damn breather mask), but the helmet mods for either her From Ashes or AAP outfits don't work - applying them to the game causes ME3 to lock up and freeze in a persistent loading loop.

Try this and see if it fixes it:

In ME3explorer, go to Developer Tools -> TOC -> DLC TOCbin Updater
Image IPB

Then go to File, "Check and Rebuild SFAR", and navigate to the DLC in question's folder and run it, then try the game again
Image IPB

Thanks, that fixed the loading problem and the helmet appears for those DLC armors in the game now. However, it looks like the texture maps for those helmets are getting displaced:

I don't get it.  The mask texture SHOULD have been replaced throughout the game with the main game mod.  If you've previously applied a texture mod that only address some pccs/uniforms, it could have bifurcated the (ridiculous) database so you have multiple entries for the mask texture (if you look for it in Texplorer) and as a result, the helmet mod didn't apply to those...or something to that effect.  I will post the texture for the helmet soon and you could do a Texmod "replace largest texture" mod and manually apply the texture to those rogue textures.

Is anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: Stupid stupid forum, why the hell aren't you letting me edit posts? -_-

Anyway, regarding the mask texture issues, this is just a guess, but I'm assuming that the DLCs use their own mask textures for those armors, which would not get replaced by the mask texture replacement that you're using for the main game's breather mask.

Thanks to Ottemis taking it on herself to tweak a certain texture I had issues with long ago, I may soon have another new Ashley mod to release.

@AVPen - I ran a check on my system for HGR (generic) and the only ASA_HGR_LIA (liara's "helmet" that, in ME3 means mask) texture listed is the one I replaced and the information on that texture says it is in all the pcc files I modded AND the two DLC sets (Liara_03 and Liara_04). I suspect the issue may lay on your system...do a Texplorer advanced search for HGR and the ONLY ASA (Asari) HGR that should appear is Liara's breather. There should be no other instances (unless you previously ran a mod that does something to them...or if your earlier difficulty/error with doing the mod goofed something up. You MAY need to do a "rebuild database" - far right selection in menu when you open Texplorer - it sucks because it takes a LONG time and you will need to rescan the DLC rather than use the existing set :( I suspect that if you do this you will ultimately fnd multiple entries for ASA_HGR_LIAa diff, norm, and spec when there should only be one each.

Basically, the new Ashley mod will be something like this...replacing her default uniform.

Why would Ash wear something like the standard Alliance uniform? It's not like she's in the Alliance or anything...

Good idea. :-)

Now if she could also put this on in ME1 while on the Normandy... I know, I know, I ask too much.

Getorex: Your Liara helmet mods were actually the only mods that ever installed with ModMaker, but just to be safe, I did a complete refresh of my ME3 files from a backup (had made a copy of the original vanilla files a while back on a second HD, in case I ever tried to start doing things with ME3 Explorer). Also checked through TexExplorer for the texture file you mentioned and found two instances of ASA_HGR_LIA: one is called ASA_HGR_LIAa (it has blue outlines on the visor) and another that is called ASA_HGR_LIAe (which uses red outlines on the visor instead).

I believe that the second red texture is from Liara's Collectors Edition outfit, which may be where the texture problem with your DLC helmet mods are originating from on my system.

And with regards to replacing Ashley's regular outfit with an Alliance uniform, have you seen the work by this mod yet: http://www.nexusmods...ect3/mods/157/?
(they did manage to replace Ash's outfit with a standard Alliance uniform, though they also replaced her face and hair as well)

If we're replacing Ashley's uniform, would it be possible to make use of the useless assets which were Ashley's "uniform" and give them to (albeit in a retextured black and white) a certain female character who thinks she's hiding from Cerberus forces by wearing a Cerberus uniform? Or is Ashley's uniform weird and complicated with the neckline and such?

AVPen: I cannot view the mod you refer to but replacing her face...Ash doesn't need a face replacement. The very idea is sacrilege, vile, sick, and wrong.

AVPen, also I don't have a LIAe - no Collector's Edition. That would be the likely source of the problem. I will supply the textures so you can correct the issue but I am puzzled that the mesh is changed to the helmet. As I don't have that version, I could not swap meshes...or is LIAe just a texture variation on a DLC_HEN_PR?

If I provide the texture, could you generate a texture mod for people with the collector's edition? It could be added to that dlc packages as a variation. I cannot do it.

The mod descrip says it's the Ash face from ME2, maybe it is, but the nose in some pics looks a little... wonky. It's close though, it's not a total face replacement.

MACharlie1 - that would be an idea...or her current uniform texture could be modified to a different colr set and with no hint of Cerberus on it.

Almostfaceman: that's ok then...but odd. Her ME2 face is essentally her ME1 face which is now her ME3 face if my ME1 face restore mod is used.

Ghost, the citadel dlc is only affected by the dlc pack003 mod. The main game mod SHOULD change the texture universally. I'm not sure why it isn't changing. Do you have only one NKDc instance?

Is anyone else having this issue with the Traynor/Femshep mod?

Ghost, that is proper. You should have a diff and norm (and spec) for all textures...they all go together to make a functional material with color, depth, and effects like shine, dullness, glow, etc. I do not know why the textures are not applying. You have a very recent svn of me3explorer?

Ghost1017 and AVPen and others...here's the textures for Liara's helmet. You can install them via texplorer (replace largest image, then go to file and "save changes" and wait until it says "done").

I cannot edit entries any longer...the text field is black and unusable so I cannot update the OP with the Liara texture file for mod downloaders.

Ok, did some experimenting with Texexplorer and ModMaker and discovered a few things:

- the helmet mod/s do not replace Liara's breather mask on her CE outfit (she still has the mask, which I sorta figured as much since the mods were for her standard outfits, her From Ashes armor, and her AAP armor)

- replacing the textures for the CE visor (which is just a texture swap for the standard ASA_HGR_LIA visor texture, except it's red and not blue) does NOT fix the texture displacement going on with the new helmet with either her FA or AAP outfits. This means that the ASA_HGR_LIAe texture is not the root of the problem (as far as I can tell, unless the naming of the texture is an issue) and there's some other issue on my system that's affecting how the textures render on the AAP and FA helmets.

So.... back to the drawing board?

What is the name of Liara's pcc in the CE that provides the red visor? What is the DLC called?

AVPen, your glitch is odd. In a default game LIara should ONLY have a visor, with the color scheme being the only difference and THAT probably being named a different subversion of ASA_HGR_LIA(x). If have the HELMET but not the correct texture, then I have to assume that the ONLY difference in your DLC vs mine is the name of the HGR texture, LIAe for you, only LIAa for me. If you replace all three LIAe textures with those I supplied i the zip file above, it SHOULD correct the issue. If you find other versions of ASA_HGR_LIA on your system then those too would need the textures changed.

@Getorex - yeah I figured the ME2 Ash was the same as the ME1, but it still looks a little different in that mod. It is weird, as you say. I'll post a pic on this quick reply form and see if it works:

@Ghost1017 - for strange issues and feedback I think you meant Getorex. :-)
