Absolutely. I love all Bioware games I have played (Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 included). The only thing that will stop me from preorder is a next gen exclusive release.

I never preorder anything and am somewhat confused by the very concept, unless it's for free day one DLC or something. However, that's no slur against DA3 specifically.

Planning to, as soon as it's available for pre-order.

Nah, I'm not addicted to this crap and it is obvious they're going to make it like DA2 which was a joke compared to Origins. If I ever play it I would just wait until they release an Ultimate Edition to save money.

Oh really? So how much did you know about Mass Effect 3 when the first pre-order options become available and people pre-ordered their N7 Edition of ME3 straight away? ME3 Multiplayer wasn't even announced back then, we only saw 2 or 3 gameplay demos and the content of the N7 Edition wasn't even certain at that point! Yet people pre-ordered their N7 Edition copies like crazy. Many of those people now complain how bad ME3 is, how terrible the endings are and most of them sold their copies of ME3.

With video-game publishers these days (not just EA, but primarily EA), you never know what you're gonna get until the game is actually there. I for one do not like to be surprised by draconian DRM, disk-locked content and day-one DLC. Therefor I do not pre-order my games anymore and simply wait until the release date to make sure there are no nasty surprises waiting for me.

We knew that ME3 would be a story-heavy RPG with TPS combat.

And that was correct.

Sten: No. I will never pre-order a BioWare game again after getting burned with DA2 and ME3. I don't have the money for that kind of gamble for something I might not like.

But My opinion of them has soften again(though I still don't like "New" BioWare) since I've been playing Origins and some of the older game again lately. So IF(and that's a big if) The game is good or not poorly writen(They do seem to be taking their time with it this time and not ****ing it out half-assed like DA2 and ME3 so maybe will be good) I MIGHT rent it when it comes out. If I have the coin and the will to play it.

When they actually show trailers and all at PAX and E3 then i will be thinking about weather to pre order. It depends on how good the trailers and how good they attract me to the game but we shall have to wait and see.

You're surprised by day one DLC?

As for the topic, I never pre-order anything, and DA3 won't be the first.

This is going to be my first pre-order of a video game ever! Depending on the options actually provided when we have official pre-order information, I think I may even go all out for the collector's edition or similar. I love every offering in the Dragon Age series so far =)

There is nothing to pre-order.

I don't mean that it is not available, but there is not enough information for me to make a decision. Will it work on my hardware? Will it work on my operating system? Does it require a constant online connection? Can it run from a SSHD? What is the ESRB rating? Will it get me laid?

Too many unknowns to even attempt a wild emotional response much less a realistic answer.

I will not be pre-ordering. I may buy the game after reading player reviews.

Not only that, on release day I will be standing outside of my local game store at nine am with a coffee in one hand and a Danish in the other, waiting for the metal curtain to be rolled up so I can get it as soon as humanly possible. (I guess I could go with a digital pre-order and get it nine hours earlier, I suppose, but it would probably be a good idea for me to get some sleep before I start the game. Also, I like having my favourite games in boxes.)

Given that I loved the first two, I see no reason to assume I won't love the third one as well. Unless I hear something that changes my mind (like, IDK, "Dragon Age is now a flight simulator!") I will certainly pre-order.

Depends on what kind of goodies (bribery) they are offering me. If it is enough I will pre order the CE edition.

Was it correct though?

To me ME3 felt more like an action-heavy TPS with a very shallow and weak plot, that completely falls appart at the end.

And then there was the multiplayer surprise (which ironically turned out to be better than the singleplayer), that bullcrap DRM, disc-locked content  and stripped characters and story arcs, to be sold back to us seperately as day-one DLC. All that stuff was revealed later AFTER I already preordered ME3.

Yeah, best not to pre-order any EA games anymore, just to be sure.

i think I will not even buy the game at all. DA2 and ME3 where enough.

I could buy DA3 when at a small price (or used, but if is like ME3, the price will drop soon enough) and only if there are chasind or elf blooded background for the PC. but only if I really have nothing else to play.

Well if it's anything like DA2, your local gamestop should have bins full of returned copies on release day.  I ended up picking up a copy the same week it was released for like 12 bones.  Assuming it isn't always on though, I'm not convinced it will not be, even after the SIMCITY thing.

If I'm not absolutely broke, then yes, I'll probably preorder. Might even preorder the Collector's/Signature Edition, depending on the content... and how long I am willing to live on rice and beans.

It was exactly correct. Mass Effect's combat experience was similar, though more polished. The RPG experience was similar, though it might be argued diminished. The story focus was about ten times stronger.

Functionally, everything was the same. Just like DA:O and DA ][: plot and character heavy RPGs with turn-based, "tactical" combat. Just like Assassin's Creed--Third-Person Adventure game heavy on plot and protagonist characterization. Just like TES (at least since Morrowind)--fantasy FPS with almost no characterization, a grand sweeping plot, and a heavy focus on world exploration.
