That's sweet.

You think the on-host DR bug was intentional.

I totally agree with the original poster. They are tough, they are always a priority and they are fair. Very well designed. They have abilities that are tough to deal with but are not cheap like so many other enemies.

Yes an enemy designed to be a helluva lot more difficult for the host is totally fair.

I have been unable to post for nearly a year. I have seen this enemy whined about more than nearly anything in that time. Many, many threads have insulted my poor Phantom. Lately Dragoons and Bombers take the cake, but complaints about Phantoms and their on host DR (which is actually just glitched off host like most things) have always bothered me.

I understand where you're coming from and I do think phantoms aren't that difficult to deal with most of the time, I also like how they're probably the smartest enemies in the game. However, as far as I know their DR is bugged on host, not off. They should receive 90% DR when flipping but the host has to deal with that DR whenever the phantom is moving at all.

If they nerfed the Phantom ranged attack, she'd need to be adjusted so that she's not incredibly easy to kite and was little threat outside of her sync kill.

Also, the Dragoon doesn't hit any harder than the Assault Trooper.

Nerfing the ranged attack is not necessary, removing the dam silencer from her palmifex is.
Also making it so she does not have ~80% effective DR while flipping is necessary as well, either that or give *us* that degree of DR while dodging (or at least the Drell and Shadow flips).

Dragoons are an abomination to this game's original desgin, their AI is just plain stupid.

Go kill one with just a saber and no powers while under pressure from all directions and tell me how fair it is.

This is actually my preferred method of dispatching a phantom. I never use powers with any of my classes (lolsoldiers) and i love the Saber. Headshot, stun, recovering, line up the next headshot, phantom down.

Your opinion, Op, agreeable. But why this topic all of a sudden? Are Phantoms under appreciated or is this thread in response to complaints about or lack of topics about phantoms?

Edit: Yup. Small, vicious little fun packages they are though. Do they pop out of birthday cakes too?

I have been unable to post for nearly a year. I have seen this enemy whined about more than nearly anything in that time. Many, many threads have insulted my poor Phantom. Lately Dragoons and Bombers take the cake, but complaints about Phantoms and their on host DR (which is actually just glitched off host like most things) have always bothered me.

Goons are cheesy, Bombers are a joke 90% of the time or more. But Phantoms are a pure joy, and sometimes even a legitimate challenge. Every time you find another way to beat them is a joy, from bouncing them off the ceiling with concussive arrows to timing a double lash followed with warp to fling them into a group of enemies and blow them up.

Also, they are kinda sexy if you happen to look at the game models that way. I like athletic girls. But then I like most "kinds" of girls/women...

:lol: Yeah. I have to agree. Complaints don't matter. They are fun to fight with. I have been trying all my classes on them. Sexy? Hell yeah..Always had a sweet spot for dangerous girls. Hope my wife doesn't see this!

This is the sort of inane crap that makes BSN so entertaining. "Go get yourself into a situation where you have failed to control enemy spawns or even be aware of enemy positioning, get surrounded, pretend this is a straight shooter with no powers, and tell me how it goes for you!"

You know what is immense source of fun? When enemies that you snipe from across the map get respawned on the spawn point you're standing at.

One does not simply disagree with the great Stratoblip and his on-host lag.

Yes, we are performing the ritual to awaken stratoblip from his deep cryo slumber. Then he can finally carry us all to platinum glory, like Mass Effect Jesus.

Phantoms COULD be balanced if they didn`t spawn in packs of 4 during later Cerberus waves. You turn around a corner, get into LOS of a Phantom death squad - and the next very moment you`re one dead N7 operative.
