Dark Space

It seems to fit perfectly into this suicide mission. I believe we will follow or chase the collectors into Dark Space where we will have this final showdown. Now I know it may seem far fetched, but I can't understand how it can be a suicide mission without including Dark Space. If it wasn;t in dark space, then why wouldn't we have the help of the galactic community?
Just my assumption, any thoughts?

Nope, don't think so, if you read the novels you'll now the suicide mission is about crossing the Omega-4 Relay leading to the Collector's home system, nobody ever crossed that relay and came back, it's also confirmed through the achievements.
I didn't think of the book. You're right. Okay I concede my thinking on this issue then.

I kind of hope we venture into darkspace though, but it won't be a gameplay thing I assume, because Darkspace is virtually lots of nothing!, it'd be like we prepare a fleet of all the galaxy's races and activate the Citadel's relay and move into darkspace to destroy the reapers in their hibernation, that's be an awesome ending for ME3.
But again, we still need to figure out how to make the citadel relay work both ways so we can jump into darkspace.

Anyway... Not sure what they do really. There could very well even be others in the galaxy, if the quick clip from the "Enemies" video is anything to go by.

It reminds me of the crappy Matrix sequels when the movie basically tells the audience
"Don't worry if this sounds like pseudo-intellectual, post modern philosophical bull ****, you don't need to understand it."
I for one would like to know why the Reapers do what they do, where they came from and what their purpose is. Don't tell me I'm too stupid to understand it Mr.Karpyshyn.

The reapers aren't "recycled", they're the overarching villains of the entire Mass Effect Trilogy.

Oh, I see. You just don't like the reapers, hence your rather "interesting" way of looking at the recurring reaper threat in the trilogy. Listen hombre, this is a 3 part story arc. Would it have been fun if Luke Skywalker reformed Darth vader and killed Emperor Palpatine in the first Star Wars movie? No. Star Wars was an epic struggle between light and dark, between good and evil. The resolution occurs in the 3rd act.
Likewise, Mass Effect is the struggle between the organics and the synthetics. That's its overarching theme. The reapers won't be destroyed in ME2. You probably won't even learn much about their motivations.
That's the kind of stuff you just don't exhibit in the first, or even the second act. You save that for the grand finale.

Hmmm, it seems to be a bit early for Dark Space as that would mean the whole third game would be in Dark Space and as far as I know there's not a whole lot there other than the Reapers. That'd make for a very quick and empty game.

Same reason as ME1 I'd assume; the leaders of the galactic community have their heads so far up their own a**** they're choking on them.

Well that would be anticlimactic. The Reapers have been destroying species for over a billion years and humans come in a defeat them in 2 years. Good story telling.Borschtbeet wrote...

I'm calling it now. This is whats going to happen with the Reapers. We will not beat their fleet. That just doesn't seem possible seeing as they've been building it up for over a billion years. What will happen at the end of ME3 is this. We completly cut them off from the galaxy. Meaning their only way back in is to do it the old fashion way, which will take tens of thousands of years. Maybe millions. By then we may be advanced enough to take them in a straight fight.WrexShepard wrote...

Very good, I am intrigued by this idea.
But in essence, all they have to do is destroy the Citadel? or any Mass Relays they can find in the far out reaches closest to Dark Space. May take a while but still a small thing to do compared to a war with them.

It's worth noting that the second act often ends with a large revelation leading into the final act-for example, the end of Empire Strikes Back with Darth Vader/Luke.WrexShepard wrote...
