Umm lol i already have... (the guy at eb is like yeah u can deposit now if u want and I'm like AHHHH DA3!)
Did that guy give you a receipt for that transaction?
I don't really understand pre-orders. Sure, you may get additional content worth (Aussie shelf prices) $7, but if the game is $90, that's a lot to fork out based on no post-release info.
(I think, for me, it's more based on disposable income at the time, rather than whether I *love* the series.)

I could buy DA3 when at a small price (or used, but if is like ME3, the price will drop soon enough) and only if there are chasind or elf blooded background for the PC. but only if I really have nothing else to play.

The only forumites worse are those that brag about doing the preorder for a game they clearly hate and lecturing others on being a good consumer.
Was there any point to this thread anyway?

it's a stupid move, why should I blindly trust a developper hat has money to lose? I'd much rather wait for neutral opinions to tell me how it is.
for Bioware games I usually then buy the normal edition and if at the end of the game I'm like "let's do a new game" as soon as the credit roll then I buy the collector's edition

I am, just to spite this thread now.
In all seriousness, who cares if you are or not?
Dude speaks the truth.
For the sake of getting involved: as with most games, pre-ordering it'll be contextual. Can I afford it? Will I actually have the time for it upon release? Etc. That said, BioWare's games are better than most - despite the hate from a minority of its fans (now there's an oxymoron for you!) - so that'll be a sizable consideration.

Some people will preorder, of course. I'm waiting for reviews. I am fairly sure that they're going to put in the time, this time, to make a good game, but I need to know if it will be something that will actually appeal to me before I buy it.
I made assumptions about Awakening and then DA2 which turned out to be wrong. I'm giving DA3 a chance in that I'm open to hear about it rather than just writing off the franchise. But I hope they do better QA work this time around as well.
I think this is a good idea. Some of the information that's been released about Inquisition is not to my liking (from the voiced protagonist and the paraphrasing dialogue to the "human only" protagonist) but I'm going to wait to hear what others have to say about it before I consider purchasing it.
If it turns out to be bad, I can make up my own ending to my canon run and call it a day.

Not gonna buy it. I'll just watch the game (walkthrough) on YouTube since it's all cutscenes anyway
Considering that the majority of DA2 (unless you have some friends in Bioware/EA that shown you the game, I'll guess you were talking from past experience) consisted in slaughtering hordes of enemies, I think I'm going to disagree with you.
About the OP: I don't know. We don't have a clue about what the game will be about, other than the leaked survey, which could be wrong.

Pre-ordering games in general is not a smart thing to do.
FINALLY someone smart enough not to just willingly bend over for the big mighty corporations who are ready to screw you in the arse with draconian DRM, disc-locked content and day-one DLC.
Not to mention that paying in advance for a product you know nothing about is just plain dumb.

Technically, you'll have a general sense of what the game is about.

Yes, I'm gonna pre-order it. In fact, I'm going to pre-order the biggest and most expensive edition there is.
Probably the Australian edition.

Oh really? So how much did you know about Mass Effect 3 when the first pre-order options become available and people pre-ordered their N7 Edition of ME3 straight away? ME3 Multiplayer wasn't even announced back then, we only saw 2 or 3 gameplay demos and the content of the N7 Edition wasn't even certain at that point! Yet people pre-ordered their N7 Edition copies like crazy. Many of those people now complain how bad ME3 is, how terrible the endings are and most of them sold their copies of ME3.
With video-game publishers these days (not just EA, but primarily EA), you never know what you're gonna get until the game is actually there. I for one do not like to be surprised by draconian DRM, disk-locked content and day-one DLC. Therefor I do not pre-order my games anymore and simply wait until the release date to make sure there are no nasty surprises waiting for me.
