Thank you.

I do find the lancer lackluster and incredibly overrated.

Infinite ammo? Yeah, there are ammo boxes everywhere...

Plus, CSMG > Lancer... infiite ammo, better armour DPS, much more accurate...

If the harrier didn't exist, then the lancer would be a much better option, but currently there's scant little point in taking the lancer over the CSMG on casters.

And on weapons classes? No point at all in taking lancer over the other options.

Pretty much this. No reason to use the Lancer over anything else.

Indeed. It has no place among automatic weapons.

Weapons classes (Destroyer, Geth Trooper, Human Soldier, Turian Soldier) should take Typhoon/PPR/Saber.

One cooldown casters (QME, Krogan Soldier, Batarians, Turian Sentinel, AJA, QMI, HI, TGI, GE, QFE, Huntress) should take PPR/Saber/Harrier/Valkyrie.

Two cooldown explosion casters (Paladin, HE, SE, HA, AA, Valkyrie, Collector Adept) should take Hurricane/CSMG and/or a Heavy Pistol instead.

The Indra belongs in the last class, as a weapon for two cooldown explosion casters.

Lancer has infinite ammo as-well. And it's accuracy is pretty good too. Armor DPS? Not really by much. And Lancer has more ammo.

Plus it sounds badass. That alone makes it good. :P

On Platinum infinite ammo is better than the Carreir that runs dry every 3 seconds.

How are you going to tell people what weapon should be used on what class?
Also your games sound very boring, you should branch out more like a Typhoon on a volus merc.

Indra's nice, but a little weak. Especially good on the Turian Sol. The Scope isn't too bad, as it doesn't have the same lvl of zoom as other SRs, but the 50% hipfire penalty really hurts it, you have to stay scoped in for a longer period of time to do damage and it kills your situational awareness, speed and agility. If you don't you're walking about with a -50% damage.

hipfire penalties were a terrible idea, it's not as if SRs are used to no scope regularly.

I love using the Indra. It's one of the few sniper rifles I'll actually use on the Huntress.

^ The only reason I'm not using it on her anymore is because of the power damage mod I can put on a hurricane or CSMG but I miss the accuracy.

I typically use the Hurricane and Disciple on the Huntress if I'm playing U/U/G, but if I know going in that the map is something like Hydra, big and open, I'll throw the Indra on.

Novel idea here: Maybe he/she finds it fun to use those weapons on those classes? Maybe some people don't need to use unorthodox set-ups to have fun? Stop trying to apply your opinion to everyone.

it's an assault rifle? o_O
that explains why all my sniper rifle mods haven't made me any better with it.

I love the Indra, it's perhap for those that want to fight at distance that may not be good one shot snipers. I use it on both salarians and at times on my fqe.

One big bonus is that it allows you to use operative gear and get the 12% for both tech and sniper.

The scope and hipfire penalty are big strikes against it. Also, the 25 shot magazine is a limitation.

Low Recoil.
Automatic.
High ROF.
Quick reload.
Lot of ammo.
Higher damage than most ARs.
Built in scope.
Lightweight.

The Collector SR is better than the Indra in almost all of those categories. Yes, it weighs a bit more, but levels for it are also easier to come by to make it weigh less. It has NO recoil, it's automatic, higher rate of fire, infinite ammo, higher damage than most ARs EVEN with it's hipfire penalty, built in scope, and it's hipfire penalty only loses 25% of it's damage instead of half.

Lighter weight and a faster reload, should you empty it's clip, are the only things the Indra really has over the Collector SR. In closing, the CSR is the best AR [besides the Harrier... Dunno why the OP would put any sniper in the same category as the Harrier..]

For caster classes: Lancer > Indra

If the Indra had no hipfire penalty, we'd see quite less Harriers around.

I'm gonna give the CSR another chance. But managing the heating mechanic can be tricky in tight situations.
