Because it's Mass Effect.
Also, it's fun and addicting. Most other MP games are generic and are twitchy point-and-shoot borefests.

i like the experience of pugging because of the inconsistency. I like surprises in games.

Because it is a good game. The only other game that has come along since ME3 was released, that has sucked up any significant amount of my time is Borderlands 2.
There are 60+ kits, each with 3-5 different ways to build/play/equip them... that's A LOT of variety. When I was all about min/max builds and finding the best/strongest build... that's when the game got boring for me. Now I try off the wall different builds, and I have much more fun... but I always remember what min/max features cannot be skipped.

Time spent with my friends....... I've made a lot of friends because of this game and I enjoy spending time with them. Also, the game is still interesting for me, I set new challenges for myself and then try to beat them. I'm also in an amazing group which keeps me in contact with the friends I've made!!!!

Mass Effect itself, dynamic teamplay to certain extent, and super fun private lobbies.

I still play because I did not in past. I played month or so after release .. and now I came back because of SP DLCs. And look, it's all different and better.
Anyway I still get that annoying 1 seconds freeze every 3 minutes (PC) .. problem since day 1, not
solved .. this is going to be the reason to stop playing again.
I'd like to get all weapons and classes, I mean at least on level 1 .. but it goes sooooo slow.

Haven't found a suitable replacement in any other game.

Because.... fun!
ME3 is my first online mulitplayer experience, and I've been completely surprised and utterly pleased at just how much I enjoy playing with the folks I've met. I've gamed for many, many years: it has long been a relaxing outlet and a favorite downtime activity, BUT it had always been a solitary experience. Now I find myself keeping an eye out for the fun times with all the great ME3 players I've met, forsaking single player games that are growing dusty on the shelf for rollicking adventures across the ME3 universe.
It still thrills me!

At this point it's probably a mix between maxing my manifest and playing with awesome people from my friends list.
As long as they keep playing I will to

I try to win the Reaper-War, so i dont have to kill Shep in the Singleplayer
And my Huntress and BatSol could win this war alone without break out in a sweat.

It seems amazing to me .. I certainly did not expecte MP from ME3 .. and most certainly I did not expect GOOD MP from ME3. When I heard about it for the first time, I said like 'meh, who cares' .. and look at it .. it's one of the best games I know. All that variability .. they should split it of singleplayer completely and make stand alone MMO.

I don't
All the challenges are done. There is nothing left to do.
I haven't maxed a single UR, in fact, I didn't even unlock all of them in a year. I don't see how maxing the manifest could be a realistic goal. I'm not going to spend another year on this.

It's a rich game, and even after more waves than I want to count, I'm still learning new tactics.
Plus, I still grin each time a Krogan says, "Ha! They're dead!"
