If I was Shepard, the bar on the ship would have more scotch and less glowing orange-what-even-is-that drinks.

And the music selection in my cabin would have been incredibly different. With a lot more Tom Waits, Jethro Tull, and Alice In Chains, and a lot less space pop. Seriously, Shepard, why the blazes is THAT what you relax to?

Yeah what's up with Shepard not being able to drink on his own ship anymore? At least in ME2, Shep could just keep mixing and mixing until EDI told him where the restroom was.

Even if Shepard ends up incapacitated, it would have been totally worth it.

When you mix the Orange stuff with the Blue stuff, you get Purple stuff that gives of a bubbling/sizzling sound.

Do you think Shepard could stomach Ryncol? I think the only reason he passed out from it was because he was already totally snockered.

I was thinking more along the lines of Jack and Miranda simultaneouly hitting Shepard with Warp fields followed by a Slam from Miranda and then Jack's Shockwave, resulting in a biotic explosion not seen since the destruction of the Alpha Relay.  

The prize that is their reaction to such a brilliant idea is worth the heavy risk.

At least you would have killed the Catalyst.

well, firstly i would probably have unlocked EDI at the start (to get her away from TIM and being able to block Miranda from sending unsupervised reports (EDI would show them to me before sending them of - i still need TIM after all)...while also parking an explosive charge next to her core - save is save after all)

then i would have started gathering allies against the reapers already (as dangerous as the collectors were, they were peanuts compared to the reapers) by having Mordin get all the proof that is to be had to the STG, getting other SPECTRES to help out, getting the quarians to stop preaparing to fight the geth etc. (many more things to be done)

i would start my own mercenary-group (better then those out there already) and would have build some more ships (with the Normandy's upgrades - Silaris-Armor, Thannix-Canons, Cyclonic-Barriers, Stealth-System...while looking into the problem that the later system does not seem to work on reaper-forces!) with the help of the Quarians (giving them the resources to do that for me - after all i tracked down so much stuff, giving them some and having them use the rest (well not all of it, i need cash, too of course) to build me a fleet? - piece of cake)

then well, i would have still kicked the collector's asses back to kingdom come

i would have helped take out the shadow broker, but i don't think i would have given Liara the job...hm...I'd rather think of say Mordin...i mean he knows special/black-operations and intelligence work and he is more of a researcher then a fighter IMHO...also he can be quite the force on the battlefield, too)

and then i would have gone to that batarian relay (Arrival DLC) - but i would have blown it directly when the reapers entered the system, not before

and lastly:

i would not have gone into Alliance custody (stupid move IMHO - even more as the SPECTRE-Status protects me from them...hell they can toss me out of the military, sure, but they can't take the status away, at least not if the other councilars back me up (which they will, after i bombard them with evidence of the reapers existence (reaper corps, collectors being protheans, collector base (i would give that to all the major powers, not just TIM) etc.) and with their hands tied i would remain free

well, then i would initiate a project to saveguard the races of this cycle (building some more ships - big ones with stasis chambers and filling them with talented people from all races and sending them off into space (systems without relays and intelligent live or deep space))

and then i would concentrate on fully equiping my forces (with contributions from all the people i helped and the council that is now on my side)

and - important - i would research weapons and tech outside the reaper guidlines (energy-weapons for example)...or at least i would pay for people doing that (My Sheppard might be an intelligent man, but he is no scientist)

well, that's it (note: i would not build the damned crucible - if the fight turned out to be hopeless, i would gather all my forces and would retreat to some place not on records (except inside of EDI - meaning ships and people going there need her as guide) with lot's more stasis pods...waiting out the reapers and then coordinating the rebuilding and preparing!)

who knows how much radiation and bacteria that thing would get onto my ship? (also: i don't have time for a dog, so no pets...hm...i have Grund, i like him better then a dog anyway (also he needs some training in not trying to destroy my ship with his bare hands ^^))

I'd go up to the Citadel Tower during ME2 and murder the entire Citadel Council for dismissing the Reapers and tell Udina to do the right thing and help Anderson get the Alliance to prepare for war against the Reapers or die himself.

I'd also shoot Liara in the head for handing my body over to Cerberus and not telling anyone or getting help like from the rest of the team from ME1.

got another thing - concerning non reaper-like-technology:

why not take a look into the past? - we know that the US, China, Russia etc. are researching Laser-Weapons etc. at the moment and not just so they can shoot missiles down (what the GUARDIAN-SYSTEMS do in Mass Effect) so why not dig up those "old" files? (other species must have similar "old" research

If only Bioware hadn't destroyed the dialogue system in the 3rd game and left you with three or more choices for a response like in the first two games, it might have been possible to sarcastically play dumb with both the Alliance Brass and/or later with the Council. But alas, they had to destroy that special something that made you feel as if you were Shepard.

I would have given the clone the keys to the Normandy, taken one of the Shuttles and left with Liara for a planet that was off the grid to ride out the war.
