I will see if the Alliance uni is stable for use today. I welded the vertices around the shoulderboards because weight issues kep producing tears in the mesh in that area and the tweaks I was doing wasn't fixing it. Rather than keep doing that I decided to shortcut and eliminate the seam. I was warned off of doing something like that a long time ago for reasons I no longer recall. The uvmap remains intact so I'm hopeful it will work fine. If so I will do the same for my various mods where seams tend to be an issue.

Anyway, with the alliance uni will come an edited version of Ashley's long hair because of the clipping issue mentioned above.

I look forwad to it.

Ah! Azar at Nexus got back to me and gives me permission to use one of his hairs in my next Ashley mod (alliance uniform, different hair). I was reworking Ashley's long hair into a ponytail (to make sure it was coherent and proper length by using her default hair and pulling it into a ponytail) but it is going to take me some time (week or so) just to do that. This makes it MUCH faster for a release.

Running tests now and hope to get the whole thing out no later than tomorrow.

Alliance uniform - welding the seams did no harm and it works fine. I can go with it now (will tweak the UV mapping a bit for a subsequent release) so now just need to test the hair for the full mod. The long hair tweak needs a little more tweak to reduce clipping into the shoulder boards but it is better than default.

The Skyrim hair is 99% at this moment. I need to tweak the mesh a tad to fix odd appearance artifacts from certain angles but I think it will be perfect.

Still a lot of loose hair for my taste, but still better than the original hair style.

And I looooove the uniform Image IPB

survivor_686: wow. It's my mod and all but I do love that mod. So simple but so substantial. It FEELS bigger than it actually is. Nice work. I'm using your armor mod on my own game in place of the Shade armor.

WIthout further delay (finger's crossed, gulping loudly), here is the Ashley Alliance uniform mod (finally) with hair mod to go with it. This is version 1.0. I THINK the uniform is fine but the hair will still be tweaked a bit. Thanks to Azarkiowa for permission to adapt one of his excellent Skyrim ponytails to Ashley and ME3. This file contains the uniform and hair mesh as well as textures to go with it. The hair uses the default Ashley hair texture modified (I dicked with the alpha channel a little to make the ponytail hair look better) and it should still work perfectly with her default hair. Her default hair still is used in the romance scene and the Citadel casino scene. http://www.mediafire...ce-Hairv1.0.zip

Slight tweak to Ashley's new hair. Added the little side-burns blocks from her original hair and slightly adjusted the hair strands, the right one now curving up to go over her ear (similar to her default long hair).

Sorry could I get the UPK and texture files, please? I used the "Transplant" method you advised me on earlier, so the textures and mesh will go to the wrong references.

But I can tell from the screenies that it looks great!

I know , right? When I first put in the game, it just immediataly felt so right.

Am right now using it to replace her blue suit on missions. Using the Asset Explorer ,you can replace individual PCC file's textures. So on missions you can use the spectre suit, whilst on the Normandy she uses the blue suit.

Am planning to release this iteration of the mod, soon. With a proper acknowledgement of yourself and Tarkov of course.

Ah yeah, that makes for a pain in the butt.  I'll get them up for you later today, I've got a lot of damn snow to shovel right now.

I haven't messed with asset explorer much at all yet.  I'll have to ceck it out as it sounds quite useful.

Hirm, having quite a bit of trouble getting this to work. I think it's because I've got the collectors edition?

It's the textures that are causing bother. I've tried the process twice, the first time it installed the models but still used the default uniform texture. The second time it was just all black.

It's also lead to the game complaining that it cannot authorise From Ashes and "Citadel Base Package" :(

You need to install the two dlls (placed in the win32 binaries folder for the game) to fix the authorization issue: http://www.mediafire...khu/binkw32.rar
Install those dlls and you can mod your DLC to your heart's content and never get the authorization issue again.

As for the texture issue...I don't know.  It's working on my system but it is fragmented so perhaps that's the issue.

The Collector's Edition MIGHT be an issue (the pink uniform?).  Here's the textures for her uniform.  You may need to install them yourself via Texplorer  http://www.mediafire...rm-Textures.zip

Start Texplorer, go to "find texture" and do an advanced search for ASHa.  The list of her textures for that uniform will appear.  Select diff, right click on the image icon in the Texplorer window, select "Easy" and do an "Add biggest image" and then select the diff file in the zip provided, then the same thing for norm and spec.  If you have multiple entries for ASHa diff, norm, spec then do the same thing for each but save changes at each one.  If you try to do the changes and save them all you are likely to crash Texplorer and have to start again.

Anyone else have the problem?

Great work! Have'nt tried it yet, but Ashley is definitely looking more like her good old self :)

Just wondering: would it be hard to add a hairbun to the existing hair on a custom femshep? (profile pic-related). I've been trying to recreate the Icobun hairstyle from ME1 and ME2 for ME3, and have gotten quite far just using gibbed. Only the bun itself remains.

I've been trying to wrap my head around blender and 3ds max for the last 4 hours, reading toturials and what not, but I just cant seem to get it. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. It doesnt have to be fancy or anything. A black blob would probably be better than the present situation...

Overall the new suit works out great. Very minor tearing on her left breast. No collar tearing, which always happens to me. Here are images:

Heh.  It took me a good, long time before I really got Blender and 3ds well enough to do useful and working things so don't feel bad.  It's one of those things you just have to start doing it.

I use Blender when I want to do fine detail work and want to get it done fast(er).  I then export the mesh as an obj file and import that into 3ds where I do bones and skinning and weights.  I am still getting used to working with both and still probably not doing things the easier way.

I'd wonder if Church's Ashley combat bun could be reworked to work with femshep.  The head shapes of the females are all fairly close so it shouldn't take too much to make it fit...the question I don't know the answer to is making it actually work in the game.  I'd thought it might be easiest to replace default Shep.

The chest thing should NOT be happening.  I edited her head mesh to prevent that (as well as editing the uniform to prevent it).  That is my ME1 Ashley head isn't it?  If it is ELE's then I can guarantee it wont work because of that very issue (I edited both together to make them work).  If it is my ME1 head mod then I must have used the wrong version in the mod.

I just generated a big mod (again) with hair and face tweaks to make both work (hopefully) without artifacts and just plain look better (remapped the UV for the hair).

ELE's Ashley head has no chest area because the ME2 head had none.
Also, i'm 95% sure Church's combat bun is a Femshep CC hairstyle, likely only slightly edited to fit Ash's headshape.

Well, I used 4 hours and cant really say I even got started. I dont think I'll ever get it to be honest, but thanks to Lazarus and gibbed it at least feels like Im playing my shepard. It's just missing that finishing touch...
