Hello All,

 Recently, Gamersgate had a sale on NWN2 and I decided to pick it up.  After downloading and installing the game and its expansions, I had a problem with walking.  Upon inspecting the forums, it was due to either the game version not being up to date (even though it said it was and I had to manually patch it) or due to my graphics driver not being updated (which also said it was up to date).  Either way, that resolved that issue.  Also, at some point, I found that client extention or patch thing, but it doesn't seem to have helped.

After that being corrected, a new set of problems has reared.  Now, most NPCs no longer have heads and many object have dissapeared or not interactable.  For example, when you start the first campaign, the npc, your "Foster Father" has no head (some father), the room is now unfurnished and there's no interactable door.  The chest is still there though...

Any ideas? 

My machine specs:
Intel i7 @1.6ghz
8g ram
Direct x11
Radeon HD 5870 
Win 7 64bit. Should be updated.

did you put in Dx9.0c

The redistributable from MSoft. It co-exists w/ Dx11 jus' fine and is (usually?) needed for NwN2.


newer vidcards/drivers can also be a bit wonky but i haven't heard of unfixable issues, Other than that the installation can go a bit wonky as well so think about 'corrupt' files and a reinstall ...

How do I check for the Dx9.0c? Is that a dxdiag or is that a configuration in the game you're talking about?

I've heard you can't check : dxdiag will show Dx11

you should Google it, there might be a way. But if you haven't put it in yourself on win7/64 it's probably not there. My understanding is that (even some recent games) still require a few graphics files from Dx9.0c -- get it from microsoft site.

So I'm trying to do a full reinstall. I noticed that when installing the Storm xpack, it said that there was a crc error and that Templates.zip didnt match something in the setup (or some similar message). I have my copy from gamers gate and the reinstall I did was with fresh downloads.

Sry i don't know what Storm or xpack are

But Templates.zip not matching might mean NwN2 wasn't deinstalled properly
