I'll write a few things about the server (Isle Clostridia).

Right, but none of that covers mechanical changes or rules about multiclassing or anything.  Or the general power level of items.  Basic documenation : /

Someone I used to play another server with and myself are having a lot of fun in there, and I recently ran into a player I remember from World of Greyhawk. Trust me, it's a place worth trying.

The DM Raine World of Greyhawk?  Good times there - raised 3 characters to 40 and some others halfway or so.

Oh, and how RP heavy is Amia?  Glanced at it and it claimed to be an RP realm.

MM - as a mostly action player, I had tried out Amia a few months back and played quite happily for 3-4 weeks until RL took over.  There are a lot of players who are there primarily for in-character RP (doesn't mean not adventuring though), but there are also plenty of people who go out "hunting" (adventuring) and since there generally seem to be ~30 or so people on between the 2 servers, a good mix was usually there.  I generally never had a problem finding someone in party range, whether it was level 3 or 23 and there's a "looking for party" tool that helps out.

I never felt pressured to RP at all, although you do need to stay in character in regular talk chat, and I had a few fun encounters with some drow PCs in underground areas.

I sent the administrator an email about working on the forum for Isle Clostridia, and I guess he's a busy person because there's not many posts on the forum and most of them are older. He hasn't gotten back to me yet. Amia is heavy RP but you can play for action and no one will give you any grief, as long as you stay in character most of the time. That place is really good.

Not sure if this thread is still going but Argentum Regio is probably the most player friendly server i have ever been to. Its also an English server despite the Latin name.

It's sort of still going. I tried Amia but grew unhappy due to a lot of issues with the core way the world is set up and the apathy of some of the admins. Meaning I'm still curious what else is out there.

I had tried Argentum Regio briefly a few months ago. Was given a "tour" of the tutorial area and then wandered around for like 30 minutes on my own. Basically couldn't find anything to do during those 30 minutes besides a quest that didn't seem to work properly so I simply gave up. Maybe the server drastically improves but it didn't seem worth continuing to search for a quest or even something to kill.

Based on the info in your original post, doesn't look like you've tried Kharlindale yet. I'd recommend that since you've either tried all the ones Ive played on and like (SCA, Awakening, Amia) or are hunting through the documentation (Aventia3), you give that one a try. The Player Handbook forum on their forum site lists the relevant changes and while getting higher end gear is important, the build and player skill are also important. I'd check it out (one word of warning, there are very limited scrolls, so UMD skill is of greatly reduced importance compared to standard PWs where a few levels of rogue gives you a full scroll/spellbook). The only really negative I had on it was there was no buff stone available...but I haven't been there in awhile so maybe that's changed though.

I'll take a look at it.

I'm actually not really interested in Aventia3 -- the concept of unlimited leveling with significant power gains is basically anathema to what I'm looking for.  Just trying to help Lazarus attract players who do enjoy that sort of thing.

I'd consider that a good thing, frankly.  If you've played Siege you might have even noticed that there were zero scrolls.  If I made a PW based on traditional NWN rules likely the only scrolls available would be Raise Dead and Lesser Spell Breach.

Magical Master, are you looking to build a server? I can use the toolset and have a book called the Worldbuilder book that teaches how to use the toolset and script a little and I've been wanting to make a HCR or HCR light server like Forgotten Realms Cormyr but set in the Moonsea region and Phlan. If you're interested reply here or send me a PM.

I am eventually, but need to finish playing through a module first, need to finish building Siege, and also have RL obligations and obligations in other games.

That said, the world I'm planning is custom and will completely change the mechanics of the game, adding new abilities to classes and trying to make more compelling/tactical gameplay.

Magical Master: Here are two good servers I'll suggest to you, one being Forgotten Realms Cormyr and the other called Markshire. Forgotten Realms Cormyr's IP address is 173.61.128.239:5121 and it's Web address is http://frc.proboards.com/index.cgi . I think that is the IP address, if not, go to the website and see. The other is Markshire: Foothold: IP address 24.213.145.112:5121 Website: http://www.markshire.com. Markshire has a small player base, but the server is good. If you need someone to show you around, reply to this post and we can arrange to meet and group, which is almost essential at low levels.

No.

"There was a question about certain dungeons with traps that port you out of a dungeon or TPK the party.... it doesn't matter what dungeon it is.  If you leave the dungeon for whatever reason, the 7-day rule applies. No exceptions."

Hell no.

Am I missing something here?  All I see on that page are a youtube video and a screenshot gallery.  No forums or information or anything.

OMG. I looked at the you tube video. There used to be a forum. The admin must've taken it down but the server is still up. It's good but I don't think you'll want to since the forum is down/gone. Trust me it's good but it's a custom world so you'd want to look at the forum first. Sorry Magical Master, I thought the forum was still up....

Yeah, World of Greyhawk was fun -- it just ended at max level when I was playing there. Make a new character, start leveling again. Was hoping for something with more focus on max level groups.

Treegum doesn't really have any players anymore...but if you get a few people I'll start a new character and group with you. That was a fun one. The website is http://www.bruehawk....h.net/index.php .

My friend and I are trying Kharindale at the moment (though we have concerns) and we'll probably try Three Towns a bit more. Not terribly interested in Bruehawk from the looks of it. Think that covers everything (though I might have overlooked a server or two in all the suggestions).

Try this one: Savage frontier and surrounding lands: IP 50.4.214.182:5123. Website http://frsavagefront....com/index.cgi. It has some haks but the server is good. I have a level 1 Ranger so we can group if you try the server. Look for agro the axe in game....

I'll be launching Culling of Nightmares in a month, hopefully you guys can check it out then. It's an action module with some features based on Dark Souls. It's not really a PW in the classical sense, but it's definitely going to have a heavy emphasis on exploration and long quests.

I had some discussion with the admins on that server a bit back.  Among other things they mentioned people usually rested every 40-120 minutes which didn't really appeal to me and that you were supposed to literally walk everywhere unless fighting an enemy.  Not really interested.

Kharindale had numerous issues, especially with doing quests as a group (or rather, not being able to do quests as a group) among other things. We'll probably fiddle with Three Towns when we get the chance. I think that's everything that's been mentioned thus far.

Personally I prefer Kharlindale than Three Towns but the 2 are good and with no required downloads.

I'm fine with (even prefer) downloads. I'm not fine with needing to do every quest twice (in a group of 2) and also having to make sure the person doing the quest actually lands the last hit on the boss.  Plus some other issues.
