It's not so far away ,Lord Aesir .
Just one month ...
Now the game release is seven months away at best , that's a bit long.

I hope they will show some character creation , a good character creator always get me excited.
It's the kind of things that makes me want to buy games , I probably wouldn't even like...

Anyway there's lots of info to look forward , new visuals , some new dialogue system , I guess some new gameplay etc...
My guess is they won't go all awesome button on us this time .
Well I hope so , I mean that marketing was good if you wanted to sell games to a bunch of drunk apes.

More like a year sadly.
DA:I is not on the EA launch shedule for the fiscal year 2014, which ends in march 2014.

It's likely Joystiq didn't post the whole quote.
EA goes on to say that they will be showing new games from DICE, EA Sports and Bioware at E3 that are due for FY 2014.

Since DA3 is already officially going to be shown at E3, it's pretty obvious DA3 is the(or one of) game EA is talking about.

As of a few days ago, Mike Laidlaw said DA3 is still officially targeted for 2013. I have no reason to think he's lying so the best anyone can guess is DA3 is coming late 2013.

Ok after some googeling I am still unable to find any source for the underlined part, can you please provide it ?

So will we get a teaser trailer before E3 or will a teaser trailer be all we get from the E3 reveal? You gotta admit that would be pretty funny.

Am I the only one who really isn't excited about this? I thought the DA2 trailer was amazing and then the game itself came out.

In truth I find myself watching this game more out of morbid curiosity than genuine anticipation, my hopes aren't exactly high.

At the bottom of this article: http://www.ign.com/a...ost-ea-earnings

"However, we’re planning a full reveal at E3 including more next-generation titles in development for fiscal year 2014....We plan to unveil new titles from EA Sports, BioWare, and DICE and a first look at some brand new games."

Seems pretty clear to me, but I could be wrong.

I read that as "we're going to show the titles we'll be working on during fiscal year 2014" not as them showing games that will be released during fiscal year 2014.

*sigh* They'll probably release DAIII this year... Oh well, I don't really care if it fails anyway.

If it comes out this year, it will probably not be out until Dec. Especially if they announce that it will be on next gen consoles. So if you look at it, that is still 6 months from whatever they show at E3. Also, it depends on how far along they are in the process already. They could be farther along then we think, but just have not said anything to us because they were waiting for E3.

I'm going to express concern unless they reveal a 2014 Release Date at E3.

But that's just the habit I have of leaning towards soul-crushing realism.

Also known as "pessimism", or in extreme cases, paranoia. A little bit of optimism doesn't hurt anyone.

I'd disagree. People who drove off cliffs in failed flying machines before the Wright Brothers had very dangerous cases of optimism.

If you read the whole paragraph it seems like it is about games up for a fiscal year 2014 release. The reason why names of these games arent mentioned like the rest of them is in the bolded part:

"Gibeau pointed to EA’s upcoming E3 press conference, noting “regarding next generation consoles, we are under a non-disclosure agreement with our platform partners. However, we’re planning a full reveal at E3 including more next-generation titles in development for fiscal year 2014. This will include breakthroughs in graphics and gameplay for some of our biggest franchises including Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, and Need for Speed. We plan to unveil new titles from EA Sports, BioWare, and DICE and a first look at some brand new games.”

Then again, its all open to interpretation :pinched:

I doubt Laidlaw is lying but its a case of basically his boss's bosses having more say in when games ship. And according to what Gibeau and Probst said yesterday it only seems certain that DA3 will be shown at E3 but it looks rather uncertain whether its slated to come out this calendar year or even this fiscal year. EA isn't officially saying.

It might come out this year, it might not. But from any of the collected quotes from Gibeau or Probst yesterday, I don't think any of them give confidence that DA3 will ship this year, simply that they'll be talking about DA3 at E3.

I'm eager to see what the Dragon Age team has done with the frostbite engine. Also CGI trailers are usually kick ass to watch.

The only ones who might have a bigger voice than Laidlaw when it comes to release dates for Dragon Age games is Mark Darrah, as Executive Producer on the IP, or Aaryn Flynn, as the GM of BioWare's Edmonton and Montreal studios. The corporate executives of EA aren't the ones who set the deadlines.

Read this. Any decision, good or bad, when it comes to managing time and resources, are made internally at BioWare. Credit where it's due.

supposedly they started making it right after DA2 was released so over two years ago. if released in december it will be almost 3 years so I think it will be this year and that they are very far along

I agree with you.  People are worried that with whatever is going to be shown at E3 is cutting it close if it comes out this year.  I don't see that because the game still has time to be worked on and to be a good game.  IMO I really think they where holding off on showing anything because they needed to wait until all next gen consoles were announced.  Now that Microsoft is announcing the next xbox, they can actually start telling us more information.

yeah the next gen made them have to be quiet. also they have been working on it for awhile already. one thing people seem to be stupid about is that it won't be for this gen and next gen as well. the sales for DA3 if it was only next gen would be horrible I think they would actually lose money despite the stuff microsoft and sony give them  for making it next gen exclusives

I actually think the game will be released on both this generation of consoles and the next. Just like Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, and a couple of other games.
