While I'm sure they'll have different personalities, I think they can agree on the fact that humans truly are nuts.  I find that to be very true, in or out of Thedas.

Romance with Varric ends with him choosing Bianca over the Inquisitor.

Some of what we would traditionally call romance options in Dragon Age: Inquisition are falling more into that friendship area.

I'm not sure what he's saying here, but he literally said Varric isn't a romance, so.

Maybe he hooks back up with Bianca the dwarf, who might still be alive.

So I was reading the latest issue of PC Gamer (US), and Mark Darrah spoke a little bit about Varric and a potential bromance with our favorite dwarf:

 

 

I'm not exactly 100% clear on what he is saying, but it seems like he is confirming that Varric is not a romance option in Inquisition. Honestly, I would be more interested in a "bromance," since I plan on playing a male Inquisitor anyways. It would be fun to hang out with Varric at a Tavern, shoot the sh*t and reminisce about old times.

I read that as well, but I'm still not convinced.  If anything, between Mark and Cameron it almost seems like they are trying way too hard to convince the fans that Varric won't be available as a LI, as a red herring.  My hopes aren't very high, but I still won't dismiss the idea of a Varric romance until the devs say as such with no room for doubt.

 

In short, it'll take the devs/writers going, "No, Varric isn't a romance," to convince me, or the game itself will let me know.

See, I'm reading that as referring back to DA2, what with the talk of a lack of "bromance" option with him, but I don't have the article in front of me. That said, there is this slightly older article, which has this bit:

I'd better not answer that because if I do, David Gaider, the lead writer, will punch me in the face. So I can't answer that.

 

I know the answer, but I'm sorry guys. Let's put it this way: Varric loves his crossbow so much... So I don't know whether Varric would be able to let go of his love of Bianca.

 

Still not a confirmation either way, but. [SPREADS HANDS] However, with the race-gating all but confirmed, I'm far more hopeful for a Varric romance. My fingers are definitely crossed!

I've always known the possibility of Varric being an LI was low. I don't think he is one, I hope he is one... And also, I hope in the future at the very least as someone who loves the dwarf origins and the race, they finally have a dwarf romance option. I think it's different than having the dwarf PC in a romance

Like I've been stating, I haven't expected it so I will be fine with it.

Me personally, I'll still be running my dwarf playthrough, still keeping my deluxe addition preorder, still anticipating this game like crazy, and Still looking forward to the Sera romance! Though curious to see what other LI option a female has.
