I hope they have fun w/it, OP.

Although, it kinda depends on what's going on when we get...air dropped into the story. Will it be at war? Will there be revolt going on?

I just don't know what situation Orlais is gonna be in? So, then all the finery may look battered and worn, and almost ghoulish. Beauty marks askew. lol!

I was hoping to "tour" the place a bit before we got into it w/the dramaz. I've been wanting to see Orlais and all its audaciousness since DAO.

If the story permits, tho, I would luv to see sum OTT fashions. And color. And song.

Only the aristocracy would wear such thing. You know .. People with 10 servant per each 1 inch square of their avatar ? Common people would not dress like this. Which was the majority of people living in France.

Excentric stuff here ... Good for Opera and Carnival and maybe those people doing nothing outside of taking care of their appearance.

THose people were also highly narcissistic.

I agree, the lower classes won't be so fashion forward. I do think they would TRY to be, and that in Orlais clothing would be as much a key to higher status as money. That's just my theory though ;)

I'm going to go with victorian era europe, maily france where they would and probably did put live birds in their hair. Corsettes that bend ribs and hoolahoop skirts that get people trapped in doorways. Lead paint on faces to make them white, high soles on upper-class shoes to keep the rich people's feet out of the mud. Lace and frills, lace and frills everywhere.

It will be fabulous.

Regardless, I am sure that the men of Orlais were high heels. Nothing wrong with that, just saying.

I seem to remember there was a meme done showing a male Hawke wearing a ridiculously horrendous hat. If I'm not mistaken I tthink it has a swan on it with either fountains or crystal beading. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Anyone have it that can post it here?

I adore that cover, and Mr. Blue man above. Beautiful. The men should be just as over the top as the women. The heel was invented in France - for men, in the 18th century.

If thats the case in DA3, then all 100% of the male players will play a female character.
I highly doupt any heterosexual male will want to play girly weak and fashionable male character in DA3.

Wow so many generilizations and implications in just one sentence. I salute your ability to assimilate asinine stereotypes sir.

Anyway I like the colorful direction the Orlesians are going in, it fits them. Though some of these really are painfully over the top and I wouldn't wanna see them unless the character who was wearing them was equally over the top. Which I ain't opposed to. I want more weird characters. Like Rosalind in Bioshock.

Well, they didn't seem to have any problem playing Raiden in that new Metal Gear Rising or whatever game. He had heels.

This is beyond absurd.

No one who did anything but sit in one place every wore anything like this.

I'm thinking a lot of people are going to be disappointed.

I find it amusing that people are saying these outfits are too over-the-top. Leliana said that one of the Orlesian noblewomen had live birds in her hair. I think that's instantly more over-the-top than anything posted here.

I like a lot of the attire in The Hunger Games. The people in the capital dress way over the top like this:

And I'd want a dress like this for a female Inquisitor on the right occassion:

Rich Nobles that throw parties like this are a must for this to come together:

LOL! I actually pray that pic had some photoshopping done but it's still a crazy outfit.

@Youth4Ever, yes! We have to have a ball to attend with a chance to pick something awesome to wear!

Well this one looks less gay. No Problem with homosexuality but I don't want my character to be forced crossdressing.

I'm really liking this too:

I like how Katniss' hair is braided across the front and down in the back. That's fancier than your average hairdo, but not overly so for people who don't want to go to the extreme and look like the woman standing next to her:
