They are insanely powerful characters to play. When shimmering shroud is up, which I can now run non stop, all resistances are 75%, physical mental near a 100...he just doesnt take damage.

I only put about four or five points on dex and that was after level 16/17. Does me playing on PS3 increase my hit rate? All I know is combat magic makes me hit enemies much more.

Yes. There is a flat attack bonus that scales with difficulty which varies on platforms. The Pc version is just plain harder at any setting.

The diference is only about 5% so it shouldn't give me 70% more hit rate than a person on PC.

Is there any point in going in the primal tree for an AW?
The frost line has some decent damage plus crowd control. The earth line has some pretty decent defensive and offensive spells, and stonefist is a great spell to smack down on mages. Fireball is a great damage and CC spell, and the recharge time is pretty good. I have never dabbled in shock. Also, not that the frost and flame weapon spells will significantly up your weapon damage, but you can't have two of them active at once.

One hilarious vulnerability (although not often encountered) of AW's is dispel magic. If that thing hits, say goodbye to all your sustains--shimmering shield, miasma, whatever, you'll have to wait for the cooldown. Which is why it's nice to have a pocket forcefield, so you can immediately shield yourself while the cooldown on SS finishes.
AW's can be beasts but I found that the autoattack gets very old after a while, and it's hard to keep allies alive without something like cleansing aura to pull in aggro. Maybe I'll try a more offensive-focused AW sometime...

Flaming weapons can give you upwards of +10 extra damage per hit on higher levels. But I prefer telekinetic weapons because it's not resisted by anything and I like every spell down that line.

That does suck when you lose all the sustainables. Forcefield is a great defense against that to give you some time but then your party'll take all the damage. You should try to do a blood mage AW, one blood sacrifice from an animal summoned by a ranger (Lelianna) heals you up and you get the best crowd control spell that also gets lots of aggro.
