i like the first one though.

however, i swapped the PPR to lancer on destroyer, with a weapon accuracy/mag size/damage build, and hydra missiles. the lancer benefits a lot from devastator mode, and it's a much more agile close combat build (no need to wait for the "warm up" of typhoon and PPR).

PPR all day everyday... But I like both guns quite a bit.

With either AP/Drill ammo or HVB you can. Taking neither gimps your DPS versus boss units anyway.

Really? I seem to recall a thread in which it was specifically said that because PPR is a beam weapon, it will never pierce a 1 m wall. So I figured that you can't. Must research in game more.

P.S: besides, those who say that the PPR is better on paper should... Learn to understand what's important in this game, really. Or should learn to read numbers, I don't know.

IMO - Typhoon is made for him. They suit each other, and you can bet your ass that's what Biower was going for.

He was asking for weapons to use on the Destroyer. I'm asking you to directly compare these two.

Well I think the Typhoon. Less downtime while cooling down, less wait for ramp up. 

Whilst true it can be shortened by turning devestator mode off and then on when ammo runs out.

PPR as a weapon is always better, but here I prefer the Typhoon. It's just made for the Destroyer. I also think that the multi-frag grenades are too good to pass up, and speccing for those while using PPR is pointless. Also, there are other characters that just simply kill enemies a lot faster with the PPR.

First of all the PPR can pierce cover and can make use of the canopy glitch. Secondly, when the PPR ramps up the damage gets quadrupled but the armor penalty from armored enemies applies 4x as well. Take a PPR without any armor piercing into a match with many armored enemies and your DPS will be very underwhelming. So it's either HVB + Incendiary or EB + AP.

typhoon for me. i just resetted it for PPR+hawklauncher but frags are more powerful and synergize well with typhoon as i need to get ammo and grenades.

PPR wins... if the Typhoon had a 1.75 modifier up, then it would be a bit of a different story I think.
Even if it were, then I would be hesitant to say that the Typhoon would be much better, it would definietly be more niched against defenses, whereas the PPR may win against crowds.

PPR X + Warp IV + HVB on a destroyer can kill a platinum banshee before running out of ammo.

When equiping drill rounds on the PPR it can wall hack just like anyother gun. Try it out on the GI, or equip the geth scanner on the Destroyer. Personally I like the PPR, nothing like melting mooks and smoking remains of banshees to make one's day.

Food for thought, if one or more of your teammates are running Harriers, then you are going to have a tough time finding ammo. Especially on Plat games, where the stupid crates barely give out ammo and if you're on Condor, the PPR clearly wins because of the glitched ammo boxes that only refill at the end of the round. :happy:

Those who say PPR does more sustained damage than typhoon, you guys can continue to believe whatever you want. I have no interest in convincing anyone about anything.

I will say though that this is typical bsn psychology at work. Just because the typhoon got the disgrace of the "nerf medal", it instantly became the most hated weapon whilst in hindsight it is the most powerful assault rifle in the game. The nerf meant that people started saying that even the revenant is better than typhoon (wtf? O.o)

The PPR on the other hand recieved only a tiny, miniscule buff, simply to get people to use it more because it wasnt popular at all in its early days. Just because it got a pitiful buff the bsn hailed it as the "best gun ever" and "better than typhoon".

The PPR is certainly overall a better gun as it can be put on casters but all weapons classes (destroyer included) make the typhoon work significantly better than PPR.
