For my last me3 playthrough I want to do a quick "don't talk to anybody, no sidequests, lowest possible EMS" game.  Problem is I've promoted too much in multiplayer, so I think that even if I let the readiness drop down to 50% my EMS will be too high. I'm sure this has been gone over before, but all the info I find is about getting a good ending without multiplayer, and I want the opposite.  I could play entirely offline, but I think I want the extended cut to see how dire the ending slides are.  Is there an easy way to do this without, say, starting the game each time, waiting for the DLC to authorize, then going offline?

Just play in offline mode for that save. As long as you aren't online when you play a specific save, the N7 Spec Ops won't get added to that save's war assets (unless this has been changed, but it should still work).

EDIT: Just read that DLC might be a problem. You can simply force the game to disconnect by resetting your modem or router after the DLC has been authorized and then continue to play in offline mode.

Afraid I can't help you OP, I play on xbox so I don't have to wait for the DLC to authorize before using it, not sure if there's a way to get past the problem you're referring to.

I think I'll create at least a new ME2 import with as many dead crew as possible.  I did a crap ME2 playthough, but I did too good a job and killed Shep too (but unfortunately not Chakwas and crew).  Too bad it's not possible to start ME3 with just Joker.  I think if Samara is the only loyal squadmate and she's guarding the rear during the suicide mission Shep will survive.  Although I guess it should really be Morinth.

Actually I'll probably do Destroy after killing the Quarians.  Just to have a barren Rannoch.  I wonder, though, if Liara's capsule is different in Refuse if you never talk to her about it on the Normandy.

IMO, picking synthesis is worse than refuse or low ems destroy. Same with control.

Maybe so, but I don't think you get as much on-screen devastation.  I could be wrong.  I want the ME3 version of Joker standing alone with all the coffins on the Normandy.  Another recent thread mentioned Cerberus-Legion, and I realized I had no idea what Cerberus did with him if you sold him instead of turning him on.  So I want to see all those horrible things.  Shep having nobody for the London communications guy to call, etc..

Disconnect from the internet. Start your game from the beginning with no import and no DLC.

Damn! It's kind of a toss up between low EMS Control -- which is a total fail because no one gets out of the Normandy (the harvest continues). (You get this if you gave the CB to TIM)   and Low EMS Destroy.  But you've got to use the Original Endings.

 Since this thread clearly hasn't had enough "My least favorite ending is the worst"-posts yet, let me submit my entry...

Refuse and Destroy are the worst endings.

If you gave the collector base to TIM and go Low EMS you do not get the option of destroy. You only get Control. Remember do not have the extended cut loaded if you want the worst endings.

you have to actually work for the 1700 EMS and lower. I don't know maybe try a new import, play zero MP, do zero N7 missions, screw over krogan, screw over quarian, but even then I think you could still manage 2000 EMS and therefore it invalidates the 'worst' ending. Good luck.
