And a host of huge, console-selling titles and IPs coming out right along with them, for another. 

What are the odds large numbers of people are going to be paying attention to Bioware right now? And if the game is next gen only, that's not even just fighting for attention.. that's flat out fighting for money. The vast majority of consumers buy a console and one game. What's the odds that DA3 will be that one game for many gamers? And those odds become smaller when you throw in a small marketing window.

As I said, not predicting doom. But a reveal as late as E3 is throwing the dice, no doubt about it. It's not a gamble I would have taken.

Business wisdom is not something that EA has really had a grasp of when it comes to Bioware, TOR being an excellent example of this (and by that I mean the idea - getting a company that does in SP exactly those features no one in an MMO cares about to do an MMO).

If they show in-game footage and talk about a lot of details (aka the reveal), then I will be super excited! If all it has is a CGI trailer, then I will be seriously bummed.

I'll be pretty disappointed if we don't get at least a moderate sized info dump. We've been waiting long enough.

Its a risk only if the game is slated to come out this year. I am not really convinced its going to come out this year.

*Totally* agree with you from an emotional point of view.  From a pragmatic view, I just want it to be revealed at the *appropriate* time (i.e., with lots of solid development behind it).  But that's preachin' to the choir, I know...

I'm keen for more information, but on the other hand I hope this is being done because DA3 is ready to see the light of screen, rather than as an attention grab. I trust Bioware to know what they're doing though Especially the DA team - they haven't let me down yet.

About time. I figured they were holding out for E3. I'm really interested to see how the import system is going to work. I hope they talk about the game at length.

Well, she kinda already was front and center for DA. Most importantly at the start of it.

They said pre-DAO that she best represented the struggles and such of Thedas. And with all the struggling thats going on now...
