You conviniently left out the fact that in the same time it takes for the claymore to dish out the 4 shots with cancels, the crusader has already laid down 6 if not more. love how people leave things like that out of the equation, not to mention, to get that reliable damage on the claymore, you either need to have a choke and a character that has some degree of accuracy or damage buff to negate the spread down range, GI for example, or some of the soldiers, or the target needs to be big enough.
While the crusader, if you have spent any time playing FPS games becomes second nature to anyone who knows how to recoil cancel while rapid firing weapons that kick like a mule, and you dont need a buff to compensate for accuracy, as it is practically pinpoint accurate. albeit, i still prefer raider and wraith over it, since one can spread the damage more, you are less prone to go low on ammo, and finally, you can use your talents at a reliable pace.

Sometimes I worry about you, man.

Do you know how to read english and numbers?

If you do, did you read what I wrote?

There's something I would like to add to the argument, by the way. Before answering a couple of posts.

And it's something that I feel nobody mentioned although it's at the core of why the claymore is such a great gun.

It's the capability to hide a reload into a power animation.

But... What is the purpose of doing this, damage-wise? It's pretty easy. It's done so that you can continue to put out a respectable DPS (sometimes even higher than the gun's) while you reload the gun.

Depends on the power.

Uh? If it's not a direct damage power, it's a debuff, which in turn leads to a higher damage, so it's the same.

Not quite what I meant.

For some powers, the cooldowns synchronise better with the Wraith or Talon for reload masking.

Ah sorrry, I didn't understand that.

It's not exactly true in my experience. I mean ok, the claymore doesn't synchronise perfectly with some powers, that's ture, but no power sincronyse with the talon. You waste a lot of no CD time if you only fire the power during reloads. The Wraith's better already, but the fact that it has that aweful rof makes it worse than the claymore at this. Althought it's better at a lot of other things.

i understood it being twice the cycle.(shoot+reload cancel and follow up shot) and as such 4 shots. if its just one cycle. i would still take the others over it, because you need to have that certain thing going(more accuracy or a large damage buff, or a big target if down range) for claymore to be "that reliable"

Because of the awesome sound. And the fact that you can pop heads with it unlike some of the less popular weapons, which makes it extremely satisfying to use. Also because it's a rare you probably will get a Claymore X before you get even a Wraith V. Objectively, it's not all that great. Wraith is barely worse vs. bosses and much better vs. footsoldiers. Talon is just plain better overall.

On topic, I agree.  The Claymore is better versus footsoldiers on low weapon damage classes imo because it more consistently oneshots, but for those the weight makes it a bit unwieldy.  Talon, most OP gun in the game (because the lolreegar doesn't count)

be careful- Talon worship turned those two into husks! Clearly it is a weapon of Reaper design.

You sir are a weapon expert, but you don't understand Krogan. We don't judge sh-t. You either agree with us by headbutting your approval or, else, we headbutt you in the face, cut off your balls with the omni-blade attachment, feed them to our Varren and blast your brains out with the Claymore.

Claymore is my favorite shotty for sure. It is just too much fun reload cancelling it. Plus it works perfectly with my incinerate-less Krogan Sentinel.

I think everyone who swears by the claymore, should have this sticker on their claymore.
https://encrypted-tb...7MXi2bWrCuX99_z

I should have 2 and a rainbow and a heart sticker. Because I use the Claymore in other games too.
They really should let us customize our guns in ME4.

I'm gonna need to know how to do that, m'kay?

Allright, at first I also didn't get what all the fuss was about this Calymore? Then I learned how to re-load cancel (finally!). And the claymore instead of being utter trash, became good. But still didn't get why it's so popular yet.

Then I seen this HS with Claymore 11:59 speedrun found in this here topic; http://social.biowar.../index/15332872

and then I truely started to understand it's awesomeness on an entire new level. And not just on the HS, but other charater/classes too (just that the HS gave me that push in the right drection).

The other things I started discovering that made me realize why it's so awesome was that it has a learning curve too. Rewards skill & pratice. So you can't be a total scrub to love this gun (even though I'm not really that good at all so far).As I find things that are too easy and simple to learn to be effective at get boring more quickly. And it's range with a choke is so good for a shottie + all other things mentioned here like not being exposed for too long to take out whatever (works perfect for hard cover too).

Then there are the no brainer parts like how awesome it feels (in particular with Reload Canceling).

I don't care for it. In fact most of the things BSN likes are some of the things I just could not care any less for.

Drell, the N7 Fury, Claymore, Reegar, Senturian, Salarian Infiltrator, Grenade Capacity, and the AIU could all disappear and I feel like I'd be the only one not giving a damn.

I agree with all of those but Drell. There's nothing else that has the same fast paced feel.

"Well gee, aren't you special, unique and all that then."

Well, yeah, no s**t it all comes down to you and how you personally feel about it based on your own individuality (man I hate blind followers/wannabees with a passion). But if something has as much fame as the Claymore, you'd think there is a good enough reason behind it & maybe warrents an investigation/re-evaluation? And surely enough, in this case, there is. (Plus I knew of Claymore fame before BSN & since first playing ME2, like I could feel something was wrong for me not getting that weapon? So it's not just BSN thing)

And BSN would miss AUI & Fury? They seem pretty boring and one-dimesional too me so far? ... Grenade capacity, hell, I'd totally lose it if that thing was taken away. Just got into grenades + I never seen a point in grenades before I got that thing and at a high enough level too.

I personally prefer the raider over claymore "not because claymore has a learning curve" but because i know claymores limitations, and it simply would not be able to keep up with my play style. with the way i keep using ammo, and visit an ammo box rarely. And yes, Hsol, and claymore was my go to soldier for an utterly long time. not untill they released the destroyer did i change it. And raider just lets me spread the damage over mooks more efficiently. Also another perk of not using claymore, but raider, wraith or some other non 1 shot shotgun, they tend to be lighter, thus enabling you to use your "talents" more often. i still use claymore on some select classes, which i dont mention here since some people might jump on bone and start picking on it.

but i think this video shows enough of the raiders marvels and why i decided on it instead of claymore

it is a simple, adaptation to game style :) and i think, for most people not swearing by claymore have the same reason, claymore is just too slow for them, or too ammo hungry. But it still has its uses :)

Ok, ignoring the condescending tone and odd grammar, but I'm going to take a wild stab and guess that you're new here. Everyone knows BSN has a hard-on for the Fury, and to a lesser extent, the AIU.

That reminds me, since there is little to no skill involved in reload canceling on the pc (due to medi gel hotkey to wherever convenience), and the fact that the vibe I'm getting here is that only elite PC players don't mind RC'ing (me, console scrub. Hello!:wizard:), just seems to prove my hunch correct? Only console scrubs who don't want to learn how to master the many different ways of reload canceling on a console ME3 to be completely good at it in every situation & character are the ones complaining to remove RC'ing. And that's just sad. Cause I think the conosle players have it way better with reload canceling then PC players since it does require much more skill & time to get down . Instead of something that might feel more like a cheat button or something? (Though I'd imagine if PC players didn't have the medi gel button, it would totally suck).
