Why do I keep coming back to these forums. Worse than Tumblr half the time.

Cabal's meant for weapons more than max power damage. Give her a good gun, use Poison Strike and the dodge for mobility, Nightshade Blades like you'd use Ballistic Blades, and spam Biotic Focus for the shield restore. 3/5/6/6/6 works great.

L2 acquisition is more difficult than L1 acquisition, but that is obvious.

1. Her dodge is buggy as hell. You will dodge in place when you need it the most

2. Poison Strike is buggy as hell and only apply for 7.2 meters. After that it won't hurt anyone. All PS evolutions suck (especially compared to Biotic Charge) except one - Double Dash.

3. Nighshade blades only work in straight line and hit only those who are out of cover. Even if the enemy is visible but does the "going into cover animation" you will not hit and waste a valuable grenade

4. Both PS and NB's are extremely slow to execute for a CQC class and you will be easily staggered out of them

5. Atlas ass rockets

6. She needs Turian weapons damage passives. But she also needs power damage for more NB damage. So you end up with a half-assed build

7. Can't wear Grenade Capacity and Geth Scanner at the same time and she needs both to be REALLY playable.

8. The ONLY Vanguard that can't regen shields by default. She needs 21 points and a SPECIFIC evo to do that. So you're almost forced to pick it.

1) Only on London/Condor and with terrible hosts have I had this problem.

2) PS is a PoS. Don't take it further than 3 ranks unless you REALLY value mobility. It's pretty much a guaranteed forward teleport; use it when you think the action button will take you into cover/revive/sprint instead of the desired teleport.

3) These are your panic button. Don't use them unless you find yourself being overwhelmed by mooks. They suck against bosses, though they have a paralyze feature. Completely trivializes Phantoms, but not worth taking grenade capacity for, imo.

4) Haven't had it happen yet, you're exxagerating.

5) ...Agreed, but it's not that bad. Don't poison strike them as a means of damage, I guess. In fact, don't PS anybody expecting damage. It's a glorified travel tool.

6) Don't...Don't take power damage on her. That's stupid.

7) Grenade Capacity is completely unnecessary. Take Geth Scanner instead.

8) Don't play her like a Vanguard. Think of her as a biotic soldier, a foil to the Justicar (Offensive weapons Vanguard vs. Defensive weapons Adept).

Tl:dr? You're trying too hard to make her into a traditional Vanguard/Biotic. She's not designed for that; her powers scream guerilla tactics; hit & run (poison), excellent melee, and some of the best weapon passives in the game. Make those stronger instead of trying to cover her weaknesses. At the very least, stop relying on NB for damage; I feel like that'd help you out a lot. Or get on the internet and complain about it. Whatever. I'm tired.

1. EVERYWHERE. And on host.

2. As a teleport it's too slow

3. Needs 2-3 to kill a Phantom. That's A LOT

4. I'm not exaggerating. Play aggressively, see what happens.

5. That's why it sucks.

6. She needs power damage or else NB's are weaksauce.  Plus you need higher weight capacity for faster BF recharge.

7. She needs both. One for CC and the other for safety.

8. I don't want a biotic soldier or another Justicar. I want a VANGUARD. And if I want strong Turian passives and weapons damage I'll take a Tsol or Ghost.

Tl:dr. The class tries to be everything, but does nothing truly good. Not even melee. She's survivable and can jump around. But that's pretty much it.

Odd, I enjoy playing her more than most of my kits. She is one of my go tos. But I don't even try to play her like a Vanguard. She is a high barrier, high mobility, weapons platform with a really good melee.

Might be why it works for me, I don't really like vanguards.

And don't give me the "L2P" BSN horsecrap.  Her Powers are not rocket science to figure out how to use.  A pure-DOT kit has NO place in ME3MP.

Poison Strike:  DOT.
Nightshade Blades:  DOT.
Biotic Focus:  ONLY good for Barrier recharge to keep you alive.  It's actually the ONE good thing about her, specially on-host.
Venom Gauntlets:  DOT.

It's not at all that, "she can't kill", or "I can't kill with her".  Because I *can*.  But moreso that she's just a stupid kit for "multiplayer".  The Volus AT LEAST effectively fills the niche of a Support kit.  The Cabal Turian?  She f*cking sucks.  She doesn't even synergize with herself.

It makes me sad but, I'm giving up on her.

The Cabal is a very good Vanguard.  Besides we all know hands down what the worst kit ever is:

You are truly, and sincerely, ephing retarded. Why don't you learn how to play the kit before you cast judgement, then you will learn the talon mercenary is an absolute BEAST who can easily carry platinum if you have the skill to stay alive, and I do mean EASILY carry platinum.

I can sorta see where the OP is coming from in a way. I only kill with my weapon using the cabal. Her powers are really not that effective at killing whatsoever. The blades skill needs grenades I and is not as good as ballistic blades which needs no grenades. Poison strike is weak, because it hardly hits anything. Apparently you cant poison strike through as wall and hit something on the other side.

Either you cant or I cant get that to work. However the cabal is still a great kit. The weapon passives are superior to most every kit. The cabal has great health and shields, biotic focus is a mini personal shield boost with other bennies. Using the dodge and poison strike to move around the battlefield gives you the best mobility in the game.

So if you use the Cabal as a mobile weapons platform she is a super soldier and easily one of the best classes to play. I can solo a lot of stuff with this kit. But you won't be raking up alot of kills using her powers, you really have to use your gun with her. Her powers get her into position to destroy with weapons, and they give awesome survivability to take a barrage of gunfire and escape unharmed.

1) I've used it off host on Platinum and I haven't encountered too many problems, seems to be the same issue as with the Fury and Slayer, with the lag delaying their teleport dodge.

2)That's why I don't go more than 4 into PS. Range is good, if you're using like BC then yeah you're not going to get much out of it. Teleporting through a wall, up a stairwell, and getting the hell out of trouble, without ever needing to charge an enemy is useful.

3)I'll have to have a closer look at this, I don't use them on targets in cover anyway, that's what tWeapons are for.

4)You have a range of at least 12m, they're not that slow so they're not that hard to use and they do stagger. But armour does certainly pose a problem. Not as good as Ballistic blades IMO, but paralysing that stupid Phantom regardless of it's DR, is always fun on Platinum

5) That's where BF's invunerability comes in. It's pretty good for dealling with the stupid DoT effects from those bloody rockets when they're about to hit you.

6) Yeah, I tried the combo build. Power, power and weapon damage, I didn't like it. I specced to full weapons damage and headshots. You can circumvent it by using either the Hurricane, Talon, Scorpion, CSMG, BPP etc. and sticking on the Power magnifier mod, then use AP IV ammo. The weapon passives are too good to skip out on, and the weapons are light enough to carry and SMG and heavy pistol to get the 30% power damage boost regardless of which you use. I tried it with the Harrier, didn't like it, I didn't get enough use out of her power fighting at range, just sat there and spammed BF firing, very boring and not using her to her full potential. Talon and Hurricane (or whatever Heavy pistol SMG combo you prefer) worked better IMO

7) No you don't. It's not as if we were never able to use melee builds before, without the Geth scanner, was it. It's very useful, but it's not a must. You're overstating things. Or Batarian shotgun soldier builds with Ballistic blades and Inferno grenades would be unplayable, they're not are they.

8) Why wouldn't you pick BF? It's a great power. Fast recharge, good duration, melee damage increase, DR, speed boost, invincibility and barrier recharge of 40%. It's very flexible in the ways to spec it. It's like complaining that Vanguard can't regen shields without speccing into BC, stupid isn't it.

First you're using it as a Vanguard, don't, she's not. Treat her as a soldier with hyped up mobility and powers which boost your DPS, ie: NSB, rather than straight damage dealers themselves. Her melee can chain stagger, and I might go for the melee build, go out of NSB entirely, and equip a shotgun with a melee attatchment.

She's a good kit, easily usable on Platinum without too much trouble. Makes Pizza delivery objectives laughably easy. But, she's not up there with the best Soldiers and Vanguards. She's got one foot in one camp and one in the other, but doesn't do either of them as well as the best of each class.

With Geth Scanner, pretty fun to play......PS through walls, NB for massive damage.....would be a different story if NB wasn't grenade based, but I really enjoy playing this way...fun crowd control.....

Wanna see how bad it is on the average PC PUG host?

Granted, I live in Perth, Western Australia, one of the most isolated cities in the world, but I can play this class fine with people from NSW/QLD ~4000km (2500mi) away, and even people from pacific US sometimes.

But PC PUG hosts are really just awful. I used to only play off host when the game was popular, but now that it's not, I almost never PUG off host.

Argh, the pain! I've played with hosts from Australia, on xbox, as well and the lag can be horible. Even when I was using a Drell dept. grenades didn't throw missed, enemies teleported, and reave missed targets. I've played with people in the EU, that's obviously fine for me, but also people from America, Kalas Mega, Slim, Jerimiah etc. and I haven't had major issues with her, at least not rubber banding to that extent. She's the only Vanguard that I'm actually willing to use off host on Gold and Platinum. I won't try with a Slayer, as it's going to be a painful PuG.

She's actually one of weakest kits for Platinum b/c she severely lacks in both power and weapon damage, and has no defuffs or power combo potential. All Soldiers laugh at her DPS, as do most Vanguards (and most other kits for that matter). Zapping through walls is cool and all (but nothing unique and map dependant), besides, mobility doesn't kill stuff and those who know how to play don't really need it anyway.

Good idea, poor execution.
