I have a Lv 15 Rogue and recently bought the Ranger manual, as well as
received training from Zevran to unlock the Assassin class.

On
the Level Up screen it says I have 2 Specialization points but all
Specializations are still locked. I do not have the RTO DLC, but did
download The Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor DLCs.

Is this a glitch or am I missing something? Does anyone know of a possible fix?

The title update = the glitch, not the RTO DLC.



I cleared my cache (hit the xbox button, go to system, go to memory, hit Y, and clear cache), which deleted all "game updates" but not DLC, saves, etc.



Then I loaded a character who had previously unlocked Champion, talked to Alistair to unlock Templar, talked to Oghren to unlock Beserker, then simply exited the game.



I shut down the xbox.



Then I restarted, loaded a separate character from an auto-save after the introductory conversation with Cailan at Ostagar, leveled him up and had the 3 specializations unlocked.



In other words, I think clearing the cache works.

No.  The update is no longer available from xbox Live.

do you have to start a toon from scratch after you clear cache and unlock a spec and reboot? can anyone confirm? or can you reload your toon and keep going?

So am I just screwed now? I am a mage and level 15. I did what was required to become an Arcane Warrior and Blood Mage. I am unable to do these 2 things again. I don't have any saves prior to these tasks. Am I forced to start a new character again?

No, just load a save where you can easily unlock *ANY* specialization.  After you unlock any specialization, quit, and then reload, it seems to have unlocked all the specializations that you had previously found.

This is really a simple fix.

If you've already spec'd AW, then it's not a problem for you anyway.  If you need to unlock it again, just talk to Alistair or Oghren and unlock either of their specializations, it should re-unlock Arcane Warrior.

I am in the same boat as DDE263 but I don't have any other save games.  I only keep one plus the auto save.  Alistair also hates me and I don't have Oghren.  Anything I can do?

I believe unlocking literally *any* specialization will restore all of your previously unlocked specs.

This would be good news as there is no way to become a Blood Mage for me again. I'll give it a try and hope it works. I actually have started a new mage but it would be nice to just have another character gain a Specialization and have the Blood Mage option show up again.

Also dont forget the duelist in the Pearl. depending on your characters stats or who you have in your party that one can be an easy one to get. I can confirm this works, because I cleared my cache on my own hoping that would work a few days ago and when I first started playing I noticed it hadent fixed my spec locks, but as I kept playing, and rebooted, It unlocked them all. I was wondering what changed, and I can specifically remember unlocking some specializations during that play period. I may have unlocked one or two, but now all of my specs are unlocked again.

Just keep doing the cache clear and switch console off technique, they will come back eventually.

Yeah you just gotta clear your cache, and after you do that unlock any specialization on any playthrough and they all come back.

Successful way to re-unlock your specializations if you did download the patch is as follows; You have to do a Gamertag Recovery. This forces Microsoft to re-sync your profile and therefor corrects the error applied by the patch. To do this, sign out of all your profiles then select the box for Profile Sign-In, select Recover Gamertag and input the information for your Xbox Live ID. It wont erase or change any of your data because you are simply re-writing the profile you already have back onto to your hard-drive. Then go into an old save file, find a way to re-unlock just one specialization (I suggest using some party members' dialogue options) then save in a NEW file. Exit the game completely, then when you go back in all specializations you had unlocked will be re-opened across your entire profile. Yay!

THANK you! Lol I tried to get on this forum days ago when I realised what happened and site was down, waited 30 min for an EA customer service rep on live chat...and he said unlock them again...which I went back and did for several but they keep getting RE LOCKED ><

Success with the cache clear and reboot of system! Asked Alistair regarding Templar training, bought a tome to rank up and got my Arcane Warrior and Blood Mage back. Thanks everyone for all the help!

Didn't work for me and I had all except maybe blood mage...even more sadly I did it the honest way by buying the books so it's more frustrating!

The trouble is that I go back and get templar from Alistair and whatever...and go to level up Sten in a different file...and no specializations though I definitely had ALL of the Warrior ones. Not even Templar!

i followed the instructions to clear the cache ... i restarted my xbox .... i opened up dragon age and loaded an old save and bought a "specialisation tome" ... it came up with you have unlocked blah blah... i loaded my main character who has a save game where he has just leveld and still i cant see the spec's .....



i reallly dont want to play through all the **** again.. any ideas?
