Attempting to mod actual body meshes

You could use it to export the ME2 hairstyle and import it into ME3. It's been done before with the kelly hair and original cyberbabe, I'm sure you could work it out =)

The chest thing should NOT be happening. I edited her head mesh to prevent that (as well as editing the uniform to prevent it). That is my ME1 Ashley head isn't it? If it is ELE's then I can guarantee it wont work because of that very issue (I edited both together to make them work). If it is my ME1 head mod then I must have used the wrong version in the mod.
I just generated a big mod (again) with hair and face tweaks to make both work (hopefully) without artifacts and just plain look better (remapped the UV for the hair).
Doh! I just realized that I used the default ME3 mesh. I must have reset the face after my last escapade.
By the way could I get the raw ME1 Ash face? I do recall the initial file had some mapping issues.
Thanks again. And may I say the uniform is a work of art.

Otherwise just gimme a poke, I don't mind. If you really can't make sense of it I could have a go at it for you, but it would take me a while to get around to it.jli84 wrote...

Ok, thanks! I'll give it a go myself first. It's not really a full on hairstyle; it's mainly just a scalp-texture. That's why I've gotten so far with gibbed. It's just adding the bun that's a problem.

Its weird. Aside from that one scene at the Citadel, the mod works perfectly. The tear is minimal and mainly flexes with movement.

On the Normandy, you can't note the tear. Overall its damned good for a V1 release. Its definitely one of the better mods out there.
If I had to venture a solution: Shrink her chest area entirely for the face mesh itself. Basically everything south of the collarbone. The Mesh for the uniform has its own "boobs" and most of the armours cover up the chest area nicely. No one will notice it and it should work perfectly.
And may I tip my hat to you.

You shouldn't have done that (the ME1 head thing. Not your fault but the version included in the Alliance mod itself is fitted for her Alliance uniform. The generic ME1 face works with the default uniform and was based upon that head. Try this if you don't want to do the whole mod again: http://www.mediafire...1-Face-2514.upk

Those screenshots made me wonder, have you considered replacing the face of Ashley's sister (or is it even possible, given that she's is just an NPC?) with a face that looks a bit more like Ashley?

Anyway - wanted to thank you (I know I'll get these working, so thanking you first is perfectly appropriate ;-) -- you've done a fantastic job with our beloved ME squad.. I can't wait to test these out.
Cheers,

@Getorex: I've been window-shopping these mods for months now -- you have done some awesome work here, sir. Beautiful. I've been holding off from doing DLC mods, but now that WV has really streamlined the hash/chksum bypass for DLC -- well, I just finished building my DLC-inclusive me3tree :-) There's so many cool mods and variations now - not sure where to start! ;-) I think I want to get the Liara helmet/face across all DLCs, etc.. so going with N7_Clear_Helmet-All.zip -- I see your note regarding some versions, including Collector's, that may have issues due to inconsistent (my words) use of colors, possibly different hash #s, etc.. I got the download-only "Digital Deluxe Edition" (really wanted the goodies from that Collector's pak ;-) )... I guess I should just try it, hope it works - and look for any problems matching textures? If there are issues, I'll apply the missing textures from the provided .zip (you really have done everyone here a great service man -- several of them really ;-) ) I had run in to some bizarre errors from ME3Explorer with a couple of my own texture mods - hash keys not getting matched, but only for certain textures (the M92-Mantis was one...).. it wouldn't even work doing manual match for some reason... but I updated the ME3Explorer binary (svn) and voila, I was at least able to match them by finding 'em in the tree. It is still just... odd that the exact hash keys aren't getting matched.. but anyway - I've digressed a bit too far - my M.O. for sure... SO after Liara, I'm hoping to get Edi's makeover completed, and then of course Tali - have to install that one. I was wondering - I didn't see mention of it - is Edi's hair replaced with the mod? ( like the picture on the original post?)... it looks awesome.. hoping I can get that to work too.
Anyway - wanted to thank you (I know I'll get these working, so thanking you first is perfectly appropriate ;-) -- you've done a fantastic job with our beloved ME squad.. I can't wait to test these out.

From what I understand, the helmet itself imports fine for the various flavors but the texture may not apply to the DLC because it is "different" for different versions of the game. So for that you should only need to replace the 3 textures for the DLC (diff, norm, spec). THe only helmet textures I have are the blue-white - I don't know the other possible color variations used.
The EDI mod replaces the works, old head, old uniform, and replaces it with the new uniform and hair (the hair is Ashley's given a haircut).

I'm in WA (state) - (not sure if that makes a diff); bought and downloaded "N7 Digital Deluxe Edition" direct from Origin -- I will post back and let you know if things matched straight away or not. I don't think (iirc) there were different colors from the blue-white (I was just going from your notes). Either way - looks good to me. All of 'em do really. Edi, Tali - and your recent Ash looks killer. Her hair, in different trim, looks pretty good on Edi - well done.

Thank you...I'd half considered giving Ashley the cut version and finding something else for EDI but...I like ponytails on women

I had hoped to keep everything fairly interchangeable, but I guess I need to make things a bit more specialized instead.

DLC mod applying ME1 face and Skyrim ponytail to DLC_HEN_PR: http://www.mediafire...-DLC_HEN_PR.zip
Mh...was met with an infinite load-screen when selecting that suit pre-mission/loading an auto-save in which Williams wears it.
I went and manually replaced the two .pcc of her outfit with the ones found in Texplorercache via DLC Editor, and while the load-screen's fixed I am back at the known LoD-issue.
Re-applying that and manually updating the .sfar's TOC.bin wouldn't do much, would it.

THis happens with DLC mods fairly often (I find). Usually fixed by going to "Developer Tools -> TOC -> DLC TOCbin Updater -> Check and Rebuild SFAR. Select the Default.sfar from DLC_HEN_PR and it should all be good when it finishes.

Went and did that, worked.
However...you packaged survivor's armor-mesh in there, correct? The mesh works fine, but either the textures are missing for that or something went wrong somewhere, because I see the standard suit's textures applied to it. Somewhat messy.
On the bright side, the LoD-issue's a goner.

Oops. Yeah, I have that armor mod applied. I forgot about that. Gonna have to pull it.

Oh you, now I went and screwed up my .pccs.
What I can make out of that mesh looks promising. Do ask survivor whether he'd be fine with you fully repackaging that for From Ashes.
