I still want to romance Varric in DA3. I don't see why, after Cassandra interrogates him, he can't make his way to Orlais to get in on the action.

That's one of my favourite things about him, honestly. It further underlines his loyalty, and speaks of a quiet vulnerability.  I'd love to learn more about HIM, because most of the interaction we got with Varric revolved around us or our companions. 

I hope in DA3 they go more deeper into Varric's past so we know what happened to him and Bianca before he obtained the crossbow Bianca.

We already learned in Legacy how he obtained his crossbow and the Comic Until We Sleep revealed how the crossbow obtained her name Bianca but the question remains "what happened to Varric before he obtained his crossbow?"

Actually - yes. If they do decide to feature Hawke in a cameo, and if Varric is in the game...
A ball.
Say if you import a save where Hawke only flirted with Varric and didn't wind up with anyone else, they could meet again at a ball. Hawke would wear a mask, so they wouldn't need to worry about funky face issues 
They could have their moment on the dance floor, perhaps. He could kiss her hand and wink, and then she could whirl away into the crowd...:wub:

Varric was over-hyped pre-DA2 and still surpassed our expectations.

I'd laugh if we saw him following Cassandra around, not giving her a moment's rest.

 He really has to be back, such a fantastic creation. Definitely has more room for character development beyond what we saw in DA2 as well. Also it's noteworthy that he couldn't die in DA2, which means that if they are planning to use import data they don't have to worry about that as a factor.
Bring back the chest hair!

Cassandra and Protagonist need to talk in private, they've got important issues to deal with and have to resolve immediately without hassle. Cassandra invites the Protagonist to her tent where they'll discuss things privately. As she leads you into her tent, she sighs as she realizes her tent has no walls and is a big empty black void.

The protagonist starts screaming, yelling that it's blood magic and unsheaths their weapon but Cassandra tells them to calm down, it's just a dwarf.

Sitting in the middle of the black empty void is a short, stocky man surrounded by wenches.

I wonder, if David Gaider said that after the fan reaction to Varric in DA2 he wished that Varric had been an LI (I'm metaphrasing as I can't find that exact quote), do you think he'll have him be an LI in DA3, if he's in DA3 at all? Maybe Varric could be the Carth Onassi LI... You know, the whole dead wife/lover thing, but realizes that it's okay to love again...

Oh, and I personally like this one of Varric.

I am inclined to agree - he's the primary reason I replay DA2, and from the first interaction I'm doomed to sarcastic!Hawke simply because their interactions are the greatest thing since Qunari cookies.
