Your right about that. I wonder what the revelation will be.bboyser8 wrote...
It's worth noting that the second act often ends with a large revelation leading into the final act-for example, the end of Empire Strikes Back with Darth Vader/Luke.WrexShepard wrote...

somehow killed off or something in Mass Effect 2. I don't want to see
the same villain group recycled in every game.
The reapers aren't "recycled", they're the overarching villains of the entire Mass Effect Trilogy.Borschtbeet wrote...
I don't like the whole "We are beyond your understanding" explanation behind the Reaper's motives.
It reminds me of the crappy Matrix sequels when the movie basically tells the audience
"Don't worry if this sounds like pseudo-intellectual, post modern philosophical bull ****, you don't need to understand it."
I for one would like to know why the Reapers do what they do, where they came from and what their purpose is. Don't tell me I'm too stupid to understand it Mr.Karpyshyn.
Oh, I see. You just don't like the reapers, hence your rather "interesting" way of looking at the recurring reaper threat in the trilogy. Listen hombre, this is a 3 part story arc. Would it have been fun if Luke Skywalker reformed Darth vader and killed Emperor Palpatine in the first Star Wars movie? No. Star Wars was an epic struggle between light and dark, between good and evil. The resolution occurs in the 3rd act.
Likewise, Mass Effect is the struggle between the organics and the synthetics. That's its overarching theme. The reapers won't be destroyed in ME2. You probably won't even learn much about their motivations.
That's the kind of stuff you just don't exhibit in the first, or even the second act. You save that for the grand finale.

Shepherd might need to call Dr. Michio Kaku

Just had a hunch, that we'll be going into dark space in ME2
It seems to fit perfectly into this suicide mission. I believe we will follow or chase the collectors into Dark Space where we will have this final showdown. Now I know it may seem far fetched, but I can't understand how it can be a suicide mission without including Dark Space. If it wasn;t in dark space, then why wouldn't we have the help of the galactic community?
Just my assumption, any thoughts?
The suicide mission is rather because we're chasing Collector's and probably we'll go into their space territory, from which pretty much no one comes back alive.
That's why it's suicidal.

A real suicide mission would being going out in Intergalactic Space (Between Galaxies[Dark space]). Once your out there its a little hard to come back.

I'm calling it now. This is whats going to happen with the Reapers. We will not beat their fleet. That just doesn't seem possible seeing as they've been building it up for over a billion years. What will happen at the end of ME3 is this. We completly cut them off from the galaxy. Meaning their only way back in is to do it the old fashion way, which will take tens of thousands of years. Maybe millions. By then we may be advanced enough to take them in a straight fight.
I doubt it would take quite that long, their ships are likely capable of rapid FTL, though not as rapid as the Mass Relays provide. Further, I would think that it would take considerably less time to reach their technology level seeing as there is still a whole heap load of sovereign to pick through, which would almost certainly yield some major advances, and quickly.

So your theory is the Reapers have oral sex while in dark space?vhatever wrote...
No one knows what they do in dark space. It's all specualtion. I think they travel around the universe. When they go into "oral space"... they are just leaving our galaxy, and dark space is in reference to the vast void of space between galaxies.
That would explain wipeing out all those civilizations.
