@Getorex

Trying to warp the hazard model so that it matches your modified blue-hardsuit dimensions. Am right now using the edit mesh - scale (soft-selection).

I have to ask: is there any way I could just tell 3ds to copy over the dimesnsions / shape of a particular zone?

EDIT: Looks like ME3 meshes have separated their 'areas' into elements. So too do ME1 meshes. The difference is that ME3 versions are separated into more elements (ie: The Front is separated into upper and lower body), whilst ME1 jas fewer elements.

- Amy idea on how to separate an existing element into two elements (ie: Separate the chest from the stomach)?

Hey, sorry just got back in. I'll try the maleshep real fast for you no problem. :) After that I'll try the one you linked there. :)

Survivor...There are tools you can TRY but I've never had luck with them. Shrinkwrap is one tool you could try. Maybe in small segments it will work better than for whole faces (I tried using it when I was doing EDI's head mod but it was disastrous so I did the editing by hand).

I appreciate that you are working to match/unify your mods with my own.

Separating elements or sections should be doable (and easy) simply by inserting a seam where you want to split the segment for UV mapping (in the unwrapUVW modifier) OR by separating/spliting vertices along the lines you want to separate. Select the vertices across the lower chest through solar plexus and then split the vertices (I haven't done it for a LONG time in 3ds so I cannot recall the exact command...I'm doing it a lot right now in Blender).  Keep saving often though so if it goes bad you aren't totally screwed or having to start way back at step 1.

On another note, I am actually texturing/fixing Adam Jensen's mesh and UV maps. I've got the entire set of textures needed to render Adam in his body armor or in his long coat. I can try several funky mods with him. Replace James with Adam is one try. Replace Shepard's body with Adams, replace the body AND head with Adam's so that you play as Adam Shepard-Jensen. Why? Why the hell not?  He's been boned up with Shepard's skeleton and is weighted for animation as it is. Makes me think I'll try to get the Crysis nano suit/armor into ME3 too if I can find the model somewhere. Adam is HARD - he has like 12 different materials and UV maps that I need to combine into 3 or so compatible with ME3.  All the UV maps got dicked up badly when I imported his mesh as an obj file, converted into a blend or psk or fbx.

Yep, the maleshep is already scanning the DLC's, so it appears to be working as intended. :D Last check it had already scanned near 3000 files. So good news there for you at least Ashley...barring any unforeseen issues.
Edit here to let you know this is on  the svn updated when I got in from work, um I forget the number but I wanna say 0611?Update...Well, something caused my comp to BSOD...as i was out of the room at the time, I didn't catch what it was. Will try this male scan over again.

I've always admired, and even envied mesh and texture modders for all of that challenging work they're able to overcome. Looks like you're well on your way to your goal there Getorex! :D (Sorry if that doesn't make sense...afternoon meds just kicked in and yeah I am feeling it. :P)

I didn't know how to do any of this stuff until I did from bumbling along.  Started early last year in earnest. Never did any of this at all prior.

Yeah, I did some stuff for Skyrim, even did armor conversions by hand for different body types for my personal collection...but you all make it look so easy! And Ottemis, Ashley, Smartak etc on the textures...I think meshes are much easier to grasp than textures. :P

Btw the newest SVN version has some changes I made to the Cloning Process. I will post a guide later on how to add your own now that it is much easier.

I saw you listed and wondered about that. :D Just got through running the male scan fully, no errors. Gonna try that femshep file you linked now. :)
Zoinks I am tired...hit the enter button faster than I wanted. >< I'd love to add a whole mess of femshep armors, so being able to clone our own will be a godsend! That MOAM mod is nice and all, but it includes quite a bit more stuff than I want in the armor dept.
Okay, update on that other female file...it's gotten to the DLC scans, so it looks like that one is a go as well.:wizard:

If you aren't afraid of hex editing, I posted a guide on how to add your own. It is long... and tedious, but with the new clone tool it takes me about 10 minutes to add a new armor/clothing. I most likely will not be releasing the clothing packs as I would like to just add the tools to me3explorer for others to do it themselves.

That actually makes sense, and it'll make the scanning process alot more foolproof as well. :) I've not done any hex editing personally, but I'll most likely give it a shot. Had a look at the instructions, and they look very well laid out and easy to follow. Seems much easier to have it listed as "do this, then this then this", as you did there. LOL, I have seen some instructions that had me going, umm, whaa?? But those look pretty straightforward.
Actually, this femshep armor scan seems to be working, it's pretty close to done. As I can't really think of a bunch of different casuals I'd add (maybe something like the different colored hoodies as different options, or the t shirt and tank as seperate options...which is probably what I'll start playing around with the cloning to do! :D) my stuff is probably gonna be limited to the different armors. SOOOO glad you did that Tela Vasir armor for ME3, that's one I am actually using in my ME2 playthrough right now. In fact, I saw a version of EDI's default armor alliance colored that'd be sleek on her as well.

@Getorex

May I recommend splitting your Jensen mod into two parts?

1. Face: Use the Jensesn face mesh to replace the default Sheploo face. This may entail a bit of a search however

2. Body: Use the Jensen body to replace one of the rarely used, pre-built armour suits.

I must admit am kinda looking forward to starting my new ME1 journey with Jensen's face.

Not sure if you're still editing meshes, but is it possible to get a mod to make changes in femshep's spirit armor? (Just like Liara's?)

I am able to do edits and fixes now and again but am not doing it practically full-time as before.  It may actually be as simple as using the Liara armor in place of Femshep's.  I'd have to check to make sure their skeletons are the same - most female skeletons in the game are the same, just with different meshes on top of them and different names.  Ashley is a definite exception because she has a lot of extra bones specific to her hair.

Not as easy if the bones are not the same for Femshep v Liara is just reskinning Femshep with the Liara armor mesh (involves redoing the skin weights too which is the most time-consuming part).

I'll see.

After a long hiatus into RL I recently tried playing the series again using all my mods and found a number of glitches here and there that I never saw when I was actively modding heavily.  I never had a chance to actually PLAY the game with the mods, just fire up the game with the new mod in it, make sure it didn't crash or have obvious issues, and assume all was well.  Not quite true.

I'm working on Miranda to fix some bad vertices in her new uniform's neck, taking a look at EDI - I saw some crazy vertices when she did the decoy here and there, and her alternate appearance armor just crashes my game, fixing some issues I found with Ashley (open body mesh seams, hair issues in the hospital scene, and I THINK I can finally fix her shoulderboards in the alliance uniform so they look less form-fitting over her shoulders, ie, they look stiffer as they should).

Here's also a Aller's mod I've decided to continue with that I quit working on before: giving Allers the head/hair of Keitner from Deus Ex Human Revolution. I think she's done on the mesh side. Now I just need to change Keitner's skin tones to match the tones of Allers' body:

d1fovesyyd3ddv14g.jpg

If that one doesn't fly I've also edited default Allers more: tweaking her body a bit, changing some of her facial features like straightening and narrowing her nose, narrowing her face so it isn't so cherubic and round, altering her eye shape a little, lowering her eyebrows so she doesn't always look surprised.

I've been reworking my mods using the latest ME3explorer.  I'm just about finished with revamps to Ashley, EDI, Miranda, and Tali.

great to see you're still working on these! i did wanna mention that changing leg positions too much might effect animations. i used your Tali and Ashley mods from Nexus and when there were cutscenes that showed the whole body and they were walking, there would be weirdness happening with their walking animations.

i used the scenes where Tali is 1st introduced and u can see her legs twitch as she walked. i played it a few times, then reverted to my backup of the whole game that i'd made juts before installing that mod the walking had no jerkiness then.

same thing with the Ashley mod

I've sometimes seen some weirdness like that myself but it hasn't been constant.  I just recently completed a play-through after a long hiatus and didn't see any big issues at all with my characters (perhaps I fixed it along the way somewhere?).  In any case, I've started moving my mods over to DLC instead of *.mod files and have released the first test DLC at Nexus - DLC_Ashley_Mod includes all my Ashley mods in one DLC.  I'm still waiting to hear from users if there are problems with the DLC.

Sadly, ME3Explorer devs are focused primarily on texture mods and modding, have abandoned mesh modding entirely.  After I manage to update all my mods into packages of pcc bundles I'll be signing out and shutting down, here and at Nexus.  No point in doing any of this stuff when it has been made nearly impossible to distribute it for wide use.

I hope you are able to help me before you go.

I downloaded  and installed your new DLC mod and went to check out Ash on the Normandy.

All is well except there's some kind of grey shadow on her face.  It looks like a stick of acme  dynamite went off on her face.  Did I install it wrong somehow?

Iakus, if you downloaded the DLC version then it was a test mod and it failed.  Apparently others see her in all pitch black.  It has to do with some really annoying minutae required to make DLC content work that contains unique textures.  I believe that effect comes about due to a conflict between textures for the same character.  I have since deleted the DLC mod version and simply uploaded a zip with pcc files.  HOWEVER...you do not need to delete your DLC and download the other zip because the DLC contains everything you need to make the mod work still.  What you do is copy the pcc files in the DLC folder into your main game CookedPCConsole folder or into the other DLC CookedPCConsole folders - you replace your original pcc with the same name with the pcc in the Ashley DLC folder.  After you move all the pcc files out to their correct locations, delete the DLC folder with all the remaining files in it.

I can't name, offhand, which pcc goes where - you just need to check for a pcc of the same name in either the main game or DLC folders (there's only two DLC folders to look in: Citadel (DLC_EXP_Pack003_Base) or the one called DLC_HEN_PR.  After you do that you need to start up ME3Explorer (I'm using rev717 because it is the most stable of the most recent builds but for this almost any version will work).  From ME3Explorer you go Tools -> TOC Tools -> TOCbinUpdater and update the pcconsoletoc.bin file in your BIOGame folder and then in each DLC (For the DLC you may be better off using the Auto TOC app).  After that, fire up your game and it should work.

The pccs all come directly from my own game where they are working perfectly.  There MAY be glitches due to errors in file transfer or on zipping up the file (I found a CRC error in one pcc for the Full Face Helmet mod and am fixing it right now for upload) but if there's no glitches they should work as well as on my system.

I'm working over EDI and hope to have her mod updated and working to my satisfaction by the end of the weekend.

Update: with a couple days of running EDI around in various uniforms/armors in the game it appears she is once again ready for prime time.  I'll package up the pcc files today and tomorrow and then post them at nexus.  Discovered an oddity working with her "hair" while doing all this.  Usually a mesh is invisible from the back side in the game, that is, there is a face you are supposed to see and that gets textured in the game (it's normals point outward from one side only).  With EDI's hair this isn't always the case.  SOMETIMES the backside of hair mesh strands isn't invisible from the wrong side/back side, instead it glows white.  This makes it pretty annoying and difficult to get her hair edited so that you don't see a bright white glow (or SUPER reflective surface) when you look at her and happen to catch a little of the backside of a hair strand.  I've edited it and re-edited it to the point that the glow is minimal and so she can re-debut.

I am about ready to transfer EDI into a DLC mod where there should no longer be any issues with textures not behaving. If you can wait it would be best to hold of until then.

Tali full face DLC mod is being updated as I write this.  Nexus version will be 4.  Corrects a crash caused by one of the Rannoch mission pcc files and also reduces jaw movement in Tali's alternate uniform.
