Sort of conflicted here because I am so happy to see Varric so distressed, not because he is in pain (my poor baby) but because of the visual effects. This game is going to tear our hearts out, I can't bloody wait. Of course he still looks gorgeous, he is the best looking dwarf in all of Thedas after all, even when he's sad.

I hope he's a companion. The banter would be awesome (especially if there are a couple that reference Hawke and co). His new scarf is cool, but...it covers the chest hair.

I though everyone's hair looked kinda weird in DA2, including Varric. It's nice to see that, at least in the trailer, the hair is much improved.

Gotta protect dat chest hair, if it gets damaged in battle Varric will lose his godhood and become but a mere mortal. with normal chest hair. no one wants that

We will probably see Varric the first 10 minutes of the game then move on after that so i don’t think he will be a companion or have much interaction with him.

You're right, it could be an evil little tease~ but if he is a companion, or plays a significant role (not just a one-off cameo or something) I will straight-up die of happiness.
I do think he'll have a presence, though. People are 90% sure Cassandra will be a companion, and they both feature in the trailer while Morrigan is busy narrarating... I think our chances for dwarf lovin' are not minuscule.
