LOL ME2 isn't even out and there is already a wishlist for ME3? Poor, poor developers, no rest for the wicked it seems. ;)

The dev team did make some changes and missed some opportunities for ME2. I'm not saying that it won't be fun and it looks a lot better than ME1, but there is still room for improvement based on what we've seen.

Idea:

I'd be a fun to happen upon a couple of "historical facts" from 2020s, like Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming a president of the United States, or Britain turning republic, or Hugo Chaves annexing Columbia and Panama.

- Customizable Armor for squad mates (or at least regular armor like in ME1)

- Replace the red veins with something like in COD

- Better box-art than ME2's !!!

- Visit Earth

- Option to pick what you did in ME1 and ME2 if you don't have a save

- More profanity

- Granades (but more powerfull then in ME1)

- Sci-Fi Revolver! :D

- More Loot

- Full description of what Shepard is going to say:

This was my biggest complaint about Mass Effect. Half the time what I chose and what Shepard actually said was completely different. I had to replay each dialogue a dozen times. Make something like right click the dialogue option and make a box come out that says the exact words Shepard is going to say. For the interrupt, simply add a minor explanation of what Shepard is going to do next to the interrupt button

My main hope for ME3 is that Shepard lives through the ending.

I've had the feeling that he won't for a long time, and I really hope I'm wrong.

Never happens. They call it replayability...

Concernning gameplay and assuming they get the shooter (CoD, to be precise) crowd hooked up with ME2:

- GET RID OF THE RED VEINS!!!

- Return to med-pack healing.

- Return skill-based hacking

Well, if ME3 took place 20 ish years or more after ME2, you could always play the part of your own offspring :P

- Ability to romance a reaper.

- Ability to kill anyone... civilians to bad guys

- Ability to have melee weapons. *Wants to wield a sword/light saber*

- Visit Earth

- Fly the Normandy from a FP perspective.

Time travel - all stories are made better with time travel; see Lost.

The opportunity to, if you wish, sit through an entire performance of Hamlet, as performed by an all-elcor cast. Complete with souvineer hats.

Ooooh. You obviously weren't around when I didn't even SUGGEST it, but asked what other's opinions on it would be.

http://meforums.biow...&forum=144&sp=0

Wow, I never saw that thread. Quite a shame to see so many people are so against it. I can see their point, badly implemented time travel would suck. Except, it's BioWare. I don't care if it comes off as fanboyish, I have every confidence they could pull off something epic.

I mean, there's so much history in this universe, it'd be so much more awesome if we got to see some of it first hand. Say, the Citadel when it was inhabited by a previous civilisation. Or one of the previous reaper invasions. Or something. As for people concerned with keeping all the choices straight, just make ME time travel the kind where everything you do is what already happened. Ultimately, no matter what choice you make, the future unfolds the way it always did. Might make it a little less fulfilling in terms of roleplaying, but they could balance that by making the choices resonate on a more personal level.

I doubt it'll have a place in the trilogy - unless it's something they've secretly envisioned from the start as it apparently is in Lost. It'd just be weird to have it as a little side mission in the middle of the trilogy's epic finale. Might make a cool sidegame though - some scientist from long ago or far in the future turns up somewhere around humanity's era, meets someone and you end up touring history for some reason. Heck, take the idea someone else said in what I think was this thread, set it a few decades after ME2 and you could play as Shepard's kid. Maybe Shepard's half-Asari kid ;)

The most important thing for me would be an extremely deep and satisfying story. I don't mind if it is bittersweet.

Apart from that, more variety/depth to make it even more immersive, such as female turians (yes I know the excuse is that how do we know none of the ones we've met haven't been female, but it would be good to hear someone refer to a turian as 'she' for instance). A range of body builds for a particular species would help as well - small, large, tall, short, etc... even if it only applies to humans.

How about some Protheans? You never know, there could be some random planet that got overlooked, a few stasis pods, a decent power source... it could happen. Heck, one could even be a squadmate.

No. Just no. One thing that is unique and special about Mass Effect's dialogue system, and you would ruin it for the sake of generic line-ups from the 90's? I say again: NO!
What would be the point of voice acting? You'd just hear what you just read. And it takes so long to read that the flow of the conversation gets boggled, and you can say goodbye to smooth, cinematic experience. My biggest complaint about Dragon Age was that it didn't use the dialogue wheel and full voice acting.

Seriously, some people...

I don't know what to wish yet, since I don't know what ME2 already has. As long as it has good scriptwriting, good dialogue, and an epic ending where you can decide out of several choices for the galaxy's future, I'll be happy. A playable epilogue would also be a nice touch - a kind of "where are they now?"-snippet where you could actually play a few minutes of Shepherd's life to be.

How can you tell? How you tell apart a Krogan male from female, for example?

I hope not. They're supposed to be ancient and mysterious. Having them directly involved would kill much of their charm. Though seeing some old Prothean holo-records would be pretty interesting...

My wish list (In decreasing order of sanity):

Palaven - I would love the Turian homeworld to be in, perhaps as the site of a pivotal battle against the reapers.

Fully Featured Space Combat - Perhaps somewhat akin to AFF:Planetstorm, and particularly a space battle above Palaven.

Living, Breathing Galaxy - I would like to see the game not end when you complete it, but have it continue to run, with consequences from your decisions making tangible impacts on daily goings on. That would also make adding larger DLC easier.

(preemptive apology for the typo's that will follow:  i'm sorry)
Just to make this clear, i loved both ME's but they could be better:

1) No major bugs on release (no joke here) :P

2)Better integration of the side-mission or at least the crew's loyalty mission with the main story, more main-mission quests. More side missions with some connection to the plot (other then get money, unless you really need money for the main plot, and it says so in the main plot).

3)More options: Better dialogue options (for ex: why can't i shoot the damn volus accusing the quarian on the citadel? why?), more quest options (why can't i help the same quarian buy a ship, or at least get a job? again just an example), more mission options (we have a big frigate in space, with guns, and missiles, which also happens to be stealthy, why can't we sneak our way in the enemy base or aboad a ship ignoring the fact that we fly up to the main door and land)? More aliens of both genders.  More ending options.

4)Bring back the ME1 skill system, especially Charm and Intimidate, i may be a paragon most of the time, but  some people deserve to be shoot. Why do i have to be a jerk most of the time to do that? And the unlockable system from ME 1, this one is limited, restrictive, boring. (a soldier with 3 ammo types as powers...) as well as individual power cooldown, so we can chain attacks, better biotics (is it me or was the singularity really weak?)

5)More planets to visit, more places to visit on a planet (let's just say i was dissapointed with the limited time spent in the exotic/nice places we get visit in ME2); Earth... let us visit it, or at the very least a moon colony, come on, please?

6)More crew/squad/npc interaction and between the crew and the squad not limited to one liners, but keep the humor, the humor was great; (and keep the 2 engineers). As for the npc-squad interaction expand it to more then a couple of lines, i was dissapointed with the limited reactions Legion gets.

7)More ship models, unless your going for the 'every ship from a race looks the same only differs in size' approach, in which case don't go for that approach, if you are going to keep colectable ship models in game at least let us look at em from all angles, zoom in and so on, maybe add a quest or two to get our hands on rare models. (like the first human spaceship)

8)Items:
-bring back item hoarding like in the first game (i'm fighting a war, it's natural i should get any gun i find and hoard it for my future priavate army), FIX the inventory (removing it does not count),maybe make it limited in size so we can chose what we carry with us on a mission (but still let us get most of the things we find back to the ship), and don't just recolor the 3 types of weapons and armors.Come on you can have swords that don't look alike but you can't make diffrent assault riffles from diffrent races... in space?
- bring back item customization and upgrade mods rather then have an overall upgrading option, or have both, standard upgrades for bigger bullets, accuracy and mods to help improve those (better scopes, longer barrels, improved clips that heat up slower, etc)
- keep the clips it helps a lot with the shooter immersion but find a way to have them cooldown rather then throwing them away so we don't run out of ammo in the middle of a fight. Like have 5 of them in roatation while the other cool down? At least make them bigger, or the option to make the bigger/slower to heat up , this is the future, i'd bring a modern day p90 or an m4 with drum magazine if my other choice is something that can only shoot 25 times before i have to reload.
-more armors with the ability to mix and match parts on them, and for the rest of the squad as well, but if i had to chose i'd go with more armours then more options to mix parts. The option to show helmets on or off even when you have it on, you did spend a bunch of money making Shep's face look lifelike-ish, why hide it behind a helmet we can't remove (DLC i'm looking at you). And ofc everyone should have armor, they may look cool/sexy w/o but it ruins the immersion/realism when they walk in vaccum with nothing but bikini and an oxygen mask. Have them remove it on ship (like shepard does).

9)More musical options, different musical types, atm it's good but most of it is unimpresive, and rarely varies, and if you keep the clock-stereo have it get new songs as you progress with the plot, i would have liked to get the song from the mad krogan attack. Also add some vocal parts, maybe it's time to invent Asari songs? ^^ I'm quite sure you can't go wrong with something like this: Stand at Mithril Hall

10)Improved in-game movies in relation to the lore/science; Didn't we have GARDIAN on the normandy? Didn't the flottila have 50k ships of diffrent size and shapes? Etc?

11)Keep up the good work, you've created something great it would be a shame to have it end so soon, if you do plan to end Sheps adventures with ME3 don't end the universe with it as well.

Well, the list apparently says "invest more time into the game".
I'd love to see it implemented, though, I also don't want to wait ten years for the game... :)

Ya no kidding. Theres taking your time, then theres being like Steam.  By the time Half-Life ep 3 comes out, all the fans will be dead from old age.  Heck, Im pretty sure some of them died out before the release of ep 2!
