I think you all over reacting. I know some of you already know I am an ITer, but heck nobody expected this. Look you don't have to buy it, nor read it. I am not because I already know much about IT, however I don't hate the book. For christ sake you are acting like somebody punched your mothers. It's a book that explains IT, and nothing more. So either shut up and move on, or shut up and leave it at that.

It's a stupid idea, therefore, we shall mock it. Simple as that.

Also, -1000000000 for having the crappy godzilla as your banner.

Something tells me you're not a copywrite lawyer.  The fact you don't know what plagiarism is comes as a huge red flag you're making this up as you go.

Something tells me you aren't one either. Mainly that you wrote copywrite instead of copyright.

You know, right, as in something given to a person by the state which says they are allowed to do something as long as they follow the legally reasonable application of that action?

Instead of write, as in I copied what this person did with my writings.

So a film critic has to get the copyright holder's  permission to sell a review, or a collection of reviews? A biographer of a writer has to get the writer's permission to quote from the books? Nonsense.

En contraire, that's exactly how it works.

Really? So there's no fair use exemption for anything?

Fair use is a gray area at best. In truth, if your going to site anything that is directly from the work for the intention of discussion, it must be cleared with the copyright holder first before anything happens. This even applies to some non-profit cases, but usually not, which is why so many online reviews for free need not fear copyright retribution at the moment.

Educational or satire purposes are also protected, because technically their entire point in exsistence is to discuss the work in question, and so they were allowed a special permission under the law to do so.

But that's pretty much where it ends. If you try and make a profit off of someone elses works, or even elements of someone elses works, and do not cite, disclaimer, and get contractualy style permission that legally and offically recognizes you have permission to use this work, you cannot use it without legal repurcussions.

Not gonna lie, makes me a little sad people make fun of him just for writing a book about IT. For all we know, he's practicing to become an author outside of the realm of ME.

I think we've exhausted the discussion potential for this thread.

End of line.
