I feel the need to point out; Aliens are called Aliens because they are unexplainable.

They are called aliens because they are not from the earth IE foreigners are called foreigners because they are not from the country they are currently in, not because they are mystical god-like beings with unexplainable natures and abilities....

If Magic means something is unexplainable, wouldn't science/scientists be the exact opposite because they provide explainations not just for the pattern but how they work as well?

Things that might make guns less effective:

Fantasy/Legendary Armor: Basically the armor in Thedas/Dragon Age might be on a notably higher level than the armor in the real world was, though some of the cinematics seem to portray them as being more akin to butter....

Incredibly strong humans might be using bows with incredible amounts of force, maybe making them more comparable to guns? Thats an actual question there, not being sarcastic.

Guns vs Swords: During guns matchlock days didn't the Scoth manage to carve a bloody swath through england using swords/shields due to reload times of the english weapons, get in sight of London and just say f'it and go home?

Magic: Sounds sarcastic but mages already have spells like rock skin and force fields in dragon age already to help protect them.....could do a lot to make early guns pretty limited in use.

Second, yes, many say clockwise is for positive energy, in which they actually wrong and deluded. Many pagan and witchcraft practices need us to be on clockwise, there they release the negative energy that makes whatever they are doing working. I have a Scottish friend, he too feel wird when i mentioned about counter clockwise, because he's study Celtic and say about clockwise in ancient pagan ritual

The Ka'abah was a pagan site in Arabia, there was 360 idols inside it, and Arab people rotate in clockwise. Prophet Muhammad who later destroy those idols and ordering Muslims to rotate counter clockwise, it have been like that since 1400 years now.

You know that the complete circle is 360 degree, the 360 idols that was inside Ka'abah representing that, it means, the world before is governed by Magic...Dark Magic.

Do you wonder why Muslims being portrayed as the bad guys all these time and why? There was Crusades and now War on Terror.... It have nothing to do with religion and race, it is the war that happened since the beginning. It is not about Islam, Jews, Christians, and so on. Not about Arabs, Jews, white men, Asians....it is about Magic.

Similar like in DA:Inquisition where we must find the culprit behind everything, the culprit who spark the war, the culprit who release darspawn and awaken the Old God. The Blight itself change everything on Thedas, the last Blight change Ferelden. Kirkwal event happen after the last Blight.

There are Mages, Templars and Grey Wardens. The Chantry believe that Mages are to be blamed for everything and that give them right to oppress mages, hunt them down, lock them in the Tower and so on, it is because mages who bring the Blight upon the world. Grey warden are the people who against the Blight, they appear since the first Blight. They have their significant and influence. Templar is Chantry arm.

Now, who gain and who lost from the conflicts?

To keep Grey Warden significance they need the Blight...don't forget that it was the Warden who elect King of Orzamar, King of Ferelden, settling Ferelden Circle conflict. The Grey Warden was in Kirkwal before Qunari attack. Anders is a Warden, and he who blow up the Chantry.

What is the relationship between "Black City", "Darkspawn", "Old God", "Grey Warden", "The Warden", "Anders", "Mages"and "Templar" with everything?

So, the conflict is the very same in the beginning, it is all about MAGIC

Star Wars, Lord of the Ring, Harry Porter...and many more, it is all the same....MAGIC

Do gunpowder solve every magic problem? The answer is yes....BUT the conflict continue in different form...once who called Magisters/Magus are now Scientists, what once called as Magic are now Science, what once called as heresy are now scientific theory

Thedas will have secret society of Blood Mages who control everything, there will be United Nation of Thedas, there will be government within government...everybody are Thrall of Blood Mages...and yes, they use guns

... you know your talking to a pagan right?  I'ld say more and explain things but I've been fighting with computer and need to sleep...

The reason for counter clockwise is the very place we live now rotate counter clockwise and the shiny thing in the sky at night rotate around the place we live now counter clockwise...why you want to rotate the other way?

Anti-clockwise is the same as counter-clockwise, it just means something is turning in the opposite direction that a clock turns.

I can't speak to its occult significance. It's a good thing we have Qistina and n7stormrunner to educate us.
